  • I want to write a program to control the square moving by using WINAPI

    - by code_new
    This is the code as attempted so far: #include <windows.h> LRESULT CALLBACK WndProc (HWND, UINT, WPARAM, LPARAM) ; int WINAPI WinMain (HINSTANCE hInstance, HINSTANCE hPrevInstance, PSTR szCmdLine, int iCmdShow) { static TCHAR szAppname[] = TEXT ("win0") ; WNDCLASS wndclass ; MSG msg ; HWND hwnd ; wndclass.style = CS_HREDRAW | CS_VREDRAW ; wndclass.cbWndExtra = 0 ; wndclass.cbClsExtra = 0 ; wndclass.lpfnWndProc = WndProc ; wndclass.lpszClassName = szAppname ; wndclass.lpszMenuName = NULL ; wndclass.hbrBackground = (HBRUSH) GetStockObject (WHITE_BRUSH) ; wndclass.hCursor = LoadCursor (NULL, IDC_ARROW) ; wndclass.hIcon = LoadIcon (NULL, IDI_APPLICATION) ; wndclass.hInstance = hInstance ; if (!RegisterClass (&wndclass)) { MessageBox (NULL, TEXT ("Register fail"), szAppname, 0) ; return 0 ; } hwnd = CreateWindow ( szAppname, TEXT ("mywin"), WS_OVERLAPPEDWINDOW, CW_USEDEFAULT, CW_USEDEFAULT, CW_USEDEFAULT, CW_USEDEFAULT, NULL, NULL, hInstance, NULL) ; ShowWindow (hwnd, iCmdShow) ; UpdateWindow (hwnd) ; while (GetMessage (&msg, NULL, 0, 0)) { TranslateMessage (&msg) ; DispatchMessage (&msg) ; } return msg.wParam ; } LRESULT CALLBACK WndProc (HWND hwnd, UINT message, WPARAM wParam, LPARAM lParam) { static int cxClient, cyClient, Left, Top, Right, Down ; PAINTSTRUCT ps ; HDC hdc ; RECT rect ; Right = 20 ; Down = 20 ; switch (message) { case WM_SIZE : cxClient = LOWORD (lParam) ; cyClient = HIWORD (lParam) ; return 0 ; case WM_PAINT : hdc = BeginPaint (hwnd, &ps) ; SetRect (&rect, Left, Top, Right, Down) ; FillRect (hdc, &rect, CreateSolidBrush (RGB (100, 100, 100))) ; EndPaint (hwnd, &ps) ; return 0 ; case WM_KEYDOWN : InvalidateRect (hwnd, &rect, TRUE) ; switch (wParam) { case VK_UP : if (Top - 20 < 0) { Top = 0 ; Down = 20 ; } else { Top -= 20 ; Down -= 20 ; } SendMessage (hwnd, WM_PAINT, wParam, lParam) ; break ; case VK_DOWN : if (Down + 20 > cyClient) { Down = cyClient ; Top = Down - 20 ; } else { Down += 20 ; Top += 20 ; }SendMessage (hwnd, WM_PAINT, wParam, lParam) ; break ; case VK_LEFT : if (Left - 20 < 0) { Left = 0 ; Right = 20 ; } else { Left -= 20 ; Right -= 20 ; }SendMessage (hwnd, WM_PAINT, wParam, lParam) ; break ; case VK_RIGHT : if (Right + 20 > cxClient) { Right = cxClient ; Left = Right - 20 ; } else { Right += 20 ; Left += 20 ; }SendMessage (hwnd, WM_PAINT, wParam, lParam) ; break ; default : break ; } return 0 ; case WM_DESTROY : PostQuitMessage (0) ; return 0 ; } return DefWindowProc (hwnd, message, wParam, lParam); } I considered that I didn't deal the message well, so I can't control it.

  • Control XML serialization of Dictionary<K, T>

    - by Luca
    I'm investigating about XML serialization, and since I use lot of dictionary, I would like to serialize them as well. I found the following solution for that (I'm quite proud of it! :) ). [XmlInclude(typeof(Foo))] public class XmlDictionary<TKey, TValue> { /// <summary> /// Key/value pair. /// </summary> public struct DictionaryItem { /// <summary> /// Dictionary item key. /// </summary> public TKey Key; /// <summary> /// Dictionary item value. /// </summary> public TValue Value; } /// <summary> /// Dictionary items. /// </summary> public DictionaryItem[] Items { get { List<DictionaryItem> items = new List<DictionaryItem>(ItemsDictionary.Count); foreach (KeyValuePair<TKey, TValue> pair in ItemsDictionary) { DictionaryItem item; item.Key = pair.Key; item.Value = pair.Value; items.Add(item); } return (items.ToArray()); } set { ItemsDictionary = new Dictionary<TKey,TValue>(); foreach (DictionaryItem item in value) ItemsDictionary.Add(item.Key, item.Value); } } /// <summary> /// Indexer base on dictionary key. /// </summary> /// <param name="key"></param> /// <returns></returns> public TValue this[TKey key] { get { return (ItemsDictionary[key]); } set { Debug.Assert(value != null); ItemsDictionary[key] = value; } } /// <summary> /// Delegate for get key from a dictionary value. /// </summary> /// <param name="value"></param> /// <returns></returns> public delegate TKey GetItemKeyDelegate(TValue value); /// <summary> /// Add a range of values automatically determining the associated keys. /// </summary> /// <param name="values"></param> /// <param name="keygen"></param> public void AddRange(IEnumerable<TValue> values, GetItemKeyDelegate keygen) { foreach (TValue v in values) ItemsDictionary.Add(keygen(v), v); } /// <summary> /// Items dictionary. /// </summary> [XmlIgnore] public Dictionary<TKey, TValue> ItemsDictionary = new Dictionary<TKey,TValue>(); } The classes deriving from this class are serialized in the following way: <FooDictionary xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xmlns:xsd="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema"> <Items> <DictionaryItemOfInt32Foo> <Key/> <Value/> </DictionaryItemOfInt32XmlProcess> <Items> This give me a good solution, but: How can I control the name of the element DictionaryItemOfInt32Foo What happens if I define a Dictionary<FooInt32, Int32> and I have the classes Foo and FooInt32? Is it possible to optimize the class above? THank you very much!

  • Help with Design for Vacation Tracking System (C#/.NET/Access/WebServices/SOA/Excel) [closed]

    - by Aaronaught
    I have been tasked with developing a system for tracking our company's paid time-off (vacation, sick days, etc.) At the moment we are using an Excel spreadsheet on a shared network drive, and it works pretty well, but we are concerned that we won't be able to "trust" employees forever and sometimes we run into locking issues when two people try to open the spreadsheet at once. So we are trying to build something a little more robust. I would like some input on this design in terms of maintainability, scalability, extensibility, etc. It's a pretty simple workflow we need to represent right now: I started with a basic MS Access schema like this: Employees (EmpID int, EmpName varchar(50), AllowedDays int) Vacations (VacationID int, EmpID int, BeginDate datetime, EndDate datetime) But we don't want to spend a lot of time building a schema and database like this and have to change it later, so I think I am going to go with something that will be easier to expand through configuration. Right now the vacation table has this schema: Vacations (VacationID int, PropName varchar(50), PropValue varchar(50)) And the table will be populated with data like this: VacationID | PropName | PropValue -----------+--------------+------------------ 1 | EmpID | 4 1 | EmpName | James Jones 1 | Reason | Vacation 1 | BeginDate | 2/24/2010 1 | EndDate | 2/30/2010 1 | Destination | Spectate Swamp 2 | ... | ... I think this is a pretty good, extensible design, we can easily add new properties to the vacation like the destination or maybe approval status, etc. I wasn't too sure how to go about managing the database of valid properties, I thought of putting them in a separate PropNames table but it gets complicated to manage all the different data types and people say that you shouldn't put CLR type names into a SQL database, so I decided to use XML instead, here is the schema: <VacationProperties> <PropertyNames>EmpID,EmpName,Reason,BeginDate,EndDate,Destination</PropertyNames> <PropertyTypes>System.Int32,System.String,System.String,System.DateTime,System.DateTime,System.String</PropertyTypes> <PropertiesRequired>true,true,false,true,true,false</PropertiesRequired> </VacationProperties> I might need more fields than that, I'm not completely sure. I'm parsing the XML like this (would like some feedback on the parsing code): string xml = File.ReadAllText("properties.xml"); Match m = Regex.Match(xml, "<(PropertyNames)>(.*?)</PropertyNames>"; string[] pn = m.Value.Split(','); // do the same for PropertyTypes, PropertiesRequired Then I use the following code to persist configuration changes to the database: string sql = "DROP TABLE VacationProperties"; sql = sql + " CREATE TABLE VacationProperties "; sql = sql + "(PropertyName varchar(100), PropertyType varchar(100) "; sql = sql + "IsRequired varchar(100))"; for (int i = 0; i < pn.Length; i++) { sql = sql + " INSERT VacationProperties VALUES (" + pn[i] + "," + pt[i] + "," + pv[i] + ")"; } // GlobalConnection is a singleton new SqlCommand(sql, GlobalConnection.Instance).ExecuteReader(); So far so good, but after a few days of this I then realized that a lot of this was just a more specific kind of a generic workflow which could be further abstracted, and instead of writing all of this boilerplate plumbing code I could just come up with a workflow and plug it into a workflow engine like Windows Workflow Foundation and have the users configure it: In order to support routing these configurations throw the workflow system, it seemed natural to implement generic XML Web Services for this instead of just using an XML file as above. I've used this code to implement the Web Services: public class VacationConfigurationService : WebService { [WebMethod] public void UpdateConfiguration(string xml) { // Above code goes here } } Which was pretty easy, although I'm still working on a way to validate that XML against some kind of schema as there's no error-checking yet. I also created a few different services for other operations like VacationSubmissionService, VacationReportService, VacationDataService, VacationAuthenticationService, etc. The whole Service Oriented Architecture looks like this: And because the workflow itself might change, I have been working on a way to integrate the WF workflow system with MS Visio, which everybody at the office already knows how to use so they could make changes pretty easily. We have a diagram that looks like the following (it's kind of hard to read but the main items are Activities, Authenticators, Validators, Transformers, Processors, and Data Connections, they're all analogous to the services in the SOA diagram above). The requirements for this system are: (Note - I don't control these, they were given to me by management) Main workflow must interface with Excel spreadsheet, probably through VBA macros (to ease the transition to the new system) Alerts should integrate with MS Outlook, Lotus Notes, and SMS (text messages). We also want to interface it with the company Voice Mail system but that is not a "hard" requirement. Performance requirements: Must handle 250,000 Transactions Per Second Should be able to handle up to 20,000 employees (right now we have 3) 99.99% uptime ("four nines") expected Must be secure against outside hacking, but users cannot be required to enter a username/password. Platforms: Must support Windows XP/Vista/7, Linux, iPhone, Blackberry, DOS 2.0, VAX, IRIX, PDP-11, Apple IIc. Time to complete: 6 to 8 weeks. My questions are: Is this a good design for the system so far? Am I using all of the recommended best practices for these technologies? How do I integrate the Visio diagram above with the Windows Workflow Foundation to call the ConfigurationService and persist workflow changes? Am I missing any important components? Will this be extensible enough to support any scenario via end-user configuration? Will the system scale to the above performance requirements? Will we need any expensive hardware to run it? Are there any "gotchas" I should know about with respect to cross-platform compatibility? For example would it be difficult to convert this to an iPhone app? How long would you expect this to take? (We've dedicated 1 week for testing so I'm thinking maybe 5 weeks?) Many thanks for your advices, Aaron

  • Access denied error when building project in Xcode after fresh SVN checkout

    I am seeing 2 strange access denied errors which I cant solve. This error occurs when a colleague checks out the project in SVN and it tries to find a file in my downloads folder - there is nothing in my download folder though: ProcessPCH /var/folders/f0/f01B78egHdyWY62v5MABJk+++TM/-Caches-/com.apple.Xcode.502/SharedPrecompiledHeaders/SplitView_Prefix-allviomrzhantlbahmhixtzhknpl/SplitView_Prefix.pch.gch SplitView_Prefix.pch normal armv7 objective-c com.apple.compilers.gcc.4_2 cd /SubVersion/SplitView/trunk/SplitView setenv LANG en_US.US-ASCII setenv PATH "/Developer/Platforms/iPhoneOS.platform/Developer/usr/bin:/Developer/usr/bin:/usr/bin:/bin:/usr/sbin:/sbin" /Developer/Platforms/iPhoneOS.platform/Developer/usr/bin/gcc-4.2 -x objective-c-header -arch armv7 -fmessage-length=0 -pipe -std=c99 -Wno-trigraphs -fpascal-strings -O0 -Wreturn-type -Wunused-variable -isysroot /Developer/Platforms/iPhoneOS.platform/Developer/SDKs/iPhoneOS4.2.sdk -fvisibility=hidden -gdwarf-2 -mno-thumb -miphoneos-version-min=4.2 -iquote /SubVersion/SplitView/trunk/SplitView/build/SplitView.build/Debug-iphoneos/Renovatio.build/SplitView-generated-files.hmap -I/SubVersion/SplitView/trunk/SplitView/build/SplitView.build/Debug-iphoneos/Renovatio.build/SplitView-own-target-headers.hmap -I/SubVersion/SplitView/trunk/SplitView/build/SplitView.build/Debug-iphoneos/Renovatio.build/SplitView-all-target-headers.hmap -iquote /SubVersion/SplitView/trunk/SplitView/build/SplitView.build/Debug-iphoneos/Renovatio.build/SplitView-project-headers.hmap -Wno-write-strings -F/SubVersion/SplitView/trunk/SplitView/build/Debug-iphoneos -F/SubVersion/SplitView/trunk/SplitView -F/Users//Downloads -I/SubVersion/SplitView/trunk/SplitView/build/Debug-iphoneos/include -I/SubVersion/SplitView/trunk/SplitView/build/SplitView.build/Debug-iphoneos/Renovatio.build/DerivedSources/armv7 -I/SubVersion/SplitView/trunk/SplitView/build/SplitView.build/Debug-iphoneos/Renovatio.build/DerivedSources -fno-regmove -falign-loops=16 -fvisibility=default -c /SubVersion/SplitView/trunk/SplitView/SplitView_Prefix.pch -o /var/folders/f0/f01B78egHdyWY62v5MABJk+++TM/-Caches-/com.apple.Xcode.502/SharedPrecompiledHeaders/SplitView_Prefix-allviomrzhantlbahmhixtzhknpl/SplitView_Prefix.pch.gch cc1objplus: error: /Users//Downloads: Permission denied ProcessPCH++ /var/folders/f0/f01B78egHdyWY62v5MABJk+++TM/-Caches-/com.apple.Xcode.502/SharedPrecompiledHeaders/SplitView_Prefix-fdhrznnmptbkzefjexcjfecmqxmq/SplitView_Prefix.pch.gch SplitView_Prefix.pch normal armv7 objective-c++ com.apple.compilers.gcc.4_2 cd /SubVersion/SplitView/trunk/SplitView setenv LANG en_US.US-ASCII setenv PATH "/Developer/Platforms/iPhoneOS.platform/Developer/usr/bin:/Developer/usr/bin:/usr/bin:/bin:/usr/sbin:/sbin" /Developer/Platforms/iPhoneOS.platform/Developer/usr/bin/gcc-4.2 -x objective-c++-header -arch armv7 -fmessage-length=0 -pipe -Wno-trigraphs -fpascal-strings -O0 -Wreturn-type -Wunused-variable -isysroot /Developer/Platforms/iPhoneOS.platform/Developer/SDKs/iPhoneOS4.2.sdk -fvisibility=hidden -fvisibility-inlines-hidden -gdwarf-2 -mno-thumb -miphoneos-version-min=4.2 -iquote /SubVersion/SplitView/trunk/SplitView/build/SplitView.build/Debug-iphoneos/Renovatio.build/SplitView-generated-files.hmap -I/SubVersion/SplitView/trunk/SplitView/build/SplitView.build/Debug-iphoneos/Renovatio.build/SplitView-own-target-headers.hmap -I/SubVersion/SplitView/trunk/SplitView/build/SplitView.build/Debug-iphoneos/Renovatio.build/SplitView-all-target-headers.hmap -iquote /SubVersion/SplitView/trunk/SplitView/build/SplitView.build/Debug-iphoneos/Renovatio.build/SplitView-project-headers.hmap -Wno-write-strings -F/SubVersion/SplitView/trunk/SplitView/build/Debug-iphoneos -F/SubVersion/SplitView/trunk/SplitView -F/Users//Downloads -I/SubVersion/SplitView/trunk/SplitView/build/Debug-iphoneos/include -I/SubVersion/SplitView/trunk/SplitView/build/SplitView.build/Debug-iphoneos/Renovatio.build/DerivedSources/armv7 -I/SubVersion/SplitView/trunk/SplitView/build/SplitView.build/Debug-iphoneos/Renovatio.build/DerivedSources -c /SubVersion/SplitView/trunk/SplitView/SplitView_Prefix.pch -o /var/folders/f0/f01B78egHdyWY62v5MABJk+++TM/-Caches-/com.apple.Xcode.502/SharedPrecompiledHeaders/SplitView_Prefix-fdhrznnmptbkzefjexcjfecmqxmq/SplitView_Prefix.pch.gch cc1objplus: error: /Users//Downloads: Permission denied

  • Authorizing a computer to access a web application

    - by HackedByChinese
    I have a web application, and am tasked with adding secure sign-on to bolster security, akin to what Google has added to Google accounts. Use Case Essentially, when a user logs in, we want to detect if the user has previously authorized this computer. If the computer has not been authorized, the user is sent a one-time password (via email, SMS, or phone call) that they must enter, where the user may choose to remember this computer. In the web application, we will track authorized devices, allowing users to see when/where they logged in from that device last, and deauthorize any devices if they so choose. We require a solution that is very light touch (meaning, requiring no client-side software installation), and works with Safari, Chrome, Firefox, and IE 7+ (unfortunately). We will offer x509 security, which provides adequate security, but we still need a solution for customers that can't or won't use x509. My intention is to store authorization information using cookies (or, potentially, using local storage, degrading to flash cookies, and then normal cookies). At First Blush Track two separate values (local data or cookies): a hash representing a secure sign-on token, as well as a device token. Both values are driven (and recorded) by the web application, and dictated to the client. The SSO token is dependent on the device as well as a sequence number. This effectively allows devices to be deauthorized (all SSO tokens become invalid) and mitigates replay (not effectively, though, which is why I'm asking this question) through the use of a sequence number, and uses a nonce. Problem With this solution, it's possible for someone to just copy the SSO and device tokens and use in another request. While the sequence number will help me detect such an abuse and thus deauthorize the device, the detection and response can only happen after the valid device and malicious request both attempt access, which is ample time for damage to be done. I feel like using HMAC would be better. Track the device, the sequence, create a nonce, timestamp, and hash with a private key, then send the hash plus those values as plain text. Server does the same (in addition to validating the device and sequence) and compares. That seems much easier, and much more reliable.... assuming we can securely negotiate, exchange, and store private keys. Question So then, how can I securely negotiate a private key for authorized device, and then securely store that key? Is it more possible, at least, if I settle for storing the private key using local storage or flash cookies and just say it's "good enough"? Or, is there something I can do to my original draft to mitigate the vulnerability I describe?

  • Reflection to access advanced telephony features

    - by Tyler
    I am trying to use reflection to access some advanced features of the telephony api not published. Currently I am having trouble instantiating a serviceManager object that is needed to get the "phone" service as a binder which I can then use to instantiate a telephony object which is needed to make a call, end call, etc... currently when I make the call serviceManagerObject = tempInterfaceMethod.invoke(null, new Object[] { new Binder() }); it returns a nullPointerException. I believe this has to due with creating a new Binder instead of sending the appropriate binder (which I am unsure of which one is appropriate) public void placeReflectedCall() throws ClassNotFoundException, SecurityException, NoSuchMethodException, IllegalArgumentException, IllegalAccessException, InvocationTargetException, InstantiationException { String serviceManagerName = "android.os.IServiceManager"; String serviceManagerNativeName = "android.os.ServiceManagerNative"; String telephonyName = "com.android.internal.telephony.ITelephony"; Class telephonyClass; Class telephonyStubClass; Class serviceManagerClass; Class serviceManagerStubClass; Class serviceManagerNativeClass; Class serviceManagerNativeStubClass; Method telephonyCall; Method telephonyEndCall; Method telephonyAnswerCall; Method getDefault; Method[] temps; Constructor[] serviceManagerConstructor; // Method getService; Object telephonyObject; Object serviceManagerObject; String number = "1111111111"; telephonyClass = Class.forName(telephonyName); telephonyStubClass = telephonyClass.getClasses()[0]; serviceManagerClass = Class.forName(serviceManagerName); serviceManagerNativeClass = Class.forName(serviceManagerNativeName); Method getService = // getDefaults[29]; serviceManagerClass.getMethod("getService", String.class); Method tempInterfaceMethod = serviceManagerNativeClass.getMethod( "asInterface", IBinder.class); // this does not work serviceManagerObject = tempInterfaceMethod.invoke(null, new Object[] { new Binder() }); IBinder retbinder = (IBinder) getService.invoke(serviceManagerObject, "phone"); Method serviceMethod = telephonyStubClass.getMethod("asInterface", IBinder.class); telephonyObject = serviceMethod .invoke(null, new Object[] { retbinder }); telephonyCall = telephonyClass.getMethod("call", String.class); telephonyEndCall = telephonyClass.getMethod("endCall"); telephonyAnswerCall = telephonyClass.getMethod("answerRingingCall"); telephonyCall.invoke(telephonyObject, number); } Thanks in advance for any answers.

  • SQLServer:Namespaces preventing access to query data

    - by Brian
    Hi A beginners question, hopefully easily answered. I've got an xml file I want to load into SQLServer 2008 and extract the useful informaiton. I'm starting simple and just trying to extract the name (\gpx\name). The code I have is: DECLARE @x xml; SELECT @x = xCol.BulkColumn FROM OPENROWSET (BULK 'C:\Data\EM.gpx', SINGLE_BLOB) AS xCol; -- confirm the xml data is in @x select @x as XML_Data -- try and get the name of the gpx section SELECT c.value('name[1]', 'varchar(200)') as Name from @x.nodes('gpx') x(c) Below is a heavily shortened version of the xml file: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> <gpx xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xmlns:xsd="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema" version="1.0" creator="Groundspeak Pocket Query" xsi:schemaLocation="http://www.topografix.com/GPX/1/0 http://www.topografix.com/GPX/1/0/gpx.xsd http://www.groundspeak.com/cache/1/0 http://www.groundspeak.com/cache/1/0/cache.xsd" xmlns="http://www.topografix.com/GPX/1/0"> <name>EM</name> <desc>Geocache file generated by Groundspeak</desc> <author>Groundspeak</author> <email>[email protected]</email> <time>2010-03-24T14:01:36.4931342Z</time> <keywords>cache, geocache, groundspeak</keywords> <wpt lat="51.2586" lon="-2.213067"> <time>2008-03-30T07:00:00Z</time> <name>GC1APHM</name> <desc>Sandman's Noble Hoard by Sandman1973, Unknown Cache (2/3)</desc> <groundspeak:cache id="832000" available="True" archived="False" xmlns:groundspeak="http://www.groundspeak.com/cache/1/0"> <groundspeak:name>Sandman's Noble Hoard</groundspeak:name> <groundspeak:placed_by>Sandman1973</groundspeak:placed_by> </groundspeak:cache> </wpt> </gpx> If the first two lines are replaced with just: <gpx> the above example works correctly, however I then can't access groundspeak:name (/gpx/wpt/groundspeak:cache/groundspeak:name), so my guess its a problem with the namespace. Any help would be appriciated.

  • WPF Lookless Control Events

    - by Scott
    I have the following class: public class LooklessControl : Control { public List<int> IntList { get; private set; } public int CurrentInt { get; private set; } private int _index = 0; static LooklessControl() { DefaultStyleKeyProperty.OverrideMetadata(typeof(LooklessControl), new FrameworkPropertyMetadata(typeof(LooklessControl))); } public LooklessControl() { IntList = new List<int>(); for (int i = 0; i < 10; i++) { IntList.Add(i); } CurrentInt = IntList[_index]; } public static readonly RoutedCommand NextItemCommand = new RoutedCommand("NextItemCommand", typeof(LooklessControl)); private void ExecutedNextItemCommand(object sender, ExecutedRoutedEventArgs e) { NextItemHandler(); } private void CanExecuteNextItemCommand(object sender, CanExecuteRoutedEventArgs e) { e.CanExecute = true; } public static readonly RoutedCommand PrevItemCommand = new RoutedCommand("PrevItemCommand", typeof(LooklessControl)); private void ExecutedPrevItemCommand(ExecutedRoutedEventArgs e) { PrevItemHandler(); } private void CanExecutePrevItemCommand(object sender, CanExecuteRoutedEventArgs e) { e.CanExecute = true; } public static readonly RoutedEvent NextItemEvent = EventManager.RegisterRoutedEvent("NextItemEvent", RoutingStrategy.Bubble, typeof(RoutedEventHandler), typeof(LooklessControl)); public event RoutedEventHandler NextItem { add { AddHandler(NextItemEvent, value); } remove { RemoveHandler(NextItemEvent, value); } } private void RaiseNextItemEvent() { RoutedEventArgs args = new RoutedEventArgs(LooklessControl.NextItemEvent); RaiseEvent(args); } public static readonly RoutedEvent PrevItemEvent = EventManager.RegisterRoutedEvent("PrevItemEvent", RoutingStrategy.Bubble, typeof(RoutedEventHandler), typeof(LooklessControl)); public event RoutedEventHandler PrevItem { add { AddHandler(PrevItemEvent, value); } remove { RemoveHandler(PrevItemEvent, value); } } private void RaisePrevItemEvent() { RoutedEventArgs args = new RoutedEventArgs(LooklessControl.PrevItemEvent); RaiseEvent(args); } private void NextItemHandler() { _index++; if (_index == IntList.Count) { _index = 0; } CurrentInt = IntList[_index]; RaiseNextItemEvent(); } private void PrevItemHandler() { _index--; if (_index == 0) { _index = IntList.Count - 1; } CurrentInt = IntList[_index]; RaisePrevItemEvent(); } } The class has a default style, in Generic.xaml, that looks like this: <Style x:Key="{x:Type local:LooklessControl}" TargetType="{x:Type local:LooklessControl}"> <Setter Property="Height" Value="200"/> <Setter Property="Width" Value="90"/> <Setter Property="Template"> <Setter.Value> <ControlTemplate TargetType="{x:Type local:LooklessControl}"> <Border BorderBrush="Black" BorderThickness="1" Padding="2"> <Grid> <Grid.RowDefinitions> <RowDefinition Height="20"/> <RowDefinition Height="*"/> </Grid.RowDefinitions> <Rectangle Grid.Row="0" Fill="LightGray"/> <Rectangle Grid.Row="1" Fill="Gainsboro"/> <Grid Grid.Row="0"> <Grid.ColumnDefinitions> <ColumnDefinition Width="10"/> <ColumnDefinition Width="*"/> <ColumnDefinition Width="10"/> </Grid.ColumnDefinitions> <Path Grid.Column="0" x:Name="pathLeftArrow" Data="M0,0.5 L1,1 1,0Z" Width="6" Height="14" Stretch="Fill" HorizontalAlignment="Center" Fill="SlateBlue"/> <TextBlock Grid.Column="1" Name="textBlock" Text="{Binding RelativeSource={RelativeSource TemplatedParent}, Path=CurrentInt}" HorizontalAlignment="Center" VerticalAlignment="Center" FontFamily="Junction" FontSize="13"/> <Path Grid.Column="2" x:Name="pathRightArrow" Data="M0,0 L1,0.5 0,1Z" Width="6" Height="14" Stretch="Fill" HorizontalAlignment="Center" Fill="SlateBlue"/> </Grid> <ListBox Grid.Row="1" HorizontalContentAlignment="Center" VerticalContentAlignment="Center" Background="Transparent" ItemsSource="{Binding RelativeSource={RelativeSource TemplatedParent}, Path=IntList}"/> </Grid> </Border> </ControlTemplate> </Setter.Value> </Setter> </Style> How do I make it so that when the user clicks on pathLeftArrow it fires LooklessControl.PrevItemCommand, or or they click on pathRightArrow and it fires LooklessControl.NextItemCommand, or they click on an item in the ListBox and LooklessControl is notified of the newly selected item? In other words, without adding x:Class to the top of Generic.xaml and thus creating a code-behind file for it, which I assume you wouldn't want to do, how do you handle events for elements in your xaml that don't have a Command property (which is just about everything other than a Button)? Should LooklessControl have it's own XAML file (much like what you get when you create a new UserControl) associated with it that Generic.xaml just pulls in as a MergedDictionar as its default template? Or is there some other acknowledged way to do what I'm trying to do?

  • Two-way databinding of a custom templated asp.net control

    - by Jason
    I hate long code snippets and I'm sorry about this one, but it turns out that this asp.net stuff can't get much shorter and it's so specific that I haven't been able to generalize it without a full code listing. I just want simple two-way, declarative, edit-only databinding to a single instance of an object. Not a list of objects of a type with a bunch of NotImplementedExceptions for Add, Delete, and Select, but just a single view-state persisted object. This is certainly something that can be done but I've struggled with an implementation for years. This newest, closest implementation was inspired by this article from 4-Guys-From-Rolla. Unfortunately, after implementing, I'm getting the following error and I don't know what I'm missing: System.InvalidOperationException: Databinding methods such as Eval(), XPath(), and Bind() can only be used in the context of a databound control. If I don't use Bind(), and only use Eval() functionality, it works. In that way, the error is especially confusing. Update: Actually, using Eval() does NOT work, but using <%# Container.SampleString %> works. However, Eval("SampleString") gives the same error. That leads me back to this article I found earlier but had discarded. Now I believe it might be related, though I haven't cracked it yet ... Here's the simplified codeset that still produces the error: using System.ComponentModel; namespace System.Web.UI.WebControls.Special { public class SampleFormData { public string SampleString = "Sample String Data"; public int SampleInt = -1; } [ToolboxItem(false)] public class SampleSpecificFormDataContainer : DataBoundControl, INamingContainer { SampleSpecificEntryForm entryForm; internal SampleSpecificEntryForm EntryForm { get { return entryForm; } } [Bindable(true), Category("Data")] public string SampleString { get { return entryForm.FormData.SampleString; } set { entryForm.FormData.SampleString = value; } } [Bindable(true), Category("Data")] public int SampleInt { get { return entryForm.FormData.SampleInt; } set { entryForm.FormData.SampleInt = value; } } internal SampleSpecificFormDataContainer(SampleSpecificEntryForm entryForm) { this.entryForm = entryForm; } } public class SampleSpecificEntryForm : WebControl, INamingContainer { #region Template private IBindableTemplate formTemplate = null; [Browsable(false), DefaultValue(null), TemplateContainer(typeof(SampleSpecificFormDataContainer), ComponentModel.BindingDirection.TwoWay), PersistenceMode(PersistenceMode.InnerProperty)] public virtual IBindableTemplate FormTemplate { get { return formTemplate; } set { formTemplate = value; } } #endregion #region Viewstate SampleFormData FormDataVS { get { return (ViewState["FormData"] as SampleFormData) ?? new SampleFormData(); } set { ViewState["FormData"] = value; SaveViewState(); } } #endregion public override ControlCollection Controls { get { EnsureChildControls(); return base.Controls; } } private SampleSpecificFormDataContainer formDataContainer = null; [Browsable(false), DesignerSerializationVisibility(DesignerSerializationVisibility.Hidden)] public SampleSpecificFormDataContainer FormDataContainer { get { EnsureChildControls(); return formDataContainer; } } [Bindable(true), Browsable(false)] public SampleFormData FormData { get { return FormDataVS; } set { FormDataVS = value; } } protected override void CreateChildControls() { if (!this.ChildControlsCreated) { Controls.Clear(); formDataContainer = new SampleSpecificFormDataContainer(this); Controls.Add(formDataContainer); FormTemplate.InstantiateIn(formDataContainer); this.ChildControlsCreated = true; } } public override void DataBind() { CreateChildControls(); base.DataBind(); } } } With an ASP.NET page the following: <%@ Page Title="Home Page" Language="C#" MasterPageFile="~/Site.master" AutoEventWireup="true" CodeBehind="Default2.aspx.cs" Inherits="EntryFormTest._Default2" EnableEventValidation="false" %> <%@ Register Assembly="EntryForm" Namespace="System.Web.UI.WebControls.Special" TagPrefix="cc1" %> <asp:Content ID="HeaderContent" runat="server" ContentPlaceHolderID="HeadContent"> </asp:Content> <asp:Content ID="BodyContent" runat="server" ContentPlaceHolderID="MainContent"> <h2> Welcome to ASP.NET! </h2> <cc1:SampleSpecificEntryForm ID="EntryForm1" runat="server"> <FormTemplate> <asp:TextBox ID="TextBox1" runat="server" Text='<%# Bind("SampleString") %>'></asp:TextBox><br /> <h3>(<%# Container.SampleString %>)</h3><br /> <asp:Button ID="Button1" runat="server" Text="Button" /> </FormTemplate> </cc1:SampleSpecificEntryForm> </asp:Content> Default2.aspx.cs using System; namespace EntryFormTest { public partial class _Default2 : System.Web.UI.Page { protected void Page_Load(object sender, EventArgs e) { EntryForm1.DataBind(); } } } Thanks for any help!

  • How to access and work with XML from API in C#

    - by Jarek
    My goal is to pull XML data from the API and load it to a sql server database. The frist step I'm attempting here is to access the data and display it. Once I get this to work I'll loop through each row and insert the values into a sql server database. When I try to run the code below nothing happens and when I paste the url directly into the browser I get this error "2010-03-08 04:24:17 Wallet exhausted: retry after 2010-03-08 05:23:58. 2010-03-08 05:23:58" To me it seems that every iteration of the foreach loop makes a call to the site and I get blocked for an hour. Am I retrieving data from the API in an incorrect manner? Is there some way to load the data into memory or an array then loop through that? Here's the bit of code I hacked together. using System; using System.Data.SqlClient; using System.Collections.Generic; using System.Linq; using System.Web; using System.Web.UI; using System.Web.UI.WebControls; using System.Xml; using System.Data; public partial class _Default : System.Web.UI.Page { protected void Page_Load(object sender, EventArgs e) { try { string userID = "123"; string apiKey = "abc456"; string characterID = "789"; string url = "http://api.eve-online.com/char/WalletTransactions.xml.aspx?userID=" + userID + "&apiKey=" + apiKey + "&characterID=" + characterID; XmlDocument xmldoc = new XmlDocument(); xmldoc.Load(url); XmlNamespaceManager xnm1 = new XmlNamespaceManager(xmldoc.NameTable); XmlNodeList nList1 = xmldoc.SelectNodes("result/rowset/row", xnm1); foreach (XmlNode xNode in nList1) { Response.Write(xNode.InnerXml + "<br />"); } } catch (SqlException em) { Response.Write(em.Message); } } } Here's a sample of the xml <eveapi version="2"> <currentTime>2010-03-06 17:38:35</currentTime> <result> <rowset name="transactions" key="transactionID" columns="transactionDateTime,transactionID,quantity,typeName,typeID,price,clientID,clientName,stationID,stationName,transactionType,transactionFor"> <row transactionDateTime="2010-03-06 17:16:00" transactionID="1343566007" quantity="1" typeName="Co-Processor II" typeID="3888" price="1122999.00" clientID="1404318579" clientName="unseenstrike" stationID="60011572" stationName="Osmeden IX - Moon 6 - University of Caille School" transactionType="sell" transactionFor="personal" /> <row transactionDateTime="2010-03-06 17:15:00" transactionID="1343565894" quantity="1" typeName="Co-Processor II" typeID="3888" price="1150000.00" clientID="1404318579" clientName="unseenstrike" stationID="60011572" stationName="Osmeden IX - Moon 6 - University of Caille School" transactionType="sell" transactionFor="personal" /> </rowset> </result> <cachedUntil>2010-03-06 17:53:35</cachedUntil> </eveapi>

  • Internal class and access to external members.

    - by Knowing me knowing you
    I always thought that internal class has access to all data in its external class but having code: template<class T> class Vector { template<class T> friend std::ostream& operator<<(std::ostream& out, const Vector<T>& obj); private: T** myData_; std::size_t myIndex_; std::size_t mySize_; public: Vector():myData_(nullptr), myIndex_(0), mySize_(0) { } Vector(const Vector<T>& pattern); void insert(const T&); Vector<T> makeUnion(const Vector<T>&)const; Vector<T> makeIntersection(const Vector<T>&)const; class Iterator : public std::iterator<std::bidirectional_iterator_tag,T> { private: T** itData_; public: Iterator()//<<<<<<<<<<<<<------------COMMENT { /*HERE I'M TRYING TO USE ANY MEMBER FROM Vector<T> AND I'M GETTING ERR SAYING: ILLEGAL CALL OF NON-STATIC MEMBER FUNCTION*/} Iterator(T** ty) { itData_ = ty; } Iterator operator++() { return ++itData_; } T operator*() { return *itData_[0]; } bool operator==(const Iterator& obj) { return *itData_ == *obj.itData_; } bool operator!=(const Iterator& obj) { return *itData_ != *obj.itData_; } bool operator<(const Iterator& obj) { return *itData_ < *obj.itData_; } }; typedef Iterator iterator; iterator begin()const { assert(mySize_ > 0); return myData_; } iterator end()const { return myData_ + myIndex_; } }; See line marked as COMMENT. So can I or I can't use members from external class while in internal class? Don't bother about naming, it's not a Vector it's a Set. Thank you.

  • USB windows xp final USB access issues

    - by Lex Dean
    I basically understand you C++ people, Please do not get distracted because I'm writing in Delphi. I have a stable USB Listing method that accesses all my USB devices I get the devicepath, and this structure: TSPDevInfoData = packed record Size: DWORD; ClassGuid: TGUID; DevInst: DWORD; // DEVINST handle Reserved: DWord; end; I get my ProductID and VenderID successfully from my DevicePath Lists all USB devices connected to the computer at the time That enables me to access the registry data to each device in a stable way. What I'm lacking is a little direction Is friendly name able to be written inside the connected USB Micro chips by the firmware programmer? (I'm thinking of this to identify the device even further, or is this to help identify Bulk data transfer devices like memory sticks and camera's) Can I use SPDRP_REMOVAL_POLICY_OVERRIDE to some how reset these polices What else can I do with the registry details. Identifying when some one unplugs a device The program is using (in windows XP standard) I used a documented windows event that did not respond. Can I read a registry value to identify if its still connected? using CreateFileA (DevicePath) to send and receive data I have read when some one unplugs in the middle of a data transfer its difficult clearing resources. what can IoCreateDevice do for me and how does one use it for that task This two way point of connection status and system lock up situations is very concerning. Has some one read anything about this subject recently? My objectives are to 1. list connected USB devices identify a in development Micro Controller from everything else send and receive data in a stable and fast way to the limits of the controller No lock up's transferring data Note I'm not using any service packs I understand everything USB is in ANSI when windows xp is not and .Net is all about ANSI (what a waste of memory) I plan to continue this project into a .net at a later date as an addition. MSDN gives me Structures and Functions and what should link to what ok but say little to what they get used for. What is available in my language Delphi is way over priced that it needs a major price drop.

  • C# Property Access vs Interface Implementation

    - by ehdv
    I'm writing a class to represent a Pivot Collection, the root object recognized by Pivot. A Collection has several attributes, a list of facet categories (each represented by a FacetCategory object) and a list of items (each represented by a PivotItem object). Therefore, an extremely simplified Collection reads: public class Collection { private List<FacetCategory> categories; private List<PivotItem> items; // other attributes } What I'm unsure of is how to properly grant access to those two lists. Because declaration order of both facet categories and items is visible to the user, I can't use sets, but the class also shouldn't allow duplicate categories or items. Furthermore, I'd like to make the Collection object as easy to use as possible. So my choices are: Have Collection implement IList<PivotItem> and have accessor methods for FacetCategory: In this case, one would add an item to Collection foo by writing foo.Add(bar). This works, but since a Collection is equally both kinds of list making it only pass as a list for one type (category or item) seems like a subpar solution. Create nested wrapper classes for List (CategoryList and ItemList). This has the advantage of making a consistent interface but the downside is that these properties would no longer be able to serve as lists (because I need to override the non-virtual Add method I have to implement IList rather than subclass List. Implicit casting wouldn't work because that would return the Add method to its normal behavior. Also, for reasons I can't figure out, IList is missing an AddRange method... public class Collection { private class CategoryList: IList<FacetCategory> { // ... } private readonly CategoryList categories = new CategoryList(); private readonly ItemList items = new ItemList(); public CategoryList FacetCategories { get { return categories; } set { categories.Clear(); categories.AddRange(value); } } public ItemList Items { get { return items; } set { items.Clear(); items.AddRange(value); } } } Finally, the third option is to combine options one and two, so that Collection implements IList<PivotItem> and has a property FacetCategories. Question: Which of these three is most appropriate, and why?

  • Can't access font resource in Silverlight class library

    - by Matt
    I have a reasonably large Silveright 3.0 project on the go, and I'm having issues accessing a couple of custom font resources from within one of the assemblies. I've got a working test solution where I have added a custom font as a resource, and can access it fine from XAML using: <TextBlock Text="Test" FontFamily="FontName.ttf#Font Name" /> The test solution consists of the TestProject.Application and the TestProject.Application.Web projects, with all the fun and games obviously in the TestProject.Application project However, when I try this in my main solution, the fonts refuse to show in the correct type face (instead showing in the default font). There's no difference in the way the font has been added to project between the test solution and the main solution, and the XAML is identical. However, there is a solution layout difference. In the main solution, as well as having a MainApp.Application and MainApp.Application.Web project, I also have a MainApp.Application.ViewModel project and a MainApp.Application.Views project, and the problem piece of XAML is the in the MainApp.Application.Views project (not the .Application project like the test solution). I've tried putting the font into either the .Application or .Application.Views project, tried changing the Build Action to Content, Embedded Resource etc, all to no avail. So, is there an issue accessing font resources from a child assembly that I don't know about, or has anyone successfully done this? My long term need will be to have the valid custom fonts being stored as resources in a separate .Application.FontLibrary assembly that will be on-demand downloaded and cached, and the XAML controls in the .Application.Views project will need to reference this FontLibrary assembly to get the valid fonts. I've also tried xcreating this separate font library assembly, and I can't seem to get the fonts from the second assembly. As some additional information, I've also tried the following font referencing approaches: <TextBlock Text="Test" FontFamily="/FontName.ttf#Font Name" /> <TextBlock Text="Test" FontFamily="pack:application,,,/FontName.ttf#Font Name" /> <TextBlock Text="Test" FontFamily="pack:application,,,/MainApp.Application.Views;/FontName.ttf#Font Name" /> <TextBlock Text="Test" FontFamily="pack:application,,,/MainApp.Application.Views;component/FontName.ttf#Font Name" /> And a few similar variants with different assembly references/sub directories/random semi colons. And so far nothing works... anyone struck this (and preferably solved it)?

  • C# Serialization Surrogate - Cannot access a disposed object

    - by crushhawk
    I have an image class (VisionImage) that is a black box to me. I'm attempting to serialize the image object to file using Serialization Surrogates as explained on this page. Below is my surrogate code. sealed class VisionImageSerializationSurrogate : ISerializationSurrogate { public void GetObjectData(Object obj, SerializationInfo info, StreamingContext context) { VisionImage image = (VisionImage)obj; byte[,] temp = image.ImageToArray().U8; info.AddValue("width", image.Width); info.AddValue("height", image.Height); info.AddValue("pixelvalues", temp, temp.GetType()); } public Object SetObjectData(Object obj, SerializationInfo info, StreamingContext context, ISurrogateSelector selector) { VisionImage image = (VisionImage)obj; Int32 width = info.GetInt32("width"); Int32 height = info.GetInt32("height"); byte[,] temp = new byte[height, width]; temp = (byte[,])info.GetValue("pixelvalues", temp.GetType()); PixelValue2D tempPixels = new PixelValue2D(temp); image.ArrayToImage(tempPixels); return image; } } I've stepped through it to write to binary. It seems to be working fine (file is getting bigger as the images are captured). I tried to test it read the file back in. The values read back in are correct as far as the "info" object is concerned. When I get to the line image.ArrayToImage(tempPixels); It throws the "Cannot access a disposed object" exception. Upon further inspection, the object and the resulting image are both marked as disposed. My code behind the form spawns an "acquisitionWorker" and runs the following code. void acquisitionWorker_LoadImages(object sender, DoWorkEventArgs e) { // This is the main function of the acquisition background worker thread. // Perform image processing here instead of the UI thread to avoid a // sluggish or unresponsive UI. BackgroundWorker worker = (BackgroundWorker)sender; try { uint bufferNumber = 0; // Loop until we tell the thread to cancel or we get an error. When this // function completes the acquisitionWorker_RunWorkerCompleted method will // be called. while (!worker.CancellationPending) { VisionImage savedImage = (VisionImage) formatter.Deserialize(fs); CommonAlgorithms.Copy(savedImage, imageViewer.Image); // Update the UI by calling ReportProgress on the background worker. // This will call the acquisition_ProgressChanged method in the UI // thread, where it is safe to update UI elements. Do not update UI // elements directly in this thread as doing so could result in a // deadlock. worker.ReportProgress(0, bufferNumber); bufferNumber++; } } catch (ImaqException ex) { // If an error occurs and the background worker thread is not being // cancelled, then pass the exception along in the result so that // it can be handled in the acquisition_RunWorkerCompleted method. if (!worker.CancellationPending) e.Result = ex; } } What am I missing here? Why would the object be immediately disposed?

My JSON IS {"unread_msgs":[{"id":"6","title":"33333","user1":"19","timestamp":"1383747146","client_id":"Generic"},{"id":"5","title":"42142","user1":"19","timestamp":"1383740864","client_id":"Generic"}],"read_msgs":[{"id":"4","title":"test to addnrow","user1":"19","timestamp":"1383676647","client_id":"Generic"},{"id":"2","title":"kll","user1":"19","timestamp":"1383675548","client_id":"Generic"},{"id":"1","title":"jkjljklj","user1":"19","timestamp":"1382539982","client_id":"Generic"}],"urm_t":2,"rm_t":3} My JS <script type="text/javascript"> function GetClientMsgs () { $.post("assets/server/client_msgs.php",{ client_id:local_client_id } ,function(data) { var MsgData = $.parseJSON(data); console.log("Msg json data parsed"); $.each(MsgData, function(key, value) { console.log(value); $('#unread_row').append('<td><a href="#read_pm" onClick="ReadMsg('+value.unread_msgs.id+'); return false;">'+value.unread_msgs.title+'</a></td><td><a href="#profile">'+value.unread_msgs.studioname+'</a></td><td>'+value.unread_msgs.timestamp+'</td><td><a href="#delete_msg" onClick="DeleteMsg('value.unread_msgs.id+'); return false;">X</a></td>'); $('#read_row').append('<td><a href="#read_pm" onClick="ReadMsg('+value.read_msgs.id+'); return false;">'+value.read_msgs.title+'</a></td><td><a href="#profile">'+value.read_msgs.studioname+'</a></td><td>'+value.read_msgs.timestamp+'</td><td><a href="#delete_msg" onClick="DeleteMsg('+value.read_msgs.id+'); return false;">X</a></td>'); }); }); } </script> PHP $msgs = array('unread_msgs' => $dn1s, 'read_msgs' => $dn2s, 'urm_t' => $unread_msgs, 'rm_t' => $read_msgs); $json = json_encode($msgs); I am trying to post values returned such as unread_msgs.title or .id and am not able to access any of the objects. I have searched on here and could not find something specific to my structure. Thanks alot.

  • Dynamic swappable Data Access Layer

    - by Andy
    I'm writing a data driven WPF client. The client will typically pull data from a WCF service, which queries a SQL db, but I'd like the option to pull the data directly from SQL or other arbitrary data sources. I've come up with this design and would like to hear your opinion on whether it is the best design. First, we have some data object we'd like to extract from SQL. // The Data Object with a single property public class Customer { private string m_Name = string.Empty; public string Name { get { return m_Name; } set { m_Name = value;} } } Then I plan on using an interface which all data access layers should implement. Suppose one could also use an abstract class. Thoughts? // The interface with a single method interface ICustomerFacade { List<Customer> GetAll(); } One can create a SQL implementation. // Sql Implementation public class SqlCustomrFacade : ICustomerFacade { public List<Customer> GetAll() { // Query SQL db and return something useful // ... return new List<Customer>(); } } We can also create a WCF implementation. The problem with WCF is is that it doesn't use the same data object. It creates its own local version, so we would have to copy the details over somehow. I suppose one could use reflection to copy the values of similar fields across. Thoughts? // Wcf Implementation public class WcfCustomrFacade : ICustomerFacade { public List<Customer> GetAll() { // Get date from the Wcf Service (not defined here) List<WcfService.Customer> wcfCustomers = wcfService.GetAllCustomers(); // The list we're going to return List<Customer> customers = new List<Customer>(); // This is horrible foreach(WcfService.Customer wcfCustomer in wcfCustomers) { Customer customer = new Customer(); customer.Name = wcfCustomer.Name; customers.Add(customer); } return customers; } } I also plan on using a factory to decide which facade to use. // Factory pattern public class FacadeFactory() { public static ICustomerFacade CreateCustomerFacade() { // Determine the facade to use if (ConfigurationManager.AppSettings["DAL"] == "Sql") return new SqlCustomrFacade(); else return new WcfCustomrFacade(); } } This is how the DAL would typically be used. // Test application public class MyApp { public static void Main() { ICustomerFacade cf = FacadeFactory.CreateCustomerFacade(); cf.GetAll(); } } I appreciate your thoughts and time.

  • c++ setting string attribute value in class is throwing "Access violation reading location"

    - by user259789
    I am having some trouble getting this simple code to work: class CreateUserView { public: CreateUserView(void); ~CreateUserView(void); UserController* controller; void showView(); string name; string lastname; string address; string email; string dateOfBirth; }; All i need is to set these attributes in the implementation with getline(). CreateUserView::CreateUserView(void) { } void CreateUserView::showView() { cout << endl << " New User" << endl; cout << "--------------------------" << endl; cout << " Name\t\t: "; getline(cin, name); cout << " Lastname\t: "; getline(cin, lastname); cout << " Email\t\t: "; getline(cin, email); cout << " ===============================" << endl; cout << " 1. SAVE 2.CHANGE 3.CANCEL" << endl; cout << " ===============================" << endl; cout << " choice: "; int choice; cin >> choice; cin.ignore(); controller->createUser_choice(choice); } I keep getting this "Access violation reading location" error at this line: getline(cin, name); what's the best way of assigning a value to an std::string attribute of a class? even name = "whatever" is throwing that error!! thanks

  • Can't access Elements previously created by innerHTML with Javascript/Prototype

    - by Joe Hopfgartner
    I am setting the innerHTML variable of a div with contents from an ajax request: new Ajax.Request('/search/ajax/allakas/?ext_id='+extid, { method:'get', onSuccess: function(transport){ var response = transport.responseText || "no response text"; $('admincovers_content').innerHTML=response; }, onFailure: function(){ alert('Something went wrong...') } }); The response text cotains a form: <form id="akas-admin" method="post" action="/search/ajax/modifyakas/"> <input type="text" name="formfield" value="i am a form field"/> </form> Then I call a functiont that should submit that form: $('akas-admin').request({ onComplete: function(transport){ //alert('Form data saved! '+transport.responseText) $('admincovers_content').innerHTML=transport.responseText; } }); The problem is $('akas-admin) returns null , I tried to put the form with this id in the original document, which works. Question: Can I somehow "revalidate" the dom or access elements that have been inserted with innerHTML? Edit Info: document.getElementById("akas-admin").submit() works just fine, problem is i don't want to reload the whole page but post the form over ajax and get the response text in a callback function. Edit: Based on the answers provided, i replaced my function that does the request with the following observer: Event.observe(document.body, 'click', function(event) { var e = Event.element(event); if ('aka-savelink' == e.identify()) { alert('savelink clicked!'); if (el = e.findElement('#akas-admin')) { alert('found form to submit it has id: '+el.identify()); el.request({ onComplete: function(transport){ alert('Form data saved! '+transport.responseText) $('admincovers_content').innerHTML=transport.responseText; } }); } } }); problem is that i get as far as alert('savelink clicked!'); . findelement doesnt return the form. i tried to place the save link above and under the form. both doesnt work. i also think this approach is a bit clumsy and i am doing it wrong. could anyone point me in the right direction?

  • Architecture for a business objects / database access layer

    - by gregmac
    For various reasons, we are writing a new business objects/data storage library. One of the requirements of this layer is to separate the logic of the business rules, and the actual data storage layer. It is possible to have multiple data storage layers that implement access to the same object - for example, a main "database" data storage source that implements most objects, and another "ldap" source that implements a User object. In this scenario, User can optionally come from an LDAP source, perhaps with slightly different functionality (eg, not possible to save/update the User object), but otherwise it is used by the application the same way. Another data storage type might be a web service, or an external database. There are two main ways we are looking at implementing this, and me and a co-worker disagree on a fundamental level which is correct. I'd like some advice on which one is the best to use. I'll try to keep my descriptions of each as neutral as possible, as I'm looking for some objective view points here. Business objects are base classes, and data storage objects inherit business objects. Client code deals with data storage objects. In this case, common business rules are inherited by each data storage object, and it is the data storage objects that are directly used by the client code. This has the implication that client code determines which data storage method to use for a given object, because it has to explicitly declare an instance to that type of object. Client code needs to explicitly know connection information for each data storage type it is using. If a data storage layer implements different functionality for a given object, client code explicitly knows about it at compile time because the object looks different. If the data storage method is changed, client code has to be updated. Business objects encapsulate data storage objects. In this case, business objects are directly used by client application. Client application passes along base connection information to business layer. Decision about which data storage method a given object uses is made by business object code. Connection information would be a chunk of data taken from a config file (client app does not really know/care about details of it), which may be a single connection string for a database, or several pieces connection strings for various data storage types. Additional data storage connection types could also be read from another spot - eg, a configuration table in a database that specifies URLs to various web services. The benefit here is that if a new data storage method is added to an existing object, a configuration setting can be set at runtime to determine which method to use, and it is completely transparent to the client applications. Client apps do not need to be modified if data storage method for a given object changes. Business objects are base classes, data source objects inherit from business objects. Client code deals primarily with base classes. This is similar to the first method, but client code declares variables of the base business object types, and Load()/Create()/etc static methods on the business objects return the appropriate data source-typed objects. The architecture of this solution is similar to the first method, but the main difference is the decision about which data storage object to use for a given business object is made by the business layer, not the client code. I know there are already existing ORM libraries that provide some of this functionality, but please discount those for now (there is the possibility that a data storage layer is implemented with one of these ORM libraries) - also note I'm deliberately not telling you what language is being used here, other than that it is strongly typed. I'm looking for some general advice here on which method is better to use (or feel free to suggest something else), and why.

  • Xcode - "Preference Pane" project - how to access bundle?

    - by Nippysaurus
    I have created a "Preference Pane" project. In this project I would like to load an image from my bundles resources folder. This seems difficult because "[NSBundle mainBundle]" seems to return the following: 27/12/10 9:24:18 PM System Preferences[5076] NSBundle </Applications/System Preferences.app> (loaded) Iterating through "[NSBundle allBundles]" reveals that my projects bundle appears, but does not appear to be loaded: 27/12/10 9:24:18 PM System Preferences[5076] NSBundle </System/Library/PreferencePanes/Mouse.prefPane> (not yet loaded) 27/12/10 9:24:18 PM System Preferences[5076] NSBundle </System/Library/PreferencePanes/Sound.prefPane> (not yet loaded) 27/12/10 9:24:18 PM System Preferences[5076] NSBundle </System/Library/PreferencePanes/Spotlight.prefPane> (not yet loaded) 27/12/10 9:24:18 PM System Preferences[5076] NSBundle </System/Library/PreferencePanes/TimeMachine.prefPane> (not yet loaded) 27/12/10 9:24:18 PM System Preferences[5076] NSBundle </Library/PreferencePanes/DivX.prefPane> (not yet loaded) 27/12/10 9:24:18 PM System Preferences[5076] NSBundle </System/Library/PreferencePanes/Trackpad.prefPane> (not yet loaded) 27/12/10 9:24:18 PM System Preferences[5076] NSBundle </System/Library/PreferencePanes/UniversalAccessPref.prefPane> (not yet loaded) 27/12/10 9:24:18 PM System Preferences[5076] NSBundle </System/Library/PreferencePanes/Dock.prefPane> (not yet loaded) 27/12/10 9:24:18 PM System Preferences[5076] NSBundle </System/Library/PreferencePanes/DateAndTime.prefPane> (not yet loaded) 27/12/10 9:24:18 PM System Preferences[5076] NSBundle </System/Library/PreferencePanes/Keyboard.prefPane> (not yet loaded) 27/12/10 9:24:18 PM System Preferences[5076] NSBundle </System/Library/PreferencePanes/MobileMe.prefPane> (not yet loaded) 27/12/10 9:24:18 PM System Preferences[5076] NSBundle </System/Library/PreferencePanes/FibreChannel.prefPane> (not yet loaded) 27/12/10 9:24:18 PM System Preferences[5076] NSBundle </System/Library/PreferencePanes/Appearance.prefPane> (not yet loaded) 27/12/10 9:24:18 PM System Preferences[5076] NSBundle </System/Library/PreferencePanes/DigiHubDiscs.prefPane> (not yet loaded) 27/12/10 9:24:18 PM System Preferences[5076] NSBundle </System/Library/PreferencePanes/Ink.prefPane> (not yet loaded) 27/12/10 9:24:18 PM System Preferences[5076] NSBundle </System/Library/PreferencePanes/Security.prefPane> (not yet loaded) 27/12/10 9:24:18 PM System Preferences[5076] NSBundle </System/Library/PreferencePanes/EnergySaver.prefPane> (not yet loaded) 27/12/10 9:24:18 PM System Preferences[5076] NSBundle </System/Library/PreferencePanes/Speech.prefPane> (not yet loaded) 27/12/10 9:24:18 PM System Preferences[5076] NSBundle </Users/michael/Library/PreferencePanes/MyPrefPane.prefPane> (loaded) 27/12/10 9:24:18 PM System Preferences[5076] NSBundle </Users/michael/Code/MyPrefPane/build/Debug/MyPrefPane.prefPane> (not yet loaded) 27/12/10 9:24:18 PM System Preferences[5076] NSBundle </System/Library/PreferencePanes/SharingPref.prefPane> (not yet loaded) 27/12/10 9:24:18 PM System Preferences[5076] NSBundle </System/Library/PreferencePanes/Expose.prefPane> (not yet loaded) 27/12/10 9:24:18 PM System Preferences[5076] NSBundle </System/Library/PreferencePanes/SoftwareUpdate.prefPane> (not yet loaded) 27/12/10 9:24:18 PM System Preferences[5076] NSBundle </System/Library/PreferencePanes/ParentalControls.prefPane> (not yet loaded) 27/12/10 9:24:18 PM System Preferences[5076] NSBundle </System/Library/PreferencePanes/PrintAndFax.prefPane> (not yet loaded) 27/12/10 9:24:18 PM System Preferences[5076] NSBundle </System/Library/PreferencePanes/Accounts.prefPane> (not yet loaded) 27/12/10 9:24:18 PM System Preferences[5076] NSBundle </System/Library/PreferencePanes/DesktopScreenEffectsPref.prefPane> (not yet loaded) 27/12/10 9:24:18 PM System Preferences[5076] NSBundle </System/Library/PreferencePanes/Bluetooth.prefPane> (not yet loaded) 27/12/10 9:24:18 PM System Preferences[5076] NSBundle </System/Library/PreferencePanes/Localization.prefPane> (not yet loaded) 27/12/10 9:24:18 PM System Preferences[5076] NSBundle </System/Library/PreferencePanes/StartupDisk.prefPane> (not yet loaded) 27/12/10 9:24:18 PM System Preferences[5076] NSBundle </System/Library/PreferencePanes/Network.prefPane> (not yet loaded) 27/12/10 9:24:18 PM System Preferences[5076] NSBundle </Applications/System Preferences.app> (loaded) 27/12/10 9:24:18 PM System Preferences[5076] NSBundle </System/Library/PreferencePanes/Displays.prefPane> (not yet loaded) I'm not sure whats going on here.
