I have about 10+ iframes in a page, and it's slowing down Firefox3.6.x substantially.
Is there anything I can do about this? i.e. modify the DOM somehow, or suspending certain events etc etc ?
I have been getting some weird page refresh in deployment and I can't seem to find the cause of it or replicate it in development. Is there a way for a javascript error or exception to cause a page reload? Or some tips to help me narrow down the cause?
Please see www.racedayworld.com
The plus sign (which is floated on the right of an accordian div panel) is being pushed down in certain browsers, but shows up fine is others...
I know it's happening in these browsers...
Firefox 3.0.5
IE 7
others?
Any ideas?
any better way to write this ?
$(this).parent().parent().find(" dd ul").toggle();
update..
I am trying to create a dropdown using the script here
http://www.jankoatwarpspeed.com/post/2009/07/28/reinventing-drop-down-with-css-jquery.aspx
however the script works only for one instance of list and my code works good for multiple instances. Just curious if there is another better way to get parent of a parent in jQuery
I want to resize a image with DPI 300 or greater..

hey guys,
someone already helped me solving the following problem: i wanted to iterate with my up and down arrows through list-items. http://jsfiddle.net/zBjrS/1/
in this example i only had one UL and wanted to navigate through its list-items.
meannwhile i have multiple ul's underneath each other and want to navigate seemlessly through all of them as if there were only one UL. http://jsfiddle.net/zBjrS/2/
any idea how i could do that?
thank you
I saw code which works like this:
do_something($param) || warn "something went wrong\n";
and I also saw code like this:
eval {
do_something_else($param);
};
if($@) {
warn "something went wrong\n";
}
Should I use eval/die in all my subroutines? Should I write all my code based on stuff returned from subroutines? Isn't eval'ing the code ( over and over ) gonna slow me down?
I have an asp.net web form (c#, .NET framework 3.5) that returns to itself after the user clicks the submit button. I think that some values of the form are cached (some controls in a "placeholder" are out of position... meaning they have moved slightly up or down on the web form).
How can I delete the cache after user clicks submit, and ensure that the form reloads fresh, after submit?
I am using accordians. I want that if someone click on hyperlink inside the accordion , then that accordion should slide up slowly and only after that the nect accordion falls down or open
$(".accord").live('click', function(){
$('#rr1').next().slideUp('slow');
$('#rr3').next().slideDown('slow');
But i have seen that the other accordion starts opening up at the same time when the other is closing.
It it something related to asynchronous thing. I don't know
});
Here is my code so far:
$(document).ready(function(){
$("#slider").click(function() {
$("#insight").animate({ top: "25px",}, 300, function() {
$("#insight").animate({ top: "89px",}, 300);
});
});
});
I want this to act like .toggle(), where by on click #div1 slides up to top:25px and then stops, but when clicked again slides down to top:89px.
Can anyone expand the function above to achieve this?
I have a grouped table view that does not need to scroll. I'd like each cell to highlight as the user moves their finger down the screen and call didSelectRowAtIndexPath on release.
This behaviour can be seen done by apple in 'settings mail add account'?
I can't seem to replicate it myself, all I can get is the default, where the cell deselects as soon as the user moves their finger.
Hi.
As I know, it is possible to add my app's info on incoming call screen on Android. (As WhitePage's CallerId)
There are posts about it but I didn't see any good sample or instructions on how to do that.
Can anyone write down a good example for that?
Thanks.
What would be the preferred way to convert opacity (0 - 1) to hex (00 - ff) in Javascript?
My thoughts are to use an if statement to check if opacity is between 1 and 0.95 then use ff. Work my way down to 0.
I am building an iphone app and would like to keep track of how many times it has been opened so that I can prompt the user to do certain actions after it has been opened X number of times. I have thought about storing a variable in Core Data which I update every time it is opened, but this seems like a waste since it is a singleton data, not multiple instances of an object. What is the best way to store data like this and access it without slowing down the app opening time?
jQuery:
$('.btn.options').click(function() {
$(this).toggleClass('options-on');
$("#options").slideToggle("fast");
});
... works great, but when I enclosed both the buttons and the panel in tag, the panel won't slide up/down anymore?
Thanks for your help!
If I want to set up a smallish Mercurial repository for some internal work among a few developers, can I just navigate to a network share and create a repository there, and then just clone that down locally? Or do I need to set up a server (I know, it's easy to do).
This is Windows by the way.
I'm curious how I can create a DIV (or anything really) that I can fade (or change opacity of) when a user scrolls down the page. This DIV would sit at the top of the page, but only be clearly visible when at the very top of the page.
Additionally, it would be ideal if I I could have this element fade back in onmouseover, regardless of the current scrolled position on the page.
I've just set up a fail-over DNS to switch the site to a second host if the first is down. This is great for showing an old / archived version of the site, but I suspect maintenance is going to be a real pain.
I moved the files over with rsync in the first place. Is this the kinda thing that could be run as a cron job, automatically moving over newer files?
I'm developing a multiclient-server program with Java based on GUI and database. The demand regarding the program from the client side is to make sure all the time that there is a connection to the server, and if the connection is lost (server goes down/problem with socket or stream) it should be notified.
In other words I need a solution for continuously checking the connection to the server.
What is the best way to do that ?
I am converting from YUI to jQuery and can't see a way to load the results of the autocomplete into a div or other such container.
I want to be able to populate a div with formatted results, including an image based on the return, not just a simple drop down from the input.
I am using the registration form that is already available in the user manager option in my website.
But once I click on the register button I get this message:
Server error The website encountered an error while retrieving
http://prachi.matrimony4me.in/index.php/sample-sites-2?task=registration.register.
It may be down for maintenance or configured incorrectly. Here are
some suggestions: Reload this webpage later. HTTP Error 500 (Internal
Server Error): An unexpected condition was encountered while the
server was attempting to fulfill the request.
Under certain circumstances, I wish to display an error message to the user if the application didn't shut down, but MessageBox.Show() doesn't actually do anything after calling Application.Exit(). Is there a way to convince it to show a dialog after Application.Exit()?
I need to round times down to the nearest quarter hour in PHP. The times are being pulled from a MySQL database from a datetime column and formatted like 2010-03-18 10:50:00.
Example:
10:50 needs to be 10:45
1:12 needs to be 1:00
3:28 needs to be 3:15
etc.
I'm assuming floor() is involved but not sure how to go about it.
Thanks
I have a zip code lookup service and I'm worried about any possible timeouts or the server being down.
If I don't get any HTTP Response after 20-25s of the initial request I would want to respond with a JSON signifying it failed:
({ success:0 })
Would anyone know if it's possible/easy to strip down Eclipse or Netbeans to its bare core (project tree + code window) and run it as an applet in the browser? How-to hints appreciated.
PS: it's for a simple online IDE
