  • Viewing local websites on my iOS device over Wi-fi

    - by John
Trying to view some local html/css/js files in a mobile browser on my iOS device. Thought maybe file-sharing would be an option, and is, but I'm not completely satisfied with it. Any time I try to do the following an error occurs. Web sharing is on and available at http://192.168.1.101/~user but I have to manually copy the files in. If I try to symlink a folder in so that the address could be viewed at ''~user/some_dir by issuing $ ln -s /Users/user/dev/some_dir ~/Sites/ then I get a 403 forbidden error. I've tried to remedy this by modifying a user.conf file in /private/etc/apache2/ and using the following syntax: <Directory "/Users/user/Sites/"> Options Indexes MultiViews SymLinks AllowOverride None Order allow, deny Allow from all </Directory> but nope, still doesn't work. I get a 403 error. If I try to symlink each individual file in instead of using a directory as a sub-directory, same error. Any help would be greatly appreciated! I'd just like to symlink directories into the ~/Sites one and browse them on my iOS device over wifi. I'm on OS X 10.7 Lion trying to connect with iOS 5.

  • Set background of UITableview in interface builder?

    - by Martin
In iPhone I need to set the background view of a UITableview. From 3.2 SDK I can in code use something like: [self.tableView setBackgroundView:[[UIImageView alloc] initWithImage:[UIImage imageNamed:@"mycustombackground.png"]]]; But how can I do the same in interface builder? It would be great if I could just set the background view directly in interface builder. But can't seem to find this property, where is it? Thanks!

    - by slooker
I have a view that I'm trying to load in Swift like this, but it crashes with this error: 'NSInternalInconsistencyException', reason: '-[UIViewController _loadViewFromNibNamed:bundle:] loaded the "DetailView" nib but the view outlet was not set.' Here is the code I'm trying to use to load it. Second View Controller import UIKit class DetailViewController: UIViewController { @IBOutlet var nameField: UITextField override func viewDidLoad() { super.viewDidLoad() } } Code to load the view controller: var newViewController = DetailViewController() @IBAction func buttonTapped(AnyObject) { println("button tapped!") self.presentViewController(newViewController, animated: true, nil) } What am I doing wrong?

  • matplotlib - changing rect colours on the fly

    - by Nick
I am playing with matplotlib - I have a bar chart, and I want to highlight the bar which user clicks. I have a callback that goes through a rect collection (the one I got from self.axis.bar(...)) and finds out which one was clicked (looking at the coordinates). At this point I want to call something to change the colour of the current bar. Is it possible? How do I do that?

  • Is there an ActiveRecord equivalent to using a nested subquery i.e. ... where NOT IN(select...) ?

    - by Snorkpete
I have 3 models: Category, Account, and SubAccount The relations are: Accounts has_many :sub_accounts Categories has_many :sub_accounts I wanted to get a list of all Categories that are not used by a given account. My method in the Category model currently looks like: class Category < ActiveRecord::Base def self.not_used_by(account) Category.find_by_sql("select * from categories where id not in(select category_id from sub_accounts where account_id = #{account.id})") end end My question is, is there a cleaner alternative than using SQL? NB. I am currently using Rails 3(beta)

  • Python List length as a string

    - by mvid
Is there a preferred (not ugly) way of outputting a list length as a string? Currently I am nesting function calls like so: print "Length: %s" % str(len(self.listOfThings)) This seems like a hack solution, is there a more graceful way of achieving the same result?

  • Whats the easiest way to convert a long in C to a char*?

    - by dh82
What is the clean way to do that in C? wchar_t* ltostr(long value) { int size = string_size_of_long(value); wchar_t *wchar_copy = malloc(value * sizeof(wchar_t)); swprintf(wchar_copy, size, L"%li", self); return wchar_copy; } The solutions I came up so far are all rather ugly, especially allocate_properly_size_whar_t uses double float base math.

  • Show NSSegmentedControl menu when segment clicked, despite having set action

    - by enchilada
My question is based on another question. Instead of repeating a bunch of stuff, I hope it's okay that I refer you to that other question instead: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/1203698/show-nssegmentedcontrol-menu-when-segment-clicked-despite-having-set-action/ My question is: How would the code within [self showGearMenu] look like, i.e. how would one actually use the popUpContextMenu:withEvent:forView method to accomplish what the poster of the other question wants? I ask because it seems that the question was resolved for the poster, but he never shared with us how he actually popped up the menu :)
