Is there a master zip code list for download (that is free) or are there any web services that will return the full postage info for an address.     I'm working on some C code filled with macros like this: #define SAFE_FREE(x) do { if ((x) != NULL) {free(x); x=NULL;} } while(0) Can anyone explain what this macro does, and why do {} while(0) is needed? Wouldn't that just execute the code once?

  • Cocoa & Cocoa Touch. How do I create an NSData object from a plain ole pointer?

    I have malloc'd a whole mess of data in an NSOperation instance. I have a pointer: data = malloc(humungous_amounts_of_god_knows_what); uint8_t* data; How do I package this up as an NSData instance and return it to the main thread? I am assuming that after conversion to an NSData instance I can simply call: free(data); Yes? Also, back on the main thread how do I retrieve the pointer? Thanks, Doug

I want to learn from the user of setters and getters, $this-, constructors, and so on...! Can anyone please suggest me something? I noticed MOST teachings leave out the explanation of $this-. I want to learn magic methods, decorators, encapsulation, etc... Feel free to suggest something that I haven't explicitly listed.

    There was this old sql server tool called Lectoneth or something like that, you'd put sql queries in it, and it would rewrite it for you. I think quest bought them out, but I can't find where to download a free copy of that software. Really helps when you have no dba, and have lots of sql queries to rewrite. Thanks Craig
