I need to write a rich text editor similar to Google Doc. Does anyone know any samples of similar projects? What technologies will I need? and what process is involved?
I am just wondering if it's possible to I cancel "Drag and Drop" operation in Java/Swing programmatically? So the effect would be similar to if the user pressed the "ESC" key?
I was expecting DragSourceDragEvent or DragSourceContext to have a cancelDrag() method, similar to DropTargetDragEvent which has acceptDrag() and rejectDrag() methods (both of which does not do what I want).
I am missing something?
Hi,
which open source software options exist for generating terminal graphics? I mean, there is for instance the nice matplotlib, which can generate beautiful plots from data, in PNG or similar formats. But there are similar alternatives for generating just kind of ascii graphics?
Thanks
I've been convinced that I should learn another language (primarily PHP/Javascript oriented) and decided on Java.
I learned my basics of PHP, years ago, from www.w3schools.com and Javascript from another similar site (since taken down) that had a series of tutorials that took you from nothing to something.
Is there a similar site for Java? Is there a recommended IDE (Eclipse?) and site to learn?
Looking to use FastLZ in Python, or something similar. Tried Google and didn't find anything. Wondering if there is another algorithm with similar performance available in Python?
Is there a function in PHP that can decode, for example "\u00ed" to "í" and all other similar occurrences?
I found similar question here but is doesn't seem to work.
In the Lucene query syntax I'd like to combine * and ~ in a valid query similar to:
bla~* //invalid query
Meaning: Please match words that begin with "bla" or something similar to "bla".
Since my last question was deleted without giving me a chance to reply: I want to build a similar rss parser feed to: http://misc.inexistent.org/ontd/
Can anyone give me really good tutorials that I could build a similar iphone app for my rss feed.
I can see it uses jquery, javascript, and ajax.
If any can check out the code to head me in the right direction.
Thanks!
I need to analyze a document and compile statistics as to how many times each a sequence of words is used (so the analysis is not on single words but of batch of recurring words). I read that compression algorithms do something similar to what I want - creating dictionaries of blocks of text with a piece of information reporting its frequency.
It should be something similar to http://www.codeproject.com/KB/recipes/Patterns.aspx
Do you have anything written in C#?
Hi,
I am very new to Python, I need to read numbers from a file and store them in a matrix like I would do it in fortran or C;
for i
for j
data[i][j][0]=read(0)
data[i][j][1]=read(1)
data[i][j][2]=read(2)
...
...
How can I do the same in Python? I read a bit but got confused with tuples and similar things
If you could point me to a similar example it would be great
thanks
You always read in changelogs when your system or browser or any program updates that they fixed a bug that made possible that an attacker can execute any code in your computer with a forged website, or attacking your computer with carefully forged packets, etc...
Because you read it so often that means any program can have similar vulnerabilites... What causes this? how to design our programs to prevent similar issues?
I have a 20 gig table that has a large amount of inserts and updates daily. This table is also frequently searched. I'd like to know if the MySQL indices can become fragmented and perhaps need to be rebuilt or something similar.
I'm finding it difficult to figure out which of the CHECK TABLE, REPAIR TABLE or something similar?
Any guidance appreciated, I'm a db newb.
I doubt if this is encryption but I can't find a better phrase. I need to pass a long query string like this:
http://test.com/test.php?key=[some_very_loooooooooooooooooooooooong_query_string]
The query string contains NO sensitive information so I'm not really concerned about security in this case. It's just...well, too long and ugly. Is there a library function that can let me encode/encrypt/compress the query string into something similar to the result of a md5() (similar as in, always a 32 character string), but decode/decrypt/decompress-able?
We've got a C++ Project that currently uses Make on Linux to build. I'd like to automate it similar to a Java Project under CruiseControl.
1) Is there a project similar to CruiseControl for C++ projects?
OR
2) Is there a good "how-to" on using CruiseControl for C++ Projects?
Hi folks.
I'm just putting together a simple nav bar using something similar to this tutorial:
http://www.cssnewbie.com/horizontal-dropdown-menus/
The thing is, that I'd like to have the children lists first item to line up directly below the parent. Right now, they just go wherever I float them. Is there a way to do this without absolute positioning?
I'd like to achieve something similar to what these guys have in their top nav bar:

I recently played with MongoDB in Rails using Mongoid. I like the ability to define attributes for models within the model file (as opposed to in migrations):
class Person
include Mongoid::Document
field :name, :type => String
field :birthday, :type => Date
end
For projects that cannot use a schema-less database, does a similar feature exist? Any gems or plugins that generate schemas from a similar syntax would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

Hi,
I'm looking for an HTTP Proxy/GUI combination that should be installed locally on my Windows PC. The UI should display something similar to Firebugs "Network" tab, showing request/response headers and content as plaintext.
It would be cool if I could attach requests to a sort of node for later comparison, similar to what you can do when using the Proxy that comes with JMeter.
We are developing a very complex eCommerce portal using asp.net c# and the client asked us to make the documentation very similar (look & feel) with ebay api documentation http://developer.ebay.com/DevZone/shopping/docs/CallRef/GetSingleItem.html
Do you have any idea what kind of tool they are using and if not do you know anything that can be configured to produce a similar result ?
Thank you in advance !

I realize there is a similar question to this, but it really has no information in it. I want to retrieve the currently playing song title (similar to MSN Messenger) within a C# app. The Windows Media Player I want to control is EXTERNAL- that is, it is running on the computer, not within the app. Anyway to do this?
I have an idea i thinking of creating a website whereby a traveler can exchange itinerary activities and form their own ideal itinerary.
Any ideas? Has a similar website been done? Is it worth coming up with another similar application?
Many websites have a feature that suggests items based upon what you're currently typing. For example, here on Stack Overflow you are suggested similar questions as you type a question title. How can I do something similar to this?
Hi,
I started to use SysInternals suite, and it is great. But I wonder, whether there is any analog of TCPvcon, which allows to logon to remote machine, like psexec does, and then get list of TCP connections from there (similar to pslist functionality), and then to close some of connections (similar to pskill functionality).
I am speaking about windows console tools and I would like to avoid installing something on remote machine is this is possible.
I am trying to create a similar way to Cpanel password protect directory, where a pop up comes out asking the user for a username and a password, but Cpanel way is amazing but my client doesn't know anything on how to do that, so i wanted to create a pop up msgbox informing the visitor to enter a user name and a password, and i totaly confused on how to create it, and which programming language support similar to CPanel
