  • Photoshop CS6 - spacebar shortcut for hand tool has stopped working

    In Photoshop CS6, the default behavior of depressing the spacebar as a shortcut for the Hand tool was working as expected, then stopped for no apparent reason. I have rebooted, closed browsers, shut down all other applications and deleted preferences and the problem persists. The spacebar works properly elsewhere, including Photoshop CS4. Is there a keyboard shortcut setting I'm missing (I've checked Edit - Keyboard Shortcuts and can find nothing for the spacebar, and can not add it to the Hand tool). This is on OSX Lion 10.7.4

  • GUI tool to extract iso file contents on Linux (KDE)

    I have an ISO CD image file and want to extract it's contents to a folder. I know there are ways to mount the image and stuff, but it's complicated. I'm looking for a GUI tool to open up the contets and extract needed files. On windows I would use WinRar to do this. K3B only allows me to burn the stuff, Arch does not work with ISO files :( Is there a similar tool on Linux, preferably from KDE world?

  • Mass Checksumming tool for Windows?

    Hi, I'm looking for a command line tool for windows that will go over a directory tree (recursively) and output a list of all the files in there, and a checksum for each file (can be CRC, MD5, whatever). Esentially, what I want is to compare 2 big directory trees in 2 machines. I'm planning to take the outputs of running this tool in both, and diffing them to make sure they're identical. I appreciate any ideas.

  • Hardware testing tool/suite

    Hi All, I just bought a new core i5 system (assembled) and started installing Windows 7. It was failing for many times and at some point got installed. After that, frequent crashes related to MEMORY. So checked the RAM using memtest86+ and found many errors.I got it replaced with the vendor and now if i install ANY OS, at some point in installation it either freezes completely with no response for hours, or restarts automatically. I tried installing Windows 7, Windows Vista and Ubuntu 9.10. I tested the new RAM again and found no problems in about 2 passes using memtest86+. I even updated the BIOS using bootable USB and even the problem persists. I am really not sure which hardware is causing trouble. I dont have any OS inside it, so i have to check using bootable CDs DVDs and USB only. Please advice on how to proceed. Are there any suites/ separate tools for checking integrity of each hardware parts and troubleshoot it? I wanted to confirm which part is problematic before going for replacement. Thanks a lot!   • Best windows tool to scan and repair harddisk

    Does anybody know a good software tool to scan and repair sectors on harddisks (an alternative to the standard that is included with windows e.g. scandisk/chkdsk)?     Has anybody had any experience using XXClone as a tool for cloning an existing installation of Windows in order to move it from an old PATA drive to a new, larger SATA without having to reinstall everything? Did you have any problems? Or can you recommend an alternative (free) software tool that you know - preferably from repeated experience - is reliable? I'm looking to move Windows XP Home SP3 to a new disk: same file system, same partition size. Thanks for looking.

  • Cannot get Windows snipping tool to auto run with AutoHotKey

    I am trying to get Windows 7 sniping tool to run when I hit my PRINTSCREEN keyboard button with AUTOHOTKEY. I have been unsuccessful so far though. Here is what I have for the AutoHotKey script. I have tried this PRINTSCREEN::Run, c:\windows\system32\SnippingTool.exe and this PRINTSCREEN::Run, SnippingTool.exe and this PRINTSCREEN::Run, SnippingTool And all those give me this error when I hit the PRINTSCREEN button... It basicly says it cannot find the file, however the file path seems to be correct, I can copy paste it into a window and it opens the snipping tool, any ideas why it will not work?     I do in file search a lot, and used to love grep. Then I learn the existence of egrep, so I switched to benefit from the advanced regexp. Then I discovered the Eclipse search tool. Much easier to use that grep. Then I found ack : fast, easy, powerful. And now I use grin, which is smooth for pythonistas. I know there is also a couple of this kind of tools with a GUI. So what tool do you use, and why do you think it's the best. Practical features generally are : fast to fire and use; speedy processing; automatically ignore useless files; colored output; output lines, filename, context; allow complex regexp; allow a custom filtering and ouput; GUI + command line intergation; let you open an editor from the result set. Specifically, I like: code obfuscation their usage analytics tamper detection/notification shelf-life enforcement Now, I know that there's lots of alternatives to the first, some of which are free, but are there alternatives to the others? It's not that I don't want to pay the cost of dotfuscator suite, but I want to be informed before I write the cheque.
