Can anyone provide me with a script for creating a huge database (for example, 2 GB of data) in IBM Informix Dynamic Server (IDS) version 11.50.FC4 on a Linux RHEL 64-bit machine?
Understanding that passing Datasets through web services is a bit heavy (and almost if not completely unconsumable to non .NET clients) what is the best way to prep database query results that don't map to known types for transport through web services in c#?
We have a client who has requested a new project with development to be done on a CREON terminal (Spectra Technologies). Can anyone recommend some good resources about terminal and in particular CREON development. Or know of a reputable development team specializing in CREON development. I have done a fair bit of googling / binging without much success.
I want to put a dynamically generated icon (not static image) + possibly a tiny bit of text in OSX menu bar.
If possible I'd prefer to do it from Ruby or some other convenient scripting language, but I'll deal with Objective C if that's the only way.
How do I do that?
Hey!
I have a cool bit of dojo running where I click a button - and it brings a success message on the screen via javascript. Is it possible to issue a call to a server side Groovy script foo.groovy from within this Javascript - because not only do I want to show the cool success message - but I need to do some work in the background at that point also.
Thanks
Andy
I know the title sound confusing and thats because it is. its a bit long so try too stay with me.
this is the layout i have my code designed
variables
constructor
methods.
im trying too fill a Jlist full on names. i want too get those names using a method. so here goes.
in my variables i have my JList. its called contactNames;
i also have an array which stores 5 strings which are the contacts names;
heres the code for that anyway
String contact1;
String contact2;
String contact3;
String contact4;
String contact5;
String[] contactListNames;
JList contactList;
simple enough. then in my constructor i have the Jlist defined to fill itself with the contents of the array
fillContactList();
JList contactList = new JList(contactListNames);
that method fillContactList() is coming up shortly. notice i dont have the array defined in the constructor. so heres my first question. can i do that? define the array to contain something in te constructor rather than filling it fromt the array.
now heres where stuff gets balls up.
ive created three different methods all of which havent worked. basically im trying to fill the array with all of them.
this is the simplest one. it doesnt set the Jlist, it doesnt do anything compilicated. all it trys too do is fill the array one bit at a time
public void fillContactList()
{
for(int i = 0;i<3;i++)
{
try
{
String contact;
System.out.println(" please fill the list at index "+ i);
Scanner in = new Scanner(System.in);
contact = in.next();
contactListNames[i] = contact;
in.nextLine();
}
catch(Exception e)
{
e.printStackTrace();
}
}
}
unfortunately this doesnt qwork. i get the print out to fill it at index 0; i input something and i get a nice big stack trace starting at
contactListNames[i] = contact;
so my two questions in short are
how i define an array in a constructor.
and why cant i fill the array from that method.

During a phone interview someone asked the question, "When looking at code, what the first thing that stands out to let you know its from a good/experienced developer".
I believe my answer was sufficient, just thought it was a bit strange so Im curious how some of you would answer?
Aspxcombobox populating on the fly works fine with IE, but with others browsers, when using arrow keys for navigation, the second depended control, always has value for the first next and not for the current, so I have a bit of delay ...
I'd like to use System.Net.IPAddress.TryParse to validate IPv6 addresses because I don't want to write my own reg exp :-)
However, this seems to allow strings such as "(validIPv6)](anythingatallhere)" - for example, "1234::5678:abcd]whargarbl".
Is there a reason for these being valid, or is this a fault?
This is further complicated by the fact that I actually want only strings of the form "[(validIPv6)]:(portnumber)" so I'm going to have to do a bit of validation myself.
I am trying to use Aspose.Words library through COM Interop. There is one critical problem: I cannot set color. It is supposed to work by assigning to DocumentBuilder.Font.Color, but when I try to do it I get OLE error 0x80131509. My problem is pretty much like this one: http://bit.ly/cuvWfc
Hello
I'm looking to implement a system for tweeting directly from my site backend, which is written in PHP 5. I have a script from the internet that I can adapt, but I'm concerned that when Twitter switches to Oauth only, I'll be out in the cold.
Basically, I'm hoping someone can point me toward a script/tutorial that will let me do the following:
access twitter via the Oauth system
Post Tweets and receive error codes
Let me define an application/site name (I'm a bit fuzzy on whether Twitter allows this)
Ideally I need all 3 points explained in detail.
Thanks
I have a solution with just under 100 projects in it, a mix of C++ and C# (mostly C#). When working in VS2005, the working set of Visual Studio is considerably smaller than that of VS2010.
I was wondering if there are some things that can be turned off, so I can develop in VS2010 under 32-bit OS without running out of memory.
What open source (preferably gem-based) parser-generator options do I have in Ruby?
I've used (flex&bison)|(lex&yacc) from C in the past, and I'm comfortable with BNF-style specifications.
I've heard of treetop, but it looks a bit alien and verbose compared to yacc...
Purpose: I want to convert my text markup language to a BNF and generate the parsing code. I think it's a better strategy than my first-order solution: http://github.com/dafydd/semantictext/blob/master/lib/semantictext/rich_text_parser.rb
Just wondering if there are any good tutorials on PHP/MySQL on the web that's free. I looked at youtube and the tutorials they have there are a bit too easy.
Ok so i'm executing the following line of code in javascript
RegExp('(http:\/\/t.co\/)[a-zA-Z0-9\-\.]{8}').exec(tcont);
where tcont is equal to some string like 'Test tweet to http://t.co/GXmaUyNL' (the content of a tweet obtained by jquery).
However it is returning, in the case above for example, 'http://t.co/GXmaUyNL,http://t.co/'.
This is frustracting because I want the url without the bit on the end - after and including the comma.
Any ideas why this is appearing? Thanks
If you scroll down this page a bit, you'd see UK English hyphenation patterns like:
\patterns{ % just type <return> if you're not using INITEX
.ab4i
.ab3ol
.ace4
.acet3
.ach4
.ac5tiva
What do these patterns like .ab4i mean?
Hi sirs,
I am writing one web chat program using AJAX (a little bit). It is working when both users open a chat page, but I want to open a window when one user send data to others.
Almost all is dialed in except then I click the pause/play button, the current activeSlide div doesn't fade in on rollover like the other slides do. Bit at a loss to figure out why it's not allowing hover even though it works when the cycle is not manually paused (i.e. when just rolling over the pager numbers).
Thanks for any guidance!

Hello,
On my server, I have following setting:
open_basedir
/home/
:/usr/lib/php
:/usr/local/lib/php
:/tmp/
:/usr/local/
:/usr/bin
Now, I am little bit confused about ending / in the / home / setting, does that mean that all subfolders inside home have same rights? or does it mean that only home files can be accessed?
So, basically what is the main difference between:
/home/
and
/home
With example if possible
Thank you in advance.
Hi
A Flash program is connecting to WCF web service hosted on a server without anti-virus and without firewall and windows server 2003 64 bit environment.
The flash return Connection failed message
When I sniffer it I found that the Flash program cannot find these requests,
http://IP:2805/BLL.svc?xsd=xsd1
http://IP:2805/BLL.svc?xsd=xsd0
The strange thing is that the service work fine with asp.net.
also the same service deployed on another server, just work fine!!
Is there a work around.
Thanks
Mac OS X Leopard has a virtual desktop implementation called Spaces. I want to programatically detect which space the user is currently on.
Cocoa is preferable but AppleScript is acceptable if there's no other way.
I've seen a couple of AppleScript implementations, but the techniques they used seemed a bit too hacky to use in production code (one relied on causing and error and then parsing the error message to get the current space, the other interrogated the Spaces menu GUI)
This may be a bit of an abstract question, so apologies in advance.
I am looking into generics in .NET, and was wondering about the where T : struct constraint.
I understand that this allows you to restrict the type used to be a value type. My question is, without any type constraint, you can do a limited number of operations on T.
Do you gain the ability to use any additional operations when you specify where T : struct, or is the only value in restricting the types you can pass in?
I'm having a problem in that whenever I start a emulator, either manually through the command line, or when debugging from Eclipse, it is never recognized by adb, i.e. 'adb devices' will not list it. I have to manually kill and restart adb every time I want to recognize a new emulator. Surely, something is wrong here?
(I'm on Vista 64-bit)
I am finding myself doing the following a bit too often:
attr = getattr(obj, 'attr', None)
if attr is not None:
attr()
# Do something, either attr(), or func(attr), or whatever
else:
# Do something else
Is there a more pythonic way of writing that? Is this better? (At least not in performance, IMO.)
try:
obj.attr() # or whatever
except AttributeError:
# Do something else
