  • GhostScript PDF Merging (Losing Editable Fields)

    - by Scott
I'm using GhostScript to merge to PDFs into one PDF. One of the PDFs has textbox fields (editable fields) that I created in Adobe Acrobat Pro 9. When I merge these two PDFs with GhostScript I lose the textbox fields. Is there any way to merge these files (using GS or some other free linux software) that keeps the textbox fields intact?

  • How do I make an object a property of a model in Ruby on Rails?

    - by iTake
I have this in my schema: create_table "robots_matches", :force => true do |t| t.integer "robot_id" t.integer "match_id" and I think I want to be able to load a robot and match from within my robots_match model so I can do something like this: robots_match.find(:id).get_robot().Name My attempt in the robots_matches model was this: def get_robot Robot.find(this.id) end I am super new to rails, so feel free to correct my architectural decision here.

  • C# loop - break vs. continue

    - by Terrapin
    In a C# (feel free to answer for other languages) loop, what's the difference between break and continue as a means to leave the structure of the loop, and go to the next iteration? Example: foreach (DataRow row in myTable.Rows){ if (someConditionEvalsToTrue) { break; //what's the difference between this and continue ? //continue; }}

  • Enumerating Environment keys with VBScript?

    - by Stabledog
I need to enumerate the keys in the WScript.Shell.Environment object. It's clear that if you already know the name of the key, you're home free with: Set oShell = WScript.CreateObject("WScript.Shell") Debug.WriteLine "PATH=" & oShell.Environment("PATH") ...but if you want to list the keys, it looks like you're out of luck! Is there a secret passageway somewhere?

  • Check if a pointer points to allocated memory on the heap.

    - by Ugo
Ok, I know this question seems to have been asked many times on stackoverflow. but please read Well the answer for any address is "No you can't" but the question here is to know if a pointer points to a piece of memory allocated with malloc/new. Actually I think it could be easily implemented overriding malloc/free and keeping track of allocated memory ranges. Do you know a memory management library providing this specific tool ?

    - by Michael
Given a file tree - a directory with directories in it etc, what software would you recommend to create a diagram of the file-tree as a graphic file that I can embed in a word processor document I prefer vector (SVG, EPS, EMF...) files. • What is a good program for storing “chunks” of commonly used source code

    - by Rob Wiley
I've looked at CodeLocker (poorly styled and relatively unflexible, but free) and Source Code Library (Overzone software - very nicely styled, looks flexible, but very expensive - $80). Ideally, I'm looking for a relatively simple, inexpensive program (not an online website) that I can save text data (source code) with a title and keywords, maybe even a description. It would also have some type of search functionality.

  • What the best multi-thread application debugger for C++ apps.

    - by Coredumped
I'm looking for a good multi-thread-aware debugger, capable of showing performance charts of application threads on Linux, don't know if such a thing exists, perhaps as a Eclipse plugin. The idea would be to track per thread memory allocation a CPU usage as well as being able to interrupt a thread and examine its stack trace, local vars, etc. It does not have to be an eclipse plugin or a free tool, do any of you have heard of something similar?
