  • jQuery: event that tracks click in browser autocomplete

    - by Fernando
    I have a keyup event on an input. This event works fine for auto complete when you select a value and press enter. But it doesn't work when you click at an auto complete value. Is there an event that i can use in such case? I already tried the change one but it doesn't work. Thanks! Edit: Maybe i was not clear but i am referring to the autocomplete feature that browsers have. I am not trying to build my own. Example: I have the following event: $('.product').keyup(searchByProduct); When user clicks at this input the old values that he already typed shows up ( it's the browser that does this ). If he clicks on one of the values, the function searchByProduct is not called. Which event do i have to register to track this click ( and that the input content has changed )?

I need to be able to call the remove function via toggle() and blur(). I'm sure something exists for this... Thanks in advance for any help!

    - by knappy
    I cannot get scroll to work, here is the complete stuff: http://zed.mit.edu/scroll2/buc.php I'm trying to refresh the page while maintaining the scroll position of the iframe inside. I'd like to have an alert when I actively scroll the iframe, these two both fail: $(top).frames['#iframe_bucinid'].scroll(function() .... $('#iframe_bucinid').scroll(function() ... The page's iframe is defined as: <iframe class="inframe" src="bucin.php" name="bucin" id="iframe_bucinid"> Notice that getting the scrollTop works with top.frames['bucin'].document.body.scrollTop

  • jQuery noob: change border color of element on hover of another element.

    - by Kyle Sevenoaks
    I'd try to explain what I mean, but there is an easier way: click here for jsfiddle example. Basically I want the border color of the div rfrsh_btn to change when productOptionsMenu is hovered over. I'm using jQuery with the .noConflict var because this site also uses Prototype. jQuery: var $j = jQuery.noConflict(); $j(".productOptionsMenu").hover( function () { $j(#rfrsh_btn).css({"border-color":"#85c222"}); }; ); Thanks :)

  • jQuery UI - Accordion Display issues

    - by Dave Kiss
    My accordion is working properly, but I'm having a few CSS and JS issues that are prohibiting it from displaying correctly. http://jsfiddle.net/frEWQ/ The JS is applying .ui-corners-all to the H3 before the "kwick" div below it has finished collapsing, giving an odd cut-off border during the animation The margin-bottom applied to the "kwick" div to give spacing between each tab disappears when the tab is set to display:none, getting rid of the spacing... but I can't apply the margin-bottom to the header because it disconnects the header from the "kwick" div below it. Any suggestions? Modification to the JS/CSS? Thanks

  • jquery radio button group problem

    - by user198937
    Hi, I have a radio group which is validated for required. It works fine except when in certain cases I need to disabled first radio button leaving user to select one from remaining. Even in this case radios are validated but error message is not displayed. I believe its due to error message's association with first radio. Disabling other radio except first works fine too. Is there way around?

  • Quick question about jQuery selector content efficiency

    - by serg
    I am loading HTML page through ajax and then doing a bunch of searches using selectors: $.ajax({ ... dataType: "html", success: function(html) { $("#id1", html); $(".class", html); //... } } Should I extract $(html) into a variable and use it as a content, or it doesn't matter (from performance point)? success: function(html) { $html = $(html); $("#id1", $html); $(".class", $html); //... }

  • jQuery - get a list of values of an attribute from elements of a class

    - by Ankur
    I have a class called object which has an element called 'level'. I want to get a list of all the different values of level on the page so I can select the highest one. If I do something like: $(".object").attr("level") will that get me a list of values that are the values of the level attribute? I suspect not, but then how do you do something like that. Note: I don't want to select an HTML object for manipulation as is more common, rather I want to select values of the attribute.

  • IE 8 prompts user on "slow" jQuery script

    - by Jason
    I have a form with over 100 list items that I must reorder on submit. The following code works to reorder my list without any apparent problems in Firefox; however, IE prompts with the message "A script on this page is causing Internet Explorer to run slowly. If it continues to run, your computer may become unresponsive. Do you want to abort the script?" If the user clicks 'No', the script will work as expected. var listitems = $(form).find('li').get(); listitems.sort(function(a, b) { var compA = $(a).attr('id'); var compB = $(b).attr('id'); return (compA - compB); }); Any ideas on how to make this more efficient?

  • Slow Response in checkbox using JQuery

    - by Dean
    Hi to all. I'm trying to optimize a website. The flow is i tried to query a certain table and all of its data entry in a page(w/ toolbars), work fine. When i tried to edit the page the problem is when i click the checkbox button i have to wait 2-5sec just by clicking it. I limit the viewing of entry to 5 only but the response on checkbox doesn't change. The tables have 100 entries in them. function checkAccess(celDiv,id) { var celValue = $(celDiv).html(); if (celValue==1) $(celDiv).html("<input type='checkbox' value='"+$(celDiv).html()+"' checked disabled>") else $(celDiv).html("<input type='checkbox' value='"+$(celDiv).html()+"' disabled>") $(celDiv).click ( function() { $('input',this).each( function(){ tr_idx = $('#detFlex1 tbody tr').index($(this).parent().parent().parent()); td_idx = $('#detFlex1 tbody tr:eq('+tr_idx+') td').index($(this).parent().parent()); td_last = 13; for(var td=td_idx+1; td<=td_last;td++) { if ($(this).attr('checked') == true) { df[0].rows[tr_idx].cell[td_idx] = 1;//index[1] = Full Access if (td_idx==3) { df[0].rows[tr_idx].cell[td] = 1; } df[0].rows[tr_idx].cell[2] = 1; if (td_idx > 3) { df[0].rows[tr_idx].cell[2] = 1; } } else { df[0].rows[tr_idx].cell[td_idx] = 0;//index[0] = With Access if (td_idx==2) { df[0].rows[tr_idx].cell[td] = 0; } else if (td_idx==3) { df[0].rows[tr_idx].cell[td] = 0; } if (td_idx > 3) { df[0].rows[tr_idx].cell[3] = 0; } } } $('#detFlex1').flexAddData(df[0]); $('.toolbar a[title=Edit Item]').trigger('click'); }); } ); } I've thought that the problem is this above code.   • Jquery page turn with html or asp

    - by vishal
    I was asked by a client to create a bookflip (Page Turn) effect that did not require Flash. The imBookFlip plugin can load a book in an iframe or directly on the page. The book's pages can be set to turn when manually clicked only, begin auto flip (turn automatically) as soon as the html page loads, or begin auto flip when first page (front cover is clicked).

  • jQuery treat hover on two elements as one elements

    - by davewilly
    I have an image map which I have overlaid with some markers in the form of anchors. I currently have a hover trigger on each image map area and the associated anchor - as shown in screen shot I need to treat these two elements as one, as currently when mouse is moved out of one onto the other it calls .hover() and callback again. I want to call hover callback only when mouse is moved out of either elements.

    - by Madhur Ahuja
    Ok, Here is my problem: I have this function in a third party javascript library defined as RedirectLink(a,b,c,d,e) where a,b,c,d,e are strings. I also have a link in my webSite which is again autogenerated (And I can't change it) <a href="javascript: RedirectLink("1", "2", "3" ,"4" ,"5")" id="mylink" > What I need to do is, read this anchor's (mylink) href and I need to call RedirectLink function such as javascript: RedirectLink("1", "2", "3" + param, "4" , "5"). where param will come from query string. The first part is easy, reading the href but how to alter the third parameter ?
