When a UITextField with custom frame (200 × 54 px) loses focus, the text looks a little bit blurry.

Is this a common problem? Any workaround / solution or am I doing something wrong?
I do have a whole bunch of files in a directory and from every file I want to remove the first line (including carriage return). I can read the whole file into an array of strings and write all but the first element to a new file, but that looks a bit cumbersome to me are there better ways? Oh the prefered language is Perl.
I have a client asking about the rhomobile framework. I have been researching it a bit and wanted to see what the community at large thought about the framework and what, (if any), problems you came across in developing with it.
Thank you,
L.
I am using following code to resize the image.
Resize a UIImage Right Way
And I use interpolation quality as kCGInterpolationLow.
And then I use UIImageJPEGRepresentation(image,0.0) to get the NSData of that image.
Still its a little bit high in size around 100kb. when I send it over the network. Can I reduce it further. If I am to reduce it more what could I do ?
Thanks and Kind Regards,
Hello, All!
Is somebody have an experience using inheritance in PostgreSQL?
Is it worth to use it, or better to keep hands of :)?
In which situation you would use it?
To be true I'm a little bit in doubt about mixing relational and OO models...
I have a SQL Server Express edition with management studio and i'm trying to use the enterprise disks ("SQL Server 2005" Enterprise Edition 32-bit Server Applications") and I can't get it to give me the option of installing the server components or a server instance. What am I missing?
Hi,
I would like to know if you have any good books that teach C++ programming without repeating basic stuff. In fact, I already well know Java and C#. I also have a basic knowledge in C and assembly, so I understand a little bit pointer arithmetic, manual memory management and heap based allocation. I was looking at O'Reilly's C++ in a Nutshell and was also wondering if this book would be a good choice.
Thank you
I am trying to create a picture gallery in android, where picture in selection (in gallery) will be bigger in size, glow a little bit. Where as pictures not selected will be dull, and smaller in size. I tried gallery.setUnselectedAlpha() function to make images unselected dull, but it is not working. How to achieve the effect, please help.
Last night I had a script go a bit crazy and create a bunch of directories between 3:00 and 3:09am. Is there a quick one liner that will hunt these down and remove them for me?
I have an Oracle SQL query as part of a stored proc:
DELETE FROM item i WHERE NOT EXISTS (SELECT 1 FROM item_queue q WHERE q.n=i.n) AND NOT EXISTS (SELECT 1 FROM tool_queue t WHERE t.n=i.n);
A bit about the tables:
item contains about 10k rows with an index on the n column
item_queue contains about 1mil rows also with index on n column
tool_queue contains about 5mil rows indexed as well
I am wondering if the query/subqueries can be optimized somehow to make them run faster, I thought that deletes were generally fairly fast
I'm doing the first bit of web-page development I've done in years, in VS2008, using VB.net. I have a fairly simple layout, which is using several nested tables. IE6 displays the layout just fine, but Firefox for some reason shows the whole thing in a small panel at the top of the page, with a scrollbar. Can anyone suggest something basic I am likely missing?

I've never really used PowerShell before, and playing with it a bit, it looks like it uses cmd.exe's style of tab completion (fill in the first likely candidate, and then you can use tab to cycle through other alternatives). I'd much prefer the way e.g. bash works, where if there are multiple candidates, it shows a list of them.
Is there an easy way to turn this on, by any chance?
Apart from the fact that hashSet does not allow duplicate values, what is the difference between a HashMap and Hashset...?
I mean implementaion wise.....? It's a little bit vague because both use hash table to store values.....
The actual situation is a bit complicated, but the issue I'm running into is that I have an echo command within an eval command. Like so:
$ eval echo 'keep my spacing'
keep my spacing
$ echo 'keep my spacing'
keep my spacing
I was wondering how I could keep eval from stripping my spacing so that the first command prints out the same message as the second...
I've been using openCV quite a bit lately and I'm amazed at how fast it can process arrays.
Is it using a special type of optimization or relying on special features of the CPU ?
I'm on an Intel CPU btw.
Hi,
We have a bit of a SQL quandry. Say I have a results that look like this...
61E77D90-D53D-4E2E-A09E-9D6F012EB59C | A
61E77D90-D53D-4E2E-A09E-9D6F012EB59C | B
61E77D90-D53D-4E2E-A09E-9D6F012EB59C | C
61E77D90-D53D-4E2E-A09E-9D6F012EB59C | D
7ce953ca-a55b-4c55-a52c-9d6f012ea903 | E
7ce953ca-a55b-4c55-a52c-9d6f012ea903 | F
is there a way I can group these results within SQL to return as
61E77D90-D53D-4E2E-A09E-9D6F012EB59C | A B C D
7ce953ca-a55b-4c55-a52c-9d6f012ea903 | E F
Any ideas people?
Many thanks
Dave
Hi All,
I have code that uses a pre-compiled header. (previously done by someone else)
In it, they are including several .h files.
If I have classes that use common .h files that are not currently in the existing pre-compiled header, would tossing them in there be of any real benefit? Maybe compilation speed, but I was thinking it would clean up the classes/headers a bit too?
What are do's and don't with pre-compiled headers?
I have some strings that need a-strippin':
ÜT: 9.996636,76.294363
Tons of long strings of location codes. A literal regex in PHP won't match them, IE
$pattern = /ÜT:/;
echo preg_replace($pattern, "", $row['location']);
Won't match/strip anything. (To know it's working, /T:/ does strip the last bit of that string). What's the encoding error going on here?
Alternately, I would accept a concise way to take out just the numbers.
Hi,
I was wondering if it is possible to install or use any online service to measure your website's performance? I've seen many just checking the download speed of images, external files etc. But is it possible to meassure how long asp/php code takes to execute?
I have a site running a bit slowly, and it would be very nice with some app/service guiding where to optimize.
Hi,
I am very new to Python, I need to read numbers from a file and store them in a matrix like I would do it in fortran or C;
for i
for j
data[i][j][0]=read(0)
data[i][j][1]=read(1)
data[i][j][2]=read(2)
...
...
How can I do the same in Python? I read a bit but got confused with tuples and similar things
If you could point me to a similar example it would be great
thanks
Hi guys :)
Css "over" selector applys a temporary style to an element, it isn't definitive:
div:hover {
background-color: red;
}
I can use the same thing with javascript but it is a bit complicate and impossible for several elements:
var elem = document.getElementByTagName ("div")[0];
elem.onmouseover = function () {
this.style.backgroundColor = "red";
}
elem.onmouseout = function () {
this.style.backgroundColor = "transparent";
}
There is a better way ? Something like this:
document.getElementByTagName ("div")[0].ontemporarymouseover = function () { // LoL
this.style.backgroundColor = "red";
}
Thanks
I'm a bit confused, how can I create public and private members.
My code template so far is like:
(function()){
var _blah = 1;
someFunction = function() {
alert(_blah);
};
someOtherFunction = function {
someFunction();
}
}();
Hello recently I've been a bit curious and wanted to make a browser. I'd like to use an existing engine though such as Gecko or Webkit. Are there any resources on the web for how to get started and any examples? Language choice doesn't really matter(but no VB please. That was the only example code I found)
Hi,
I noticed that in MySQL, both VARCHAR and TEXT offer variable-sized data. Well, VARCHAR is a bit more efficient in data storage, but still, TEXT MEDIUMTEXT and LONGTEXT offer a lot more potential. So, what are the real uses of VARCHAR?
