If I remove it it works great. The problem is if I pull the click function out into it's own function and unit test it with qunit it will not work without the return false;

Canvas maximization bug?

I must've killed over an hour on what seems to me like strange behaviour that happens in Firefox, Safari and Chrome. I've tried using various ways of obtaining the document dimensions, including nesting canvas in a 100% wide & tall absolutely positioned div, as well as extracting the document.documentElement.clientWidth/Height properties. Just to be sure I'm not going insane, I've placed an image in place of the canvas, and voila, the same code worked perfectly to stretch the image out to document dimensions. What am I doing wrong here? I'm too tired to understand. Must.. drink.. something.

Heroku "We're sorry, but something went wrong." due to javascript_include_tag

Uploading my ruby on rails app to heroku causes the following error: We're sorry, but something went wrong. This does not occur on my local machine. After some debugging, I think I may have spotted the error, but do not know how to fix it. In my file application.html.erb, removing the following line solves the problem, but then my app loses its jquery mobile theme. Any ideas what I could do to fix the problem? How to use Node.js to build pages that are a mix between static and dynamic content?

All pages on my 5 page site should be output using a Node.js server. Most of the page content is static. At the bottom of each page, there is a bit of dynamic content. JSF h:outputStylesheet doesn't work everywhere

I'm currently learning Icefaces, now I'm trying to integrate a css file via h:OutputStylesheet into my code. I have a main page and a second page. Using outputStylesheet in my main page works well (and then I can also access the css in the second page, which I guess is intended). But when I try to integrate it in my second page it doesn't work at all. The code for both pages is basically identical. main page: <h:head></h:head> <h:body>  <h:outputStylesheet library="css" name="style.css" />  <div class="red">This is red color in main page</div> </h:body> second page: <h:head></h:head> <h:body>  <h:outputStylesheet library="css" name="style.css" />  <div class="red">This is red color in second page</div> </h:body> I've made sure that I have h:body and h:head tags in both files. There's nothing more in the html pages except the standard doctype and xml version declarations. I've tried packing everything into h:forms, but that doesn't change anything. Can anyone explain to me what's going on?

Should TcpClient be used for this scenario?

I have to communicate with an iPhone. I have its IP Address and the port (obtained via Bonjour). I need to send a header that is “0x50544833” (or similar, It’s an HEX number), then the size of the data (below) and then the data itself. The data is just a string that looks like this: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> <!DOCTYPE plist SYSTEM "http://www.apple.com/DTDs/PropertyList-1.0.dtd"> <plist version="1.0"> <dict> <key>clientName</key> <string>XXX</string> <key>clientService</key> <string>0be397e7-21f4-4d3c-89d0-cdf179a7e14d</string> <key>registerCode</key> <string>0000</string> </dict> </plist> The requirement also says that I must send the data in little endian format (which I think is the default for Intel anyway). So it would be: hex_number + size of data + string_with_the_above_xml. I need to send that to the iPhone and read the response. What would be, according to your experience, the best way to send this data (and read the response)?

The following DOM: <ul style="overflow: hidden;"> <li style="float: left;"><strong>SKU:</strong>123123</li> <li style="float: left;"><strong>ILC:</strong>asdasdasdasd</li> </ul> Or <div style="overflow: hidden;"> <div style="float: left; width: 49%"><strong>SKU:</strong>123123</div> <div style="margin-left: 50%; width: auto;"><strong>ILC:</strong>asdasdasdasd</div> </div> Or <p> <span><strong>SKU:</strong>123123</span> <span><strong>ILC:</strong>asdasdasdasd</span> </p> All present me an odd problem in IE 6 IE 7 Firefox 3.x Chrome But not in IE 8 When you double click '123123' after 'SKU:', it selects '123123' AND 'ILC:' from the next dom element. Take any text on this page (here in SO), double click a word, it only selects THAT WORD, even in the middle of a paragraph. These examples have dom elements closing them, anyone know why this is happening. My fellow employees use the 'double click' mechanism to select the relevant product ID's to do their job, and this dosen't make sense to me what soever.

CSS3 Border Radius property doesn't work in localhost?

I'm having a very strange problem with css3 border radius property. My following CSS and html works fine with IE9 if i double click the file and open with the IE9 , however if the border property does not work in IE if i open the file through LOCALHOST (xampp insatlled on windows 7). The same file works fine on localhost with other browsers. Firefox and Chrome do not support cross-domian ajax by default?

Parent-child height problem

tbody td borders not scrolling with content in tbody overflow:auto;

I am unable to get the borders of these td's to follow their rows as I scroll through this overflow:auto; . Any ideas on a fix? Note: Setting table-layout:fixed or making rows display:block isn't an option as the rows will lose their fluidity.. You can see the issue in the latest Firefox, so I assume it's messed up elsewhere. Javascript style variables with "-" in their name aren't able to be changed?

Okay, so this bug has cost me quite a bit of time and embarrassment. It seems that any style variable with a - in it's name can't be modified by javascript. As seen here: <!DOCTYPE html> <html lang="en"> <head> <title>Class Test</title> <meta charset="utf-8" /> <style> body { text-align: center; background-color: #ffffff;} #box { position: absolute; left: 610px; top: 80px; height: 50px; width: 50px; background-color: #ff0000; color: #000000;} </style> <script type="text/javascript"> var box = 0; </script> </head> <body> <div id="box" ></div> <script type="text/javascript"> box = document.getElementById('box'); box.style.background-color = "#0000ff"; </script> </body> </html> The box in said example will just remain red. So how do I change a style variable with a - in it's name?
