I have taken the idea of "language maintenance" a niche that no one is paying attention to and created a company focused on live conversation with complimentary tools. Looking to create a web 2.0 style social network with an already clearly defined brand identity, design and plan. Already have assembled a team but am looking for a passionate programmer to take the technical lead and create a functional alpha and beta.
I feel like I saw a site somewhere that would "dedupe" error messages commonly sent from frameworks like Django or cron errors. I cannot seem to re-find the site however. Have people heard of online tools like this that help wade through the hundreds of emails applications can possibly send at times?
Tools such as MRTG provide network throughput / bandwidth graphs for the current network utilisation on specific interfaces, such as eth0. How can I return that information at the command line on Linux/UNIX?
Preferably this would be without installing anything other than what is available on the system as standard.
Has anyone used Php frameworks just like we have in Python(Django) and Java(Spring).
I want to use something which has end to end solutions. ORM tools, transaction mangement, logging etc.
I am not sure how Cake is?
But, I am looking something very similar to Django in Php.

I'm in the process of learning SQL, and I need a way of verifying that my SQL queries are valid (i.e. no syntax errors). I also would like to check what results they yield on a test database of my choosing and structure.
I'm using embedded firebird in my C# .NET application, so I don't really have any tools to work with. Anyone have any tips? Perhaps there are SQL administrators/query IDEs out there that work with Firebird?
I'm currently writing some Java to wrap around an extensive command line tool. It feels like I'm writing a lot of similar code.
I'm wondering if there are any established patterns for wrapping command line tools - passing arguments and handling output and so on.
Specific examples in Java would obviously be great, but any general suggestions or pointers are welcome too.
Anyone know of any pre-existing tools out there what will highlight differences in output when running Django tests?
I'm comparing some JSON output and it's tough to find things like extra spaces. I was about to just copy and paste this into an existing diff tool but I figured this might be on someone's radar.
I have a directory with files like this
a.JPG
b.JPG
c.JPG
I would like to perform something like this
git mv a.JPG a.jpg
I tried using xargs and other tools but nothing seems to work.
I have been looking around at web applications and websites with rich graphs, charts, and data visualization and for the most part have been able to determine which frameworks or tools websites are using. However I was looking over 'resumup.com' and couldn't determine what they are using. Does anyone know off hand or can you tell? It doesn't seem like any javascript framework i've seen unless its custom...is it some sort of flash or flex framework? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Marques
I have a number of modules in CVS with different tags. How would I go about getting the name of the branch these tagged files exist on? I've tried checking out a file from the module using cvs co -r TAG and then doing cvs log but it appears to give me a list of all of the branches that the file exists on, rather than just a single branch name.
Also this needs to be an automated process, so I can't use web based tools like viewvc to gather this info.
Hi,
I would like create a very simple Paint application using MAF on WPF.
The Add Ins I would like to create are:
Main Image Processor - Shown the current paint
Tool Box - The user can select some types of drawings tools
Layers - The user can select the layers to display, delete layers and select on which layer to work on
the question is: How I can interact between the different Add-Ins without using the host?
Thanks,
Ronny
We are working on a hiring application and need the ability to easily parse resumes. Before trying to build one, was wondering what resume parsing tools are available out there and what is the best one, in your opinion? We need to be able to parse both Word and TXT files.
Hi,
sometimes after logging out and in again, my settings in Tools/Options/Projects and Solutions/VC++ Directories are lost.
To investigate the problem I tried to find the file where Visual Studio (2008 Team) stores those settings on disk. (Or is it in the registry?) Can anybody point me to where it is?
Thanks a lot!
I'm interested in people's thoughts comparing storing data in a traditional SQL based Database or utilising a Memory-Mapped File such as the one in the new .Net 4.0 runtime. The data in question would be arrays of simple structures.
Obvious pros and cons:
SQL Database Pros
Adhoc query support
SQL Management Tools
Schema changes (adding more columns and setting default values)
Memory-Mapped Pros
Lighter overhead? (this is an assumption on my part)
Shareable between process threads
Any others?
Is it worth it for performance gains?

I need a media information extraction library (pure Java or JNI wrapper) that can handle common media formats. I primarily use it for video files and I need at least these information:
Video length (Runtime)
Video bitrate
Video framerate
Video format and codec
Video size (width X height)
Audio channels
Audio format
Audio bitrate and sampling rate
There are several libraries and tools around but I couldn't find for Java.
I am graguating in dis may in electrical engg...but i would like to learn any one of the data ware housing tools....can any one please suggest me which is the best data ware housing tool for non-computer science graduates...so that it is easy to learn...and can get job...

My colleagues and I are looking for alternative client tools for Mac OS X.
I tend to prefer the text-based interface and we have PHPMyAdmin installed on our development servers (Linux).
What are your recommendations?
(One recommendation per answer please, so people can up-mod individual recommendations).
I am writing an app using PhoneGap for Android in Eclipse. Since the project is an Android project, it's in a Java perspective. For whatever reason, Eclipse won't highlight HTML and JavaScript for me while in an Android/Java project/perspective and switching to the JavaScript perspective doesn't highlight the code either. Without highlighting or debugging tools, the debug process is very slow.
How do I tell Eclipse to highlight HTML and JavaScript for me while working in a Java Environment?
Hi,
I want to know if there is any open source testing tool for cloud computing. We have built a cloud framework with Xen, Eucalyptus, Hadoop, HBase as different layers. I am not looking at testing each of these tools separately, but i want to test them from the perspective of fitting into a cloud environment (for example scalability of xen hypervisor to handle multiple VMs).
Would be great if you can suggest me some tool (open source) for the above.
Are there any algorithms or tools that can increase the resolution of an image - besides just a simple zoom that makes each individual pixel in the image a little larger?
I realize that such an algorithm would have to invent pixels that don't really exist in the original image, but I figured there might be some algorithm that could intelligently figure out what pixels to add to the image to increase its resolution.
