  • Add data to a list box from a dropdown

    - by bachchan
I have a listbox (listBox) and a dropdown list(dropDown). I want to be able to select an item from the dropDown and add them to the listBox. I have looked everywhere for this but all I ever see is adding data from a datasource instead of a dropdown. I want this to be dynamic so the listBox is populated based on the a user selected in the dropDown

  • how to use cherrpy built in data storage

    - by user291071
Ok I have been reading the cherrypy documents for sometime and have not found a simple example yet. Let say I have a simple hello world site, how do I store data? Lets say I want to store a = 1, and b =2 to a dictionary using cherrypy. The config files are confusing as hell. Anyone have very simple example of storing values from a simple site in cherrypy?

  • Displaying data points in Flex Line chart...

    - by dmose
I have a flex line chart. Instead of the default behavior of having to hover over parts of the line to see the data points, is there a way to change the rendering of each point and have them always displayed? (almost like a connect the dots type view).

  • Databank for city information

    - by Kimble
I'm hacking on a semi commercial(ads) travel related web site and would like to add a couple of lines about the biggest cities in Europe. Just a few lines about what (if anything) the city is known for, main attractions and so on. Can someone recommend me a data source with a compatible license? Bonus points for being easily importable.

  • Data access layer using Linq to SQL

    - by Andrei Tanasescu
I am building a c# - linq - sql server winforms/asp.net application, accessing a database. I would like my business logic layer to be easily testable, and that means not littering it with Linq database queries everywhere. What design patterns/ best practices are available for the following use cases - inserting/updating a new object - searching for an object - loading a bunch of related data into a sort of "presentation" object that could be displayed by various views ?

  • Make SubSonic use existing <connectionstring> instead of new data provider

    - by paolodm
I am adding SubSonic to a legacy application. This application already defines a ConnectionString. Is there a way I can use this connectionstring instead of creating a new Data Provider entry? I know that one solution is programmatically setting this in the code (i.e. SubSonic.DataService.GetInstance("Name").SetDefaultConnectionString("ConnString") ). However, is there a more elegant solution?

  • Save file as - dialog box with dynamic data

    - by MichaelMcCabe
I know that this question is quite common, but its specifics are stumping me. I have an "export" button which I want to take a load of data generated, create a CSV file, then pop up a Save File As dialog box, to save that file on their local machine. The name of this file is dynamic, also. I know how to make the CSV file, but how do I then pop up a box on the client side to let the user download it? I am using JSP with Struts

  • Passing data from page to page using System.Web.Caching.Cache

    - by Dan
I'd like to pass data from one asp.net page to another. I've seen that using System.Web.Caching.Cache is a good way to accomplish this. I'm wondering if it's a good way to do it and also is there any cleanup or other things I need to keep in mind when you the Cache? I'm not passing very much, at most two integers. Thanks.

  • Need Help Loading and Manipulating Bitmap Data

    - by Dave
Using VB6, I need to load a bitmap image and subsequently manipulate some of its data - specifically, I want to rotate a section within the image, and in the end keep the image intact with the rotated section. How do I (1) find out where an image gets loaded into memory (a physical address), and (2) in what format is it stored, a 1-D array, 2-D array, or what? Maybe you can even suggest a better way to do this. Thanks.
