I can't find any good documentation on what the concept of a Class Loader is in the .NET Framework? What is it? Where can it be found? Does anyone know?
Can someone please direct me on how to do this type of setup, i.e. I have a Windows Server with ASP.NET pages and would like to pass those credentials using Integrated Windows Authentication to a Linux-based Oracle DB.
I would like to execute a stored proc that simply updates a record. At this point I would like to keep it parameter less. But in future, I will be adding parameters to the stored proc. Can I simply do it via SQLDataSource? It will save me writing few lines of code to execute stored proc in a traditional ado.net. If its possible, could you please supply me with a sample code?
Thanks
I have a python script on a linux server that I can SSH into and I want to run the script on the linux server( and pass it parameters entered by the user) and get the output on an ASP.net webpage running on IIS. How would I be able to do that?
Would it be easier if I was running a wamp server?
Edit: The servers are in the same internal intranet.
Hello,
I'm on an asp.net page and I want to redirect to another page and then come back to the original page in the same spot to finish executing the original page. I heard that Server.Execute might work. My question is how can I accomplish this or can I accomplish this?
What happen if web.config gets updated while ASP (ASP.NET 2.0) server still process client request?

Is there a blog or MSDN article, which lists all the new methods which are added in .Net 4.0 in existing classes? I could not find any.
Two which I found on blogs till now:
String.IsNullOrWhiteSpace
Enum.HasFlag
Are there more such methods added which anybody found? If yes, please share.
I recently read this Phil Haack post (The Most Useful .NET Utility Classes Developers Tend To Reinvent Rather Than Reuse) from last year, and thought I'd see if anyone has any additions to the list.
I am building a custom CMS in ASP.NET MVC and one of the requirements is that the content has a start and end date that dictates whether or not the page appears on the site. What is the best approach to this? Should I run some sort of chron job to mark the status of the page according to its publish dates? Does anyone have any resources or advice on the matter?
As far as I know, for installation of an assmebly for .NET is as follows.
'gacutil /i nunit.framework.dll'
And for the mono, set the directory to MONO_PATH is doing the job.
Is this correct?

I want to be able to find the old value of a asp.net control (textbox, checkbox etc) without relying on events (e.g. OnTextChange event). Something like "someTextboxControl.OldText" would be perfect! I imagine that it is stored in the viewstate and need to somehow get at it via a custom control. Any ideas?

Hi,
I'm new to C# and .NET, ,and have been reading around about it.
I need to know why and when do I need to release resources? Doesn't the garbage collector take care of everything? When do I need to implement IDisposable, and how is it different from destructor in C++?
Also, if my program is rather small i.e. a screensaver, do I need to care about releasing resources?
Thanks.
I am using Eazfuscator.NET 3.0.41 to obfuscate a (VS 2010) WPF 4 application. After obfuscating, when I double click the exe file it's throwing an error message like this.
"Description: The process was terminated due to an unhandled exception.
Exception Info: System.Windows.Markup.XamlParseException"
Is there a way I could enable some sort of a logging to check where it's going wrong ? How can I solve this problem? please advice
I am using MS AJAX ASP.NET Components (Calendar Extender) and I'm finding this problem.
Some weekdays are not being displayed....
I uploaded a picture so you can view exactly how it is being displayed...
The one on the right (calnder) in the picture is taken from microsoft's sample.
Have you got any idea what is causing this problem?

i want to deploy our official asp.net web application (Enterprise Resource Plan ) which mostly contain critical data. currently we have deployed it on internal machine on intranet now we want to open it for public i.e on web

I am working on an ASP.NET MVC application where I need to export data to an excel spreadsheet. Previously, in webforms apps, I used some code I found to render a GridView as an excel-compatible file. This was quite handy. I was wondering what the quickest/most effective method would be to do this in MVC. Thanks.
I'm writing a .NET application that will make an RPC call to a Java application (via a message queue). The data sent in both directions will be large arrays of floating-point numbers. What is the best way to serialize them to send them across the wire? I'd like something more compact than text, but architecture-independent as the server may not be an x86 machine. The Java application can be changed as needed.
I'm looking or a way to programmatically determine which version of the .NET Framework an application pool is using in IIS, at runtime, and for a website application to then use that information to choose which *.config file it should use. Is it possible? I'm not sure where to begin.
Quite a broad question, and I'm open to any method of solving the problem, so fire away!
Thanks in advance, you lovely Stack Overflowers!
