How do I find if a string contains HTML data or not? The user provides input via rich:editor component and it's quite possible he could have used either a simple text or used HTML formatting.
Hello,
There seems to be a problem, where i can't display the complete value in a html form text input box.
When I echo $ title, I get output as "Stacey's Mom"
This is the html code I used to show the value.
--
This returns the value in textbox as "Stacey".
Samething happens when "," or "'" or "/" occurs in the text.
How can I show the entire text in the textbox.
Help would be much appreciated.
Hi,
I wonder if it is possible to create combo box as in the picture below. The aim is that the actual text of the combo (select in HTML) would be different that items' texts that are displayed while the combo is opened.
The application is written using Google Web Toolkit so any solution in gwt or HTML/JavaScript would be great.
Thanks for any hints.
I am currently html encoding all user entered text before inserting/updating a db table record. The problem is that on any subsequent updates, the previously encoded string is reencoded. This endless loop is starting to eat up alot of column space in my tables. I am using parameterized queries for all sql statements but am wondering would it be safe to just let the .NET Framework handle this part without the HTML Encoding?
In a basic HTML web page, how do you make the user have to enter a username and password before they are allowed to download a file.
What is the best way of achieving this on a website, preferably in plain HTML.
I need to parse some HTML files, however, they are not well-formed and PHP prints out warnings to. I want to avoid such debugging/warning behavior programatically. Please advise. Thank you!
Code:
// create a DOM document and load the HTML data
$xmlDoc = new DomDocument;
// this dumps out the warnings
$xmlDoc->loadHTML($fetchResult);
I am getting inner HTML of elrment by next way:
$(this).context.innerHTML
Then I am getting parent inner HTML:
$(this).parent().context.innerHTML
But this code returns same values.
Any ideas what is wrong?
I am working on a browser plug-in for Firefox, and I would like to be able to do some automated testing to make sure that it's handling a variety of different HTML/JavaScript features correctly. Does anyone know of a good downloadable corpus of HTML and/or JavaScript pages that could be used for this type of testing?
How can i achieve http://jdstiles.com/java/angledtext2.html this kind of angle(slant) using html , css and javascript. In design we have tabular structrer and by clicking on a tab the area beneath should refresh without reloading page (some thing like jquery or ajax).
Regular HTML select boxes (such as, e.g. found here), while being "chosen" are presented by the iPhone on a native widget that seems to totally ignore regular html font sizes and whatnot. It does some ellipsing when it goes too long, but the font is way too big for a list I want to present -- even on landscape, only about 35 characters can fit.
Is there any way to tell the iPhone to use a smaller font there?

I was amazed to find out that apparently Eclipse doesn't come with a decent HTML editor by default (it opened my .html file in some kind of browser view and apparently tried to render it). And the basic text editor is not good enough (I need at least some syntax highlighting and automatic indenting).
Any suggestions?
I'm using graphviz to generate a client side imagemap, which generates both the image file and a text file containing the map HTML code. Is there anyway I can dynamically read this file and write this map information onto the HTML page when it loads?
I'm actually needing to include html links in the longdesc attribute. I've altered prettyphoto to use longdesc instead of title for images, but I need to include html links in those descriptions. I know it's possible with code for characters, I just don't remember what those are.
Thanks

What are the pros and cons between using the ASP.Net control compared to the old reliable table html implementation.
I know that the asp:Table will end up on the returned page as a html table, and from looking into it so far people are saying its easier to work with the asp:Table in the server side code, but I'd love to hear what the stackoverflow community has to say about the matter.
Trying to add a 'class' html attribute, but I think the keyword 'class' is causing issues.
<%: Html.TextBox("name", "value", new {class: " required "})%>
Is there a workaround?
I have an html table nested in an html table cell. I want the nested table to use the full size of the cell it is nested in. When I use firefox or google chrome I get the result I want but when I use Internet Explorer 8 (even if I use td style="height="100%") the height of the nested cell depends on it's content. As a result I get whitespace before and after my nested table.

Is there a good way to remove HTML from a Java string? A simple regex like
replaceAll("\\<.*?>","")
will work, but things like
&
wont be converted correctly and non-HTML between the two angle brackets will be removed (ie the .*? in the regex will disappear).
Hi,
I want to choose an image formate for including images in both html and latex.
I found that jpeg and png formates are not always working well in latex. Is eps format the best for latex. It seems eps is not supported in html?
What other format is good too?
Thanks and regards!
