Is there any. I just ran the new perf analysis tool of vs2010 and as it turns out this func consumes most of the cpu resources.
Is there something else i can use?
I'm using MVC2 with VS2010
I have a view that has two partial views in it: "Login" and "Register"
both partial views contains the Email address field i use the following in both partial views:
<%: Html.TextBoxFor(model => model.EmailAddress ) %><br /><%: Html.ValidationMessageFor(model => model.EmailAddress) %>
if i use both partial views on one page, it ends up having duplicate id's so validation happens across both views (even thopugh they are in seperate forms)
how can i go about eliminating this
I'm an ASP.NET c# developer using VS2010 as my development platform. I am interested in accessing Sketchup models using a web form interface.
Has anyone done this? I am looking for a simple "Hellow World" web application that uses the Ruby Extension model.
I've created a setup project in Visual Studio 2008. I would like the installed location
DefaultLocation never to be modified by the user during installation, probably by
skipping the 'Select Installation Folder' dialog during setup. Is there a way to do
this, either in VS2008 (or VS2010) or using an MSI editor such as Orca. Please advise
at your earliest convenience, thanks.
Hi
I have ASP .NET application.
I set culture in Application_Begin request:
System.Threading.Thread.CurrentThread.CurrentCulture = myCulture;
System.Threading.Thread.CurrentThread.CurrentUICulture = myCulture;
When I get current culture from page, it is myCulture in debug mode and it is "en-GB" in release mode.
I don't understand why Release mode affects on Thread.CurrentThread.CurrentCulture
I use VS2010 and .NET 4.0
Thanks
I spent a lot of time reading blogs and tutorials on the Net regarding how to do this and that with VS2010, but I thought it would be better to learn it in a more systematic way.
Do you know of a good website/book that will teach me how to use Visual Studio 2010/2008 Team System + Microsoft Project to perform various tasks from Project Management to code development and testing in the way the software was designed for?
Thank you.
Hi
I've recently installed VS2010 and I'm trying to upgrade a project that I created using VS2008 and WSSF (Web Service Software Factory). I've installed the 2010 version of WSSF and it's prerequisites. After upgrading, when I try to load the solution I get "blah.ssfproduct cannot be opened because its project type (.ssfproduct) is not supported by this version of the application". Absolutely no idea what to do :(
Cheers
Mark
Hey,
I am building a email service based on templates. I thought of using the spark view engine but it seems that It doesn't get much updates anymore.
Support on .NET4.0 is not even yet complete and it fails at runtime when used in a console app.
The little Intellisense support that was there in VS2008 doesn't seem to work on VS2010 (from the information I have found)
Should I avoid it?
What do you think?
OpenCV 2.0a does not include pre-compiled OpenCV libraries for Visual Studio users. I am trying to build the libraries from source using Visual Studio 2010 Beta and CMake, but I am getting lot of errors.
I even tried generating the libs from dlls using dumpbin but the linker errors are still persisting. Please guide me to generate the static libs for VS2010.
I need to deploy a new item/project template and I found out that the way to do it is to copy it to [Visual Studio folder]\Common7\IDE\ItemTemplates.
How can I find where VS was installed (in my case VS2010)?
WiX code will be welcomed...
I tried to convert a project that relies on the vjs runtime to vs2010, but it errors out when trying to run. It's giving the error that "Could not load file or assembly 'vjslib' or one of its dependencies. An attempt was made to load a program with an incorrect format." I reinstalled the vjs runtime, but it didn't seem to help. Is there any way to get get .net 4 to work with this? Thanks!
As far as I know, VS2008/MSBuild do not suport multithreaded compilation of C# projets. I don't know if VS2010 supports it. Do you know a 3rd party product or an open source projet that does that?
Is it true that Visual Studio 2010 has now COBOL compiler inside?
I saw this in one article.
I also saw a video of it.
The question is, where can I find it? I've been searching VS2010 and still, no clues.
Thanks for answering.
In VS2008 it was possible to drag the corner to enlarge the window to see more methods, are there any hidden settings in VS2010 to make this window larger?
I tried to post an image but it appears I need more rep.
I need something just like this:
But, I need it in WPF. is this something that is built in, or am I going to have to build it myself?
I assume it has to be somewhere in the framework, since VS2010 is build in WPF.
Hi,
If I already have domain classes, and I want to be able persist them using EF via a model first approach how do I do this?
For example do I go to the EF designer (in VS2010) and create the model and generate the classes, then go to these EF classes and somehow manually modify them? But then would there be an issue if I needed to change the model and re-create database TSQL from the model for updates?
What's the easiest approach?
Just as I started to assume this feature was ubiquitous(middle-clicking on a page, then scrolling speed/direction is relative to the distance of the pointer on the y-axis).
I can't believe this hasn't been implemented into the text editor in vs2010, I used it all the time in 2005 and 2008.
Has anyone managed to find a workaround or am I a minority user of this feature?
Hi,
how can I enable database logging in my ASP.net application?
I am using VS2010 (ASP.net MVC2 Project) and would like to see logging that highlights database activity between the application and the database, including database connection establishment (as I do have a connection related error somewhere).
I'm using SqlServer Express 2008.
thanks
This may be the wrong forum to ask... But since there are so many Telerik fans here, I was wondering if anyone is aware of discount coupons or upcoming deals the company may have? I ask because VS2010 is coming, and I suspect they may therefore have deals released at a similar timeframe. I am a bit 'cheap' because I am just starting a one-man business...
I have created a web test in vs2010. which browse through the products.
I have 3 roles in my site guest (non logged in ), logged in not verified, logged in verified.
How I can use single test for all 3 roles?
Does anyone know (ideally, with a reference), whether the VS2010 release of LinqToSQL or EntityFramework v4 will support queries over the SQL 2008 spatial data types?
I am looking to see if there is a good library or framework that I can use to simplify adding user/group/permission management to a .Net application (4.0 VS2010). If the framework can work on it's own or integrate with Active Directory that would be a huge bonus.
So far I have found Visual Guard, if you have any experience using Visual Guard to provide user/group/permission functionality I definitely want to hear your feedback on how you liked working with it, pitfalls and benefits
Now that Visual Studio 2010 has jQuery support, I'm wondering how I can update the release version? When you currently create a project, it automatically creates the 1.4.1 files, but there is now the 1.4.2 release on the jQuery.com website.
How can I tell VS2010 to use the more recent version of jQuery?
