  • jQuery AutoComplete with three levels of suggestions?

    - by Meitham
I am building a django based application and its time to add the DHTML stuff. One of my fields represent a database field with this format databaseName.tableName.fieldName I would like to have javascript autocompletion in three levels, say once I type part of the database names I get a list of all matching databases, one that is selected I get a list of all tables, and once that is selected I get a list of all fields in that table, all in the same textfield. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks M

    - by Kaz Lee
Guys, I have this code below which works in firefox and all others except in IE. Am I making a syntaxt error somewhere? Can't seem to find it and its driving me nuts. Any help is appreciated! <script> $(document).ready(function(){ $("label:contains('Number')").html("Register:"); $("input[type='textbox']").each(function(){ var name = $(this).attr('name'); // grab name of original /* create new visible input */ var html = '<input type="checkbox" class="NetscapeFix" size="4" maxlength="5" name="'+name+'" id="'+name+'" value="1" dir="rtl" />'; $(this).after(html).remove(); // add new, then remove original input }); }); </script> Thank you, Kaz

  • JQuery addclass to another div (but not parent) if no data is found

    - by Danny
I have this to add a class to the main table that the report is in if there is no data returned. $('#report-area table td:contains("Sorry, your search did not return any data")').parents('#reportArea').addClass('no-report-data') However, I have another div area "#report-footer" but it's not inside #report-area. I'd like to also add the .no-report-data class to "#report-footer" as well but in this case I don't think the .parents selector will work. Is there another selector I can use to do this?

I do not want to list all form element types (select,textarea,input,option...). I would prefer to use myForm.elements. Any ideas?

  • JQuery not working in IE7/8

    - by user1665283
I have been given the following code to implement: <script type="text/javascript"> $(document).ready(function(){ $('.hotspots a').bind('mouseover click', function() { $this = $(this); if($('.hotspot-target').data('hotspot')!=$this.attr('href')) { $('.hotspot-target').data('hotspot', $this.attr('href')); $('.hotspot-target').fadeOut(100, function() { $('.hotspot-target').css({backgroundImage: 'url('+$this.attr('href')+')'}); $('.hotspot-target .detail').hide(); $('.hotspot-target .detail.'+$this.attr('class')).show(); $('.hotspot-target').fadeIn(100); }); } return false; }) }); </script> It works fine in FF and Chrome with no errors in the console. I also can't see any errors in the IE debugger, though I'm not so used to how that works. Is there anything obviously wrong with the above code? It's placed at the end of the page

  • jQuery scroll div with scrollTop

    - by papermate
    I'm trying to scroll a div up or down when hovering over the respective arrows. I also want to be able to jump down the div when the buttons are clicked (think clicking the windows scroll arrows rather than dragging the scroll bar). The scrolling works but the jumping doesn't. scrollTop() keeps retuning 0. Here's the code: function startScrollContent() { if ($('.haccordion-opened').prev('.header').find('div').attr('title') != 'dontscroll' && $('.haccordion-opened span.arrow').length == 0) { $('.haccordion-opened').append('<span class="arrow down" style="position: absolute; bottom: 5px; left: 260px; font-size: 9pt;">&#9660;</span><span class="arrow up" style="position: absolute; bottom: 5px; left: 280px; font-size: 9pt;">&#9650;</span>'); $('.content span.arrow').hover(function() { direction = ($(this).hasClass('up')) ? '-=' : '+='; $('.content .padding').animate({scrollTop: direction + $('.content .padding').css('height')}, 5000); }, function() { $('.content .padding').stop(); }); $('.content span.arrow').click(function() { $('.content .padding').stop(); direction = ($(this).hasClass('up')) ? '-' : '+'; alert($('.content .padding').scrollTop()); //$('.content .padding').scrollTop($('.content .padding').scrollTop + direction + 100); }); } return; } How can I get the jump part working?

  • asp.net mvc jQuery $.post works but $.get doesn't

    - by iboeno
    Why would POST work but not GET? I'm not using [AcceptVerbs(HttpVerbs.Post)]. I'm calling this: public ActionResult GetTest(string key) { var test = new { HelpTest = key }; return Json(test); } And it works when I do this: $.post("/Home/GetTest", { key: options.key }, function(helpTest) { alert(helpTest.HelpTest); }); But not this: $.get("/Home/GetTest", { key: options.key }, function(helpTest) { alert(helpTest.HelpTest); }); Why would this be? Using GET returns an XMLHttpRequest.status of 500. What am I confused about?

  • JQuery transition animation

    - by kk-dev11
This program randomly selects two employees from a json-object Employees array, winnerPos is already defined. For better user experience I programmed these functions to change pictures one by one. The animation stops when the randomly selected person is shown on the screen. The slideThrough function will be triggered when the start button is pressed. function slideThrough() { counter = 0; start = true; clearInterval(picInterval); picInterval = setInterval(function () { changePicture(); }, 500); } function changePicture() { if (start) { if (counter > winnerPos) { setWinner(); start = false; killInterval(); } else { var employee = Employees[counter]; winnerPic.fadeOut(200, function () { this.src = 'img/' + employee.image; winnerName.html(employee.name); $(this).fadeIn(300); }); counter++; } } } The problem is the animation doesn't work smoothly. At first it works, but not perfect. The second time the transition happens in an irregular way, i.e. different speed and fadeIn/fadeOut differs from picture to picture. Could anyone help me to fine-tune the transition?

  • scrollTop with jQuery

    - by Narcís
I want a foot to be at the bottom of the page. But when the user makes the window smaller, the two divs come together, it would be better that begins the scroll and hides the foot. I don't know if I explain? I have the code life here: http://jsfiddle.net/mdAsn/ $(function(){ $(document).scroll(function(){ var topDistance = $('#foot').scrollTop(); if(topDistance >= 420){ $('#foot').css({position: 'absolute',bottom:'10px'}); } else{ $('#foot').css({position: 'absolute',top:'410px'}); } }); })

  • JQuery-AJAX: No further request after timeout and delay in form post

    - by Nogga
I got a form containing multiple checkboxes. This form shall be sent to the server to receive appropriate results from a server side script. This is already working. What I would achieve now: 1) Implementing a timeout: This is already working, but as soon as a timeout occurs, a new request is not working anymore. 2) Implementing a delay in requesting results: A delay shall be implemented so that not every checkbox is resulting in a POST request. This is what I have right now: function update_listing() { // remove postings from table $('.tbl tbody').children('tr').remove(); // get the results through AJAX var request = $.ajax({ type: "POST", url: "http://localhost/hr/index.php/listing/ajax_csv", data: $("#listing_form").serialize(), timeout: 5000, success: function(data) { $(".tbl tbody").append(data); }, error: function(objAJAXRequest, strError) { $(".tbl tbody").append("<tr><td>failed " + strError + "</td></tr>"); } }); return true; } Results are for now passed as HTML table rows - I will transform them to CSV/JSON in the next step. Thanks so much for your advice.
