  • Quickest way to find the oldest file in a directory using Delphi

    - by Pieter van Wyk
HI We have a large number of remote computers that capture video onto disk drives. Each camera has it's own unique directory and there can be up to 16 directories on any one disk. I'm trying to locate the oldest video file on the disk but using FindFirst/FindNext to compare the File Creation DateTime takes forever. Does anybody know of a more efficient way of finding the oldest file in a directory? We remotely connect to the pc's from a central HO location. Regards, Pieter

  • Camel-like integration component for Ruby

    - by Matthias Hryniszak
Hi, I'm in need to get some integration work done in my ruby application. My main focus is web services and ActiveMQ integration (the systems I'm going to connect to are mainly written in Java). I was wondering if there's something that resembles the capabilities of Camel in Ruby? All I need is something that'll let me define routing between incoming data from those sources I mentioned above, do some pre-processing and post them back somewhere else. Thanks, Matthias

  • handling mouseover/mouseout events for dijit.TitlePane's titleNode

    - by Shailesh Kumar
I have a lot of dijit.TitlePanes stacked up one after another. I wish to handle the onmouseover and onmouseout events for the tile part of the TitlePane. What is the correct way of doing this? Will something like : dojo.connect(titlePane.titleNode, 'onmouseover', function f() {}); work, where titlePane is a reference to some dijit.TitlePane object? Is there some declarative way of setting up such an event handler using "dojo/mehtod"?

  • Django FileField not saving to upload_to location

    - by Erik
I have an Attachment model that has a FileField in a Django 1.4.1 app. This FileField has a callable upload_to parameter which, per the Django docs should be called when the form (and therefore the model) is saved. When I run FormTest below, the upload_to callable is never called and the file therefore does not appear in the location provided by the upload_to method. What am I doing wrong? Notice that in the passing tests in ModelTest (also below), the upload_to method works as expected. Test: from core.forms.attachments import AttachmentForm from django.test import TestCase import unittest from django.core.files.uploadedfile import SimpleUploadedFile from django.core.files.storage import default_storage def suite(): return unittest.TestSuite( [ unittest.TestLoader().loadTestsFromTestCase(FormTest), ] ) class FormTest(TestCase): def test_form_1(self): filename = 'filename' f = file(filename) data = {'name':'name',} file_data = {'attachment_file':SimpleUploadedFile(f.name,f.read()),} form = AttachmentForm(data=data,files=file_data) self.assertTrue(form.is_valid()) attachment = form.save() root_directory = 'attachments' upload_location = root_directory + '/' + attachment.directory + '/' + filename self.assertTrue(attachment.attachment_file) # • Sockets server design advice

    - by Rob
We are writing a socket server in c# and need some advice on the design. Background: Clients (from mobile devices) connect to our server app and we leave their socket open so we can send data back down to them whenever we need to. The amount of data varies but we generally send/receive data from each client every few seconds, so it's quite intensive. The amount of simultaneous connections can range from 50-500 (and more in the future). We have already written a server app using async sockets and it works, however we've come across some stumbling blocks and we need to make sure that what we're doing is correct. We have a collection which holds our client states (we have no socket/connection pool at the moment, should we?). Each time a client connects we create a socket and then wait for them to send us some data and in receiveCallBack we add their clientstate object to our connections dictionary (once we have verified who they are). When a client object then signs off we shutdown their socket and then close it as well as remove them from our collection of clients dictionary. Presumably everything happens in the right order, everything works as expected. However, almost everyday it stops accepting connections, or so we think, either that or it connects but doesn't actually do anything past that and we can't work out why it's just stopping. There are few things that we'r'e unsure about 1) Should we be creating some kind of connection pool as opposed to just a dictionary of client sockets 2) What happens to the sockets that connect but then don't get added to our dictionary, they just linger around in memory doing nothing, should we create ANOTHER dictionary that holds the sockets as soon as they are created? 3) What's the best way of finding if clients are no longer connected? We've read some many methods but we're not sure of the best one to use, send data or read data, if so how? 4) If we loop through the connections dictonary to check for disposed clients, should we be locking the dictionary, if so how does this affect other clients objects trying to use it at the same time, will it throw an error or just wait? 5) We often get disposedSocketException within ReceiveCallBack method at random times, does this mean we are safe to remove that socket from the collection? We can't seem to find any production type examples which show any of this working. Any advice would be greatly received

  • Using oAuth (Twitter, LinkedIn) for login to a web app

    - by novaurora
Should I use oAuth, for example LinkedIn or Twitter, as my signin mechanism for my app? It seems that most apps just use oAuth to connect other services to it, but they make you set up your own user/password after you use oAuth (including StackOverflow), and I'm not really sure why this is. Would love some insight here. Thank you.

  • Cannot render images locally with Sql Server 2005 Report Services SOAP service calls

    - by user289146
I am trying to render images from SSRS 2005 via the SOAP call. When the reports service is installed on the same server as my website, the images generated do not render in the page. However, when I connect to the reporting service URL from the same web code on a separate machine the images render just fine. Is there a dependency that I am missing to allow me to run the web and SSRS on the same box?

  • remote desktop client with panning of large desktops?

Are there any RDP clients that instead leave the remote desktop at its original size and pan this larger area when the mouse reaches the border edges of the local display? Thanks Mike
