  • Determining if two lines intersect

    I have two lines that extend to infinity but both have a starting point. They are both described by a starting point and a vector in the direction of the line extending to infinity. I want to find out if the two lines intersect but i don't need to know where they intersect (its part of a collision detection algorithm). Everything i have looked at so far describes finding the intersection point of two lines or line segments. Anyone know a fast algorithm to solve this?

    hi, This is my bash command grep -rl "System.out.print" Project1/ | xargs -I{} grep -H -n "System.out.print" {} | cut -f-2 -d: | sed "s/\(.*\):\(.*\)/filename is \1 and line number is \2/ What I'm trying to do here is,I'm trying to iterate through sub folders and check what files contains "System.out.print" (using grep) using 2nd grep trying to get file names and line numbers using sed command I display those to console. from here I want to remove "System.out.print" with "XXXXX" how I can pipe sed command to this? pls help me thanxx

    I'm trying to Display individual elements of an Object I have created. It is a simple Java program that allows users to add and keep track of Player Details. I'm just stumped when it comes to displaying the details after they have been added already. here is what my code looks like I can create the object and input it into the arraylist no problem using the case 2, but when I try to print it out I want to do something like System.out.println("Player Name" + myPlayersArrayList.PlayerName + "Player Position" + myPlayerArrayList.PlayerPosition + "Player Age" + "Player Age"); I know that is not correct, but I dont really know what to do, if anyone can be of any help it would be greatly appreciated.   • Restoring and passing data to an already running instance of a .NET application

    The goal is to have an application that runs in the system tray and can either accept user input from its actual GUI (which isn't the actual issue) OR accept command line parameters (that would actually be done via a context menu in windows explorer). Now, while I'm aware that the command line parameters are not exactly possible once the application has started, I need a way to pass data to the already running application instance via some form of handler. I'm thinking maybe define and raise some sort of event? Thanks in advance.

    I was unable to find any solution of my specific issue. I'm using Xcode 3.2. I'd like to indent the next line of function argument just one step in from the previous line: somevariable = pow( a, b); However, Xcode's syntax-aware indenting insists on converting the above into: somevariable = pow( a, b); Where the arguments are aligned with opening parenthesis of the function. How can I make indenting be configured to match my preference?

    Guys would it be difficult to write coutn which will be basically place newline symbol at the end of the input. While working with console (that's all I can do at the moment) I'm finding very tedious to write '\n' every time I want the line to be a new line. Or maybe it is already implemented?

I know the data file is getting downloaded because I watch the directory where it is being placed.   • Problem intialising 2D array

    Ok, so I have a 2D Array that is initialised with values from a file (format: x y z). My file reads in the values correctly but when adding the z value to the matrix/2DArray, I run into a segfault and I have no idea why. It is possibly incorrect use of pointers? I still don't quite have the hang of them yet. The map file has a max "x" value of 47 and a max "y" value of 63, I'm pretty sure I haven't got the order mixed up, so I don't know why the program is segfault-ing? I'm sure it's some newbie mistake...

I expect perl is a good way to do this, but I'm not much of a perl person, alternatively maybe sed is a good way? Please suggest a simple way to reliably accomplish this in Unix.
