  • Load binary file using fstream

    - by Kirill V. Lyadvinsky
I'm trying to load binary file using fstream in the following way: #include <iostream #include <fstream #include <iterator #include <vector using namespace std; int main() { basic_fstream<uint32_t file( "somefile.dat", ios::in|ios::binary ); vector<uint32_t buffer; buffer.assign( istream_iterator<uint32_t, uint32_t( file ), istream_iterator<uint32_t, uint32_t() ); cout << buffer.size() << endl; return 0; } But it doesn't work. In Ubuntu it crashed with std::bad_cast exception. In MSVC++ 2008 it just prints 0. I know that I could use file.read to load file, but I want to use iterator and operator>> to load parts of the file. Is that possible? Why the code above doesn't work?

  • WCF - WebReferences not working

    - by JMSA
At the client end, I have generated a Proxy using SvcUtil.exe and it is working fine. Then I have added a WebReference to the client assembly and calling the same method. But it is not working. My program is running in console mode and the method is suppose to return a string. It is not returning the string. I just see a blank console window. No exception is thrown. And after setting a debug point on the method call I see that, program is halted on the method call for ever. What should I look for to solve the problem? I am using VS2005. And adding the webReference by right-clicking the client project and then clicking "Add Web Reference" pop-up menu.

  • String to date (Invalid format)

    - by MrThys
I am using Joda Time library to convert my String dates to a real date, because this seemed like the easiest solution to do this. I am using the DateTime object to do this; new DateTime(strValue); But when inserting some formats it throws me the exception; java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: Invalid format: "Mon, 30 Sep 2002 01:56:02 GMT" java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: Invalid format: "Sun, 29 Sep 2002 19:59:01 GMT" java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: Invalid format: "Mon, 30 Sep 2002 01:52:02 GMT" java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: Invalid format: "Sun, 29 Sep 2002 17:05:20 GMT" java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: Invalid format: "Sun, 29 Sep 2002 19:09:28 GMT" java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: Invalid format: "Sun, 29 Sep 2002 15:01:02 GMT" java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: Invalid format: "Sun, 29 Sep 2002 23:48:33 GMT" java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: Invalid format: "Sun, 29 Sep 2002 17:24:20 GMT" java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: Invalid format: "Sun, 29 Sep 2002 11:13:10 GMT" Is there a way to solve this, or should I use something else instead of DateTime.

  • Is .net 4.0 really not capable of sending emails with attachments larger than 3MB's

    - by JL
I recently had an issue after upgrading my .net framework to 4.0 from 3.5, I did this because in 4.0 the SMTPClient finally sends a QUIT command to the SMTP server. However recently I was most disturbed to run into a base64 decoding issue, when sending out emails with attachments larger than 3MB's using .net v4 smtpclient: System.Net.Mail.SmtpException: Failure sending mail. --- System.IndexOutOfRangeException: Index was outside the bounds of the array. at System.Net.Base64Stream.EncodeBytes(Byte[] buffer, Int32 offset, Int32 count, Boolean dontDeferFinalBytes, Boolean shouldAppendSpaceToCRLF) at System.Net.Base64Stream.Write(Byte[] buffer, Int32 offset, Int32 count) at System.Net.Mime.MimePart.Send(BaseWriter writer) at System.Net.Mime.MimeMultiPart.Send(BaseWriter writer) at System.Net.Mail.Message.Send(BaseWriter writer, Boolean sendEnvelope) at System.Net.Mail.SmtpClient.Send(MailMessage message) --- End of inner exception stack trace --- I read this connect bug listing here: http://connect.microsoft.com/VisualStudio/feedback/details/544562/cannot-send-e-mails-with-large-attachments-system-net-mail-smtpclient-system-net-mail-mailmessage and also this bug listing here: http://connect.microsoft.com/VisualStudio/feedback/details/102644/system-net-mail-fails-to-send-index-was-outside-the-bounds-of-the-array So my question is - is .net 4.0 RTM really not capable of such an easy task as sending a message with an attachment larger than 3MB's?

  • Downloading PKPass in an iOS custom app from my server

    - by taurus
I've setup a server which returns a PKPass. If I copy the URL to the browser, a pass is shown (both in my Mac and in my iPhone). The code I'm using to download the pass is the following one: NSData *data = [[NSData alloc] initWithContentsOfURL:[NSURL URLWithString:kAPIPass]]; if (nil != data) { PKPass *pass = [[PKPass alloc] initWithData:data error:nil]; PKAddPassesViewController *pkvc = [[PKAddPassesViewController alloc] initWithPass:pass]; pkvc.delegate = self; [self presentViewController:pkvc animated:YES completion:^{ // Do any cleanup here } ]; } Anyway, when I run this code I have the following error: * Terminating app due to uncaught exception 'NSInternalInconsistencyException', reason: 'Only support RGBA or the White color space, this method is a hack.' I don't know what is the bug... The pass seems ok when I download it with Safari and even the code seems ok (there are just 3 simple rows...) Someone experienced with Passkit could help me? EDIT: the weird thing is that the exact same code is working in a fresh new project

  • Unpacking Argument Lists and Instantiating WTForms objects from web.py

    - by Morris Cornell-Morgan
After a bit of searching, I've found that it's possible to instantiate a WTForms object in web.py using the following code: form = my_form(**web.input()) web.input() returns a "dictionary-like" web.storage object, but without the double asterisks WTForms will raise an exception: TypeError: formdata should be a multidict-type wrapper that supports the 'getlist' method From the Python documentation I understand that the two asterisks are used to unpack a dictionary of named arguments. That said, I'm still a bit confused about exactly what is going on. What makes the web.storage object returned by web.input() "dictionary-like" enough that it can be unpacked by ** but not "dictionary-like" enough that it can be passed as-is to the WTForms constructor? I know that this is an extremely basic question, but any advice to help a novice programmer would be greatly appreciated!

  • Blackberry Player, custom data source

    - by Alex
Hello I must create a custom media player within the application with support for mp3 and wav files. I read in the documentation i cant seek or get the media file duration without a custom datasoruce. I checked the demo in the JDE 4.6 but i have still problems... I cant get the duration, it return much more then the expected so i`m sure i screwed up something while i modified the code to read the mp3 file locally from the filesystem. Somebody can help me what i did wrong ? (I can hear the mp3, so the player plays it correctly from start to end) I must support OSs = 4.6. • Inheriting from class that inherits from DynamicObject

    - by SeveQ
Hello there, I'm experimenting with C# 4.0's dynamic object model. I've created an abstract class named "Block" that inherits from DynamicObject. It overrides TryGetMember and TrySetMember. Furthermore I've created a usable class named "Brush" that inherits from "Block". I want it to be usable dynamically. But when I create a dynamic object from it and try to access a runtime bound member, it pelts me with an exception telling me that the member doesn't exist. The overridden TryGetMember or TrySetMember methods of the abstract parent class aren't getting called. Is this behaviour to be expected? Thank you!

  • Castle Windsor - Resolving a generic implementation to a base type

    - by arootbeer
I'm trying to use Windsor as a factory to provide specification implementations based on subtypes of XAbstractBase (an abstract message base class in my case). I have code like the following: public abstract class XAbstractBase { } public class YImplementation : XAbstractBase { } public class ZImplementation : XAbstractBase { } public interface ISpecification<T> where T : XAbstractBase { bool PredicateLogic(); } public class DefaultSpecificationImplementation : ISpecification<XAbstractBase> { public bool PredicateLogic() { return true; } } public class SpecificSpecificationImplementation : ISpecification<YImplementation> { public bool PredicateLogic() { /*do real work*/ } } My component registration code looks like this: container.Register( AllTypes.FromAssembly(Assembly.GetExecutingAssembly()) .BasedOn(typeof(ISpecification<>)) .WithService.FirstInterface() ) This works fine when I try to resolve ISpecification<YImplementation>; it correctly resolves SpecificSpecificationImplementation. However, when I try to resolve ISpecification<ZImplementation> Windsor throws an exception: "No component for supporting the service ISpecification'1[ZImplementation, AssemblyInfo...] was found" Does Windsor support resolving generic implementations down to base classes if no more specific implementation is registered?

  • Reading string value from Excel with HSSF but it's double

    - by egaga
Hi, I'm using HSSF-POI for reading excel data. The problem is I have values in a cell that look like a number but really are strings. If I look at the format cell in Excel, it says the type is "text". Still the HSSF Cell thinks it's numeric. How can I get the value as a string? If I try to use cell.getRichStringValue, I get exception; if cell.toString, it's not the exact same value as in Excel sheet. Thanks! edit: until this gets resolved, I'll use new BigDecimal(cell.getNumericCellValue()).toString()

  • Java RegEx Pattern not matching (works in .NET)

    - by CDSO1
    Below is an example that is producing an exception in Java (and not matching the input). Perhaps I misunderstood the JavaDoc, but it looks like it should work. Using the same pattern and input in C# will produce a match. import java.util.regex.Matcher; import java.util.regex.Pattern; public class Main { public static void main(String[] args) { String pattern = "aspx\\?uid=([^']*)"; Pattern p = Pattern.compile(pattern); Matcher m = p.matcher("id='page.aspx?uid=123'"); System.out.println(m.groupCount() > 0 ? m.group(1) : "No Matches"); } }

  • Avoiding improper std::string initialization with NULL const char* using g++

    - by pachanga
A there any g++ options which can detect improper initialization of std::string with NULL const char*? I was in the process of turning some int fields into std::string ones, i.e: struct Foo { int id; Foo() : id(0) {} }; ...turned into: struct Foo { std::string id; Foo() : id(0) {} //oooops! }; I completely overlooked bad 'id' initialization with 0 and g++ gave me no warnings at all. This error was detected in the run time(std::string constructor threw an exception) but I'd really like to detect such stuff in the compile time. Is there any way?

  • Core Data fetchedresultscontroller question : what is "sections" for?

    - by Jake
Hi, I'm trying to get to know Core Data (I'm a noob at iPhone development) and in order to do this I'm trying to get an object from the fetchedresultscontroller and NSlog it's name (a property of the object). I tried to do it like this: NSArray *ar = [NSArray arrayWithArray:[fetchedResultsController sections]]; Task *t = [ar objectAtIndex:0]; NSLog(@"%@", t.taskName); However, the app crashed with this error: the app crashes with the error Terminating app due to uncaught exception 'NSInvalidArgumentException', reason: '* -[_NSDefaultSectionInfo taskName]: unrecognized selector sent to instance 0x3d1f670' I have since learned that you need to use the fetched objects property for this, but then what is sections for? Thanks for any help, sorry if this is a supremely stupid question. I've looked over the documentation but still don't understand.

  • Is there a way of using one method to handle others to avoid code duplication?

    - by Artur
I wonder if there is a way of writing a method or a class that would add to any method some code that is shared between many methods. The methods return different things and some of them are just void. Below is a part of the code that is duplicated in the methods. StartTimer(MethodBase.GetCurrentMethod().Name); try { // Actual method body } catch (Exception ex) { bool rethrow = ExceptionPolicy.HandleException(ex, "DALPolicy"); if (rethrow) { throw; } } finally { StopTimer(MethodBase.GetCurrentMethod().Name); } Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  • Button in gridview

I'm using a button in a template field of gridview. On button click I want to redirect to another page but it throws an exception: Invalid postback or callback argument. Event validation is enabled using in configuration or <%@ Page EnableEventValidation="true" % in a page. For security purposes, this feature verifies that arguments to postback or callback events originate from the server control that originally rendered them. If the data is valid and expected, use the ClientScriptManager.RegisterForEventValidation method in order to register the postback or callback data for validation. • Web scraping: how to get scraper implementation from text link?

    - by isme
I'm building a java web media-scraping application for extracting content from a variety of popular websites: youtube, facebook, rapidshare, and so on. The application will include a search capability to find content urls, but should also allow the user to paste a url into the application if they already where the media is. Youtube Downloader already does this for a variety of video sites. When the program is supplied with a URL, it decides which kind of scraper to use to get the content; for example, a youtube watch link returns a YoutubeScraper, a Facebook fanpage link returns a FacebookScraper and so on. Should I use the factory pattern to do this? My idea is that the factory has one public method. It takes a String argument representing a link, and returns a suitable implementation of the Scraper interface. I guess the Factory would hold a list of Scraper implementations, and would match the link against each Scraper until it finds a suitable one. If there is no suitable one, it throws an Exception instead.

  • Use default credentials in order to call DirectoryEntry

    - by Copeleto
Hi, I am working in a Login page and teh logic is like - try { DirectoryEntry LDAPLogin = new DirectoryEntry(ConfigurationSettings.AppSettings ["LDAPPath"].ToString(), Usuario, Txt_Contrasenia.Text.ToString()); if (LDAPLogin.NativeGuid != LDAPLogin.Name) ValidarGrupo(); } catch (Exception exc) { Label_Info.Text = "Sus credenciales no son validas: " + Usuario.ToString() + " " + exc.Message; } If the user enters the rights credentials I call a method ValidarGrupo that implements a lookup in the AD for a group of the user I would like to replace the username and password with UseDefaultCredentials in order to avoid that the user has to enter the username and password and the Login pages use the credentials of the user that is login on the machine.

  • Blackberry ESS standalone mode && Outlook 2007

    - by new Blackberry developer
Hi, I launch Blackberry ESS in standalone mode. However I don't have Outlook Express on my computer. Instead I have Outlook 2007 on my computer. I set up an email account in Outlook 2007 which uses 'localhost' as its pop3/smtp server. The port numbers I used are the same as those in http://www.blackberryforums.com/developer-forum/5590-sending-receiving-email-device-simulator.html. However I got the following exception. 'UnknownHostException:pop3.server'. I am wondering if Outlook 2007 works with ESS.

running at http://localhost:1234/ I'm a little confused over this, since I have the same application running locally on GlassFish/MySQL. All I have done is to swap in the relevant jar files, and change the persistence.xml. My applicationContext.xml looks as follows : <context:annotation-config/> <bean id="clientDao" class="com.jameselsey.salestracker.dao.jpa.JpaDaoClient"> <property name="entityManagerFactory" ref="entityManagerFactory"/> </bean> <bean id="entityManagerFactory" class="org.springframework.orm.jpa.LocalContainerEntityManagerFactoryBean"/> <bean id="transactionManager" class="org.springframework.orm.jpa.JpaTransactionManager"> <property name="entityManagerFactory" ref="entityManagerFactory" /> </bean> <bean id="org.springframework.context.annotation.internalPersistenceAnnotationProcessor" class="com.jameselsey.salestracker.util.GaeFixInternalPersistenceAnnotationProcessor" /> <bean class="org.springframework.orm.jpa.support.PersistenceAnnotationBeanPostProcessor"/> <tx:annotation-driven/> <bean id="clientService" class="com.jameselsey.salestracker.service.ClientService"/> </beans> My JPA DAO looks like this public class JpaDao extends JpaDaoSupport { protected <T> List<T> findAll(Class<T> clazz) { return getJpaTemplate().find("select c from " + clazz.getName() + " c"); } protected <T> T findOne(String jpql, Map params) { List<T> results = getJpaTemplate().findByNamedParams(jpql, params); if(results.isEmpty()) { return null; } if(results.size() > 1) { throw new IncorrectResultSizeDataAccessException(1, results.size()); } return results.get(0); } } And an example implemented method looks like this : @Override public Client getClientById(Integer clientId) { String jpql = "SELECT c " + "FROM com.jameselsey.salestracker.domain.Client c " + "WHERE c.id = " + clientId; return (Client) getJpaTemplate().find(jpql).get(0); } Like I say, this works ok on Glassfish/MySQL, is it possible this error could be a red herring to something else?

  • Debugging with only the .exe

    - by Franklin Albricias
HI: I've a Delphi 7 program that I wrote many years ago, but I've lost the source code. It's a small program but very useful for me. I've tried to 'install' it again in a new Windows XP computer, just copying the folder with de data (.db paradox files), and configured the BDE connection. When the programm starts I receive an "Unknown exception" and halts. I've no idea why this happens, and can't debug cause the lost source code. I've tried in another computer with the same results. Any suggestions or ideas? What do you do in a situation like this? Thanks in advance.

  • Makecert problem under Windows 7

    - by TimK
I'm creating a certificate to use with an SslStream, and I've been doing it this way under XP: makecert -r -pe -n "CN=aName" -ss my -sr localmachine -sky exchange -sp "Microsoft RSA SChannel Cryptographic Provider" -sy 12 server.cer If I understand this correctly, this creates a certificate in server.cer, and creates a private key for it in my personal certificate store. Once I have done this, I can create a certificate object like this: X509Certificate.CreateFromCertFile(certFile); I then use it with the SSLStream, and everything works fine. Now that I have switched to Windows 7, the private key seems to be disappearing every time I restart the machine. I run a command prompt as Administrator, and execute the same makecert command shown above. This succeeds and the SSL connection works correctly. If I restart the machine, the call to AuthenticateAsServer fails with the exception "The server mode SSL must use a certificate with the associated private key." Why is the private key disappearing? What do I need to do to make it stick around?

  • Automatic Schema Validation using NHibernate/ActiveRecord

    - by Krembo
Hi, let's assume I have a table of Products with columns: Id, Name, Price and using NHibernate (or ActiveRecord) I map the table to the POCO: public class Product { public virtual long Id { get; set; } public virtual string Name { get; set; } public virtual double Price { get; set; } } Now if someday a new column named ShipmentPrice (let's assume it's double too) will be added to the Products table, is there any way I can automatically know that. For saying automatically I mean adding code to do that or getting an exception? (I assume I don't have control on the columns of the table or a way to know of any changes to the table's schema in advance)
