• Drupal using Solr externally on another machine?

  I'd like to use the Drupal solr search module with the Apache Solr Search hosted on an external machine. I know that Acquia offer this as a service. But it's not an affordable option for me. I'd like to install Solr on an inexpensive VPS and have all my various Drupal sites which are on different hosts accessing the search functions. Am I barking up the wrong tree?

• No "Distribution" setting in latest XCode??

  For some reason, a choice for "Distribution" configuration is not showing up for building an app in the latest XCode 3.2.2 with iPhone SDK 3.2 when I'm trying to build an app for the iPad Any one else seeing this? I can set it to "Debug" or "Release" but there isn't even an option for Distribution.

• PDF printing in java

  Hello, is there a way to print pdf files from a java webapplication on the local printer of the end user (connected via vpn)? The simple lookup of a printer via Java Printing Service always returns printer which are not able to print pdfs. Are there other libs which can be used for printing in java? By the way, just opening the pdf in the browser is not an option, though it must be possible to run scheduled batch printing without user interaction. Thanks in advance

  Is there a way to get a record count or a space-used value for all the tables in a SQL Server Compact database file (SQL CE 3.5.1)?   I want to set a menu option icon for a drawable that is in another jar inside an xml file. <item android:id="@+id/my_location" android:title="My Location" android:icon="@+drawable/my_location"> Instead of drawable/my_location have something like com.somelib.R.drawable.someDrawable. I can set this in onCreateOptionsMenu but was just wondering if it could be done via the xml file.

  In Netbeans or in Eclipse, you can use "Find Usages" or "References" from the right click context menu. If a() calls b(), using the functionality from b() will show you a(). However, what I want is to be able to see some kind of tree or have an option to see all usages of a given/class or method, such that if z() calls a() that using the functionality will show both z() and a(). Any IDE plugins or external tools that can do this?

So i pass additional parameters for the cmd exe to run. How do i accomplish this. I've looked at subprocess.communicate but i was unable to understand it

• SDL_GL_SwapBuffers Segfault

  I'm getting a segfault that GDB says is coming from SDL_GL_SwapBuffers. However, I can't imagine why. The SDL documentation mentions no specific pre-conditions for calling swapBuffers except that double buffering be allowed. Is this an option I have to turn on while initializing OpenGL or is this a hardware capability thing? • Apache Virtual Host in Windows - how do I deal with Symbolic links?

  Hi Folks, I'm trying to run a virtual host on a WAPP stack. My virtual host has the FollowSymLinks option, but in Windows, all those symbolic links (I'm using shortcuts, and I think this may be the problem) have the .lnk extension. So if I'm trying to access settings.html, Apache can't find it because all i have sitting there is settings.html.lnk. Apologies if my question is unclear.

• Is there a free version control server provider for non-public projects?

  I'd like to have a version control server (preferably SVN) accessible on the internet without having to host my own (linux) server. Setting up a home server ala DynDNS is not really an option.
