    Say I have http://www.mysite.com/I-Like-Cheeseburgers and I want that to point to Item with id 3. Sometime later, I change the name of the item, and now its http://www.mysite.com/I-Like-Hamburgers (and perhaps many more times). I want all these URLs to remain pointing to Item 3. Is it efficient to simply keep a table of [strings,item_ids] and do a lookup on this? Is there a better way?

I'm basically looking for something better than the crappy C standard library. What C libraries fit this description? EDIT: I'd prefer that the library was cross-platform, but failing that, anything that works on Mac/Linux.

    In an Excel formula you can use =ISERR(A1) or =ISERROR(A1) In a VBA macro you can use IsError(sheet.Cells(1, 1)) But using a VSTO Excel Addin project I did not found similar function under the Microsoft.Office.Interop.Excel API. My current workaround is to do this for all the existing error messages.: if (((Range)sheet.Cells[1, 1]).Text == "#N/A" || ...) Is there a better way to do this. I mean built in the API?

  • Microsoft Surface: "Read" the tag value of an IdentityTag

    Hi, is it possible to read the value of an IdentityTag if you place it on the TagVisualizer, without having initalized it before? I would like to use the tags for registering a new object on the Surface but having all the "free" IdentityTags in a Collection for initalizing them all... There must be a better way to do in I think. But the TagVisualizer doesn't seem to do anything when you put a tag on it that it doesn't know.

The following does what I want but seems ugly: if echo $* | grep -e "--flag" -q then echo ">>>> Running with flag" else echo ">>>> Running without flag" fi Is there a better way? Note: I explicitly don't want to list all the flags in a switch/getopt. (And BTW the bodies of the if just set a set of vars)

    Is there a quick way to convert a float value to a byte wise (hex) representation in a QByteArray? Have done similar with memcpy() before using arrays, but this doesn't seem to work too well with QByteArray. For example: memcpy(&byteArrayData,&floatData,sizeof(float)); Can go the other way just fine using: float *value= (float *)byteArrayData.data(); Am I just implementing this wrong or is there a better way to do it using Qt?     I am testing an algorithm for different parameters on a computer. I notice the performance fluctuates for each parameters. Say I run for the first time I got 20 ms, second times I got 5ms, third times I got 4ms: But the algorithm should work the same for these 3 times. I am using stopwatch from C# library to count the time, is there a better way to measure the performance without subjecting to those fluctuations?

  • Controller name convention in ASP.NET MVC

    Is there a way to change the naming convention for controllers in ASP.NET MVC? What I want is to name my controllers InicioControlador instead of InicioController, or better yet, use a prefix instead of a suffix, and have ControladorInicio as my controller name. From what I have read so far, I think I have to implement my own Controller Factory. I would be very grateful if any of you could point me in the right direction.

I'm writing an algorithm for finding the second min cost spanning tree. my idea was as follows: 1) Use kruskals to find lowest MST. 2) Delete the lowest cost edge of the MST. 3) Run kruskals again on the entire graph. 4) return the new MST. My question is this: Will this work? Is there a better way perhaps to do this?
