• What's the best way so sync swf and flv playback in single swf movie?

  I want to embed external swf movie and flv file to play in one swf file. I want to have controls to play/pause/start. Embedded swf and flv should play synchronously. Problems begin when swf playback starts but flv wasnt loaded yet. Also I can't preload flv completely. Are the any common patterms for implmenting such scenario?

• Using the same variable across multiple files in C++

  In the process of changing some code, I have spilt some functions into multiple files. I have the files controls.cpp and display.cpp and I would like to be able to have access to the same set of variables in both files. I don't mind where they are initialized or declared, as long as the functions in both files can use them. This was not an issue when the functions were in the same file, but now it seems almost impossible after an hour of googling and trying various things.

  I have a User Control for searching container numbers. If the user enters a container number that's new to the system then I want to tell the VM "I have a new record to add". The MVVM method avoids using Events to communicate with the VM as they create code-behind. Should I create a Dependency Property to trigger the VM but I don't think I've seen other controls with a "NewRecord" property? Any thoughts?

  I have an application that uses an access 2000 database currently in distribution. I need to update one of the recordsets with additional fields on my customer's computers. My data controls work fine as I have them set to connect in access 2000 format but when I try to open the database in code, I get an unrecognized data format error. I think that some values of the form are cached (some controls in a "placeholder" are out of position... meaning they have moved slightly up or down on the web form). In my case it will have some input controls (textbox, datetimepicker, buttons...) so a simple bubble won't do.
