The customer implemented a centralized Enterprise Content Management solution based on Oracle WebCenter Content and developed a strong and repeatable information life cycle management methodology across all their 22 divisions and agencies. With the implemented solution, Alberta Agriculture and Rural Development  centrally manages over 20 million documents for 22 divisions and agencies and they have improved time required to find records,  reliability of information, improved speed and accuracy of reporting and data security. There was a strong need for a personalized easy-to-use, secure and dependable method of managing and consuming content via desktop, Web, and mobile, while improving efficiency and maintaining regulatory compliance by removing the risk of non-uniform approaches to retention and disposition.     Today I can finally say that I finished both of my Bill Gates books that had been lying on the shelf for several years. The books were… The Road Ahead (1995) Business @ the Speed of Thought (1999) I enjoyed “The Road Ahead”, purely because it was fun to read about someone looking into the future at technology, while I could read it looking at the past. In fact I was quite impressed with how much he got right and it was also nice to remember “The good old days”. Business @ the Speed of Thought was a harder read for me. The book still had some good insights, but was tough going at times (possibly because it was several hundred more pages than the first). All that being said, I can now finally place them back on the shelf knowing that they have been read.

    I'm a beginner teaching myself to code but I would like he insight of the PSE community and helping choose where to start. My main objective is to be able to create a basic website to first test my business idea and from there iterate on it quickly to minimise my learning time. The most important criteria for me is speed. An example of speed would be pre-built components available open source and not having to write one from scratch. From my research, this seems to be a death match between the following languages and frameworks: PHP and CakePHP Python and Django Ruby and Rails Assumptions: I am going to be equally good (or bad) in all 3. It is going to be equally easy to find competent developers in either language. I know this to be false already by lets assume that it is. This question is not meant to karma whore as I've seen how passionate some of these standoff questions have been and I'll be happy to turn it into a community wiki.
