jquery - strange behavior in IE..

I have an input field where name='id'
<input type='hidden' name="id" />
While jquery lib works fine in Chrome, it fails in IE. It works when I change from id to idfield - but our server code breaks since it expects the form with element key id.
Is there a work around for this?
PS: I cannot change the server code.

using dynamic forms
