  • Sending test emails in development without spam or rejection issues.

    - by Micah Burnett
I run my development environment in a VM and need to test the delivery and appearance of emails from my applications. The problem is when my SMTP server starts delivering a lot of mail to my corporate email account, the server is soon rejected as a source of spam. Of course, the major Internet email providers will also never accept email from such a server. I've delivered to a specified pickup directory and open in outlook express, but the problem is images always display as broken images.

  • GLSL: How to get pixel x,y,z world position?

    - by Rookie
I want to adjust the colors depending on which xyz position they are in the world. I tried this in my fragment shader: vec4 pos = vec4(gl_FragCoord); // get pixel position but it seems that the z-coord is always towards my camera... how do i make the coords independent from my camera position/angle? Edit: if it matters, heres my vertex shader: gl_Position = ftransform(); Edit2: changed title, so i want world coords, not screen coords!

    - by Anne
I have the following function: $('td:eq(' + iColumn + ') input', oSettings.oApi._fnGetTrNodes(oSettings)) .each(function () { aData.push(this.value); }); In typescript I am getting a message saying: Error 3 Function declared a non-void return type, but has no return expression Why am I getting this message? I can resolve the message by saying "return true". Should I always specify a return type for this?

  • Eclipse's Visual Studio Ctrl+Tab and Ctrl+Shift+Tab Equivalent

    - by jasonh
In Visual Studio, I always use Ctrl+Tab and Ctrl+Shift+Tab to navigate between documents. I see that Eclipse has Ctrl+F6 to navigate between editors, but this isn't nearly the same behavior. The difference being, pressing it once and then again will get you moving back and forth between two files, whereas in VS, it will cause you to navigate forward based on the tab order in the editor. Any ideas on how I can replicate VS's behavior?

    - by Martijn Courteaux
Hi, What is the difference between PrintStream and PrintWriter? They have much methods in common. I always mix up this classes because of that reason. And I think we can use them for exactly the same. But there has to be a difference. Otherwise there was only one class. I first searched on StackOverflow, but not yet this question. Thanks

  • When would JavaScript == make more sense than ===?

    - by bryantsai
As 359494 indicates they are basically identical except '===' also ensures type equality and hence '==' might perform type conversion. In Douglas Crockford's JavaScript: The Good Parts, it is advised to always avoid '=='. However, I'm wondering what the original thought of designing two set of equality operators was. Have you seen any situation that using '==' actually is more suitable than using '==='?

  • Automatic profiling visual studio 2008

    - by phil
Is there a way to do automatic profiling in visual studio 2008? I know how the profiling works both from the command line and using the GUI in VS08. What I want to accomplish: After my nightly build I want to complete some profiling (instrumental) to see if some functions (will most likely always be the same) have changed in some negative way (or positive of course).

  • Java: JButton actionListener explantation

    - by MrDoctorProfessorTyler
I am extremely confused as to how a JButton works. I have read over the oracle documents of the JButton, but I have failed to see how a JButton can have an actionlistener added to it. I have really always wondered how things like JFrames and all that can have things like .addMouseListener and all that. Can anyone explain how a JButton can have an actionListener added to it like the .addActionListener(...) syntax?

  • How to position DIV at bottom of page between two vertical navigation bars

    - by proficients
    I'm having trouble being able to do two things. I can always seem to accomplish one, but not the other. I'd like to have my footer always appear at the bottom of the page AND take up 100% width of the content container. HTML: <div id="wrapper"> <div id="nav_open"> nav_open </div> <div id="content"> <div id="content_header"> content_header </div> <div id="content_body"> content_body </div> <div id="content_footer"> Footer </div> </div> <div id="nav_closed"> nav_closed </div> </div> CSS html, body { margin: 0px; padding: 0px; height: 100%; width: 100%; border: none; } #wrapper { position: relative; width: 100%; min-width: 940px; min-height: 100%; height: 100%; border: 1px solid #ff0000; } #nav_open { position: absolute; top: 0px; left: 0px; width: 125px; height: 100%; border: 1px solid #ff0000; } #content { top: 0px; margin-left: 126px; margin-right: 201px; min-height: 100%; height: 100%; border: 1px solid #ff0000; } #nav_closed { position: absolute; top: 0px; right: 0px; width: 200px; height: 100%; border: 1px solid #ff0000; } #content_header { border: 1px solid #ff0000; } #content_body { border: 1px solid #ff0000; } #content_footer { height: 15px; background: #df781c; border: 1px solid #ff0000; }

  • Help me understand FFT function (Matlab)

    - by estourodepilha.com
    1) Besides the negative frequencies, which is the minimum frequency provided by the FFT function? Is it zero? 2) If it is zero how do we plot zero on a logarithmic scale? 3) The result is always symmetrical? Or it just appears to be symmetrical? 4) If I use abs(fft(y)) to compare 2 signals, may I lose some accuracy?

  • when to make a method static

    - by Don
Hi, I'd like to know how people decide whether to define a method as static. I'm aware that a method can only be defined as static if it doesn't require access to instance fields. So lets say we have a method that does not access instance fields, do you always define such a method as static, or only if you need to call it statically (without a reference to an instance). Perhaps another way of asking the same question, is whether you use static or non-static as the default? Thanks, Don

  • Base Case in a recursive method

    - by Shaza
Hey all, About my question, I'm asking a theoretical question here about Base case or the halting case in a recursive method, what's its standards? I mean, is it standard not to have body in it, just a return statement? Is it always like the following: If(input operation value) return sth; Do you have different thoughts about it??

  • Implementation of java.lang.Random in PHP and C

    - by justinhj
I'm looking for a random number generator that I can run in PHP, C and Java that will always return the same sequence of numbers for a given seed. Here's the Java implementation I would use: java.util.random source Whilst this would be fairly straightforward to port to C and PHP, there is potentially a lot of work to get all the edge cases correct and handle differences in number representation. I'd be extremely happy to just copy and paste a fully tested version should it exist.

  • What are possible causes of IDirect3DVertexBuffer9::Lock failing?

    - by Suma
In error reports from some I have quite often seen following behaviour: IDirect3DVertexBuffer9::Lock fails, returned error code is D3DERR_NOTAVAILABLE. Once this happens, quite frequently (but not always) it is followed by CreateTexture or CreateVertexBuffer failing with error D3DERR_OUTOFVIDEOMEMORY. What are possible reasons for vertex buffer lock failure? Could virtual memory address space exhausted, or what?

  • Minimalist array creation in c#

    - by sipwiz
I've always wanted to be able to use the line below but the C# compiler won't let me. To me it seems obvious and unambiguos as to what I want. myString.Trim({'[', ']'}); I can acheive my goal using: myString.Trim(new char[]{'[', ']'}); So I don't die wondering is there any other way to do it that is closer to the first approach?

  • Regular Expression problem

    - by Yatendra Goel
I want a regex to find the following types of strings: http://anything.abc.tld http://anything.abc.tld/ where abc - abc always remains abc anything - it could be any string tld - it could be any tld (top-level-domain) like .com .net .co.in .co.uk etc. Note: The url must not contain any other thing at the end, means http://anything.abc.tld/xyz is not acceptable.
