  • jquery/javascript to disable button within a table cell

    - by user1831612
I have a table cell with 2 buttons in it. <td align="left" > <input type="button" value="edit"/> <input type="button" value="save" disabled="disabled"/> </td> By default save button is disabled. On the click of edit button, save button button must be enabled. The problem is i cannot assign id's to buttons since the table is dynamically generated using struts2 s:iterator tag. If i do there will be 2 or more cells with the same id How can I achieve this?

  • jquery document height reported incorrectly by IE (on XP) first time

    - by Zhami
I'm having a "first time" problem with IE, which reports a different value for $(document).height(); when the page first loads versus subsequent queries. The difference is 17 pixels regardless of the opening size of the window -- on document ready, the height reported is 17 pixels larger than is subsequently reported. I wonder if this is an artifact of some aspect of my page (some margins or paddings somewhere), but so far can't account for 17 pixels.

  • Javascript/Jquery - Reset text box view area after tab

    - by JK
I don't know what this is called so its hard to google for it. If you have a plain html input type=text with a small width eg 20 and then type more characters than can be displayed, it shows the last characters you type. And the first ones are scrolled out of view: This is my long text // this is the whole string my long string // this is what is actually visible in the input box How do I make it so that when you hit tab, the view area resets so that the start of the string is visible and the end is hidden? my long string // this is what is visible in the input box when typing This is my // this is what is I want to be visible in the input box after you hit tab What do you call this, and how do you do it?

  • How do I parse this JSON with jQuery?

    - by Mike
So I had this structure in xml and I was able to parse it successfully. Now what I have done is that I converted this xml into a JSON using www.xmltojson.org but I am not able to parse it . I am setting these files locally on we localhost web server: <script> $(function() { $.ajax({ url:'feed.json', dataType:'json', type:'GET', success:function(json) { /// what to do here }. error: { alert("Parse Failed"); } }); }); </script> I am trying to learn JSON, so I am little unsure as to where I am doing wrong, or even if that is the correct approah. • how can I get jquery.sIFR plugin to display sIFR-alternate text for print?

    - by apeBoy
I'm struggling with this. I've used the jquery sIFR plugin as opposed to sIFR it prevented conflicts with other jquery I am using on my pages. It works fine in its prime function: replacing html text with Flash. However, the .sIFR-alternate class is given an inline style of 'opacity: 0' which persists when flashblock is on. So alternate text does not appear. Neither does it appear when printng the page (yes I have included styles for sIFR-print). I've tried replacing the opacity:0 inline style with display: none but this causes height issues with the output flash. Any one else had this or have any ideas?

  • jQuery: inherit functions to several objects

    - by Fuxi
    hi, i made several table-based-widgets (listview-kind-of) which all have the same characteristics: styling odd/even rows, hover on/off, set color onClick, deleting a row when clicking on trash-icon. so it's always the same (prototype-)code for each widget. is there a way to have the code only once then simply apply/inherit it to all widgets? 2nd, here's some of the code - could this be optimized? var me = this; $("tr",this.table).each(function(i) { var tr = $(this); tr.bind("mouseover",function(){me.hover(tr,true)}); tr.bind("mouseout",function(){me.hover(tr,false)}); tr.bind("click",function(){me.Click(tr)}); }); $("tr").filter(":odd").addClass("odd");

  • Set the mouseover Attribute of a div using JQuery

    - by Abs
Hello all, I would like to set an attribute for a div. I have done this: $('#row-img_1').onmouseover = function (){ alert('foo'); }; $('#row-img_2').onmouseout = function (){ alert('foo2'); }; However, the above has not worked, it does not alert when mouse is over or when it moves out. I have also tried the $('#row-img_1').attr(); and I could not get this to work either. I am aware that I should be using a more effective event handling system but my divs are dynamically generated. Plus this is a small project. ;) Thanks all for any help.

  • asp.net mvc jQuery $.post works but $.get doesn't

    - by iboeno
    Why would POST work but not GET? I'm not using [AcceptVerbs(HttpVerbs.Post)]. I'm calling this: public ActionResult GetTest(string key) { var test = new { HelpTest = key }; return Json(test); } And it works when I do this: $.post("/Home/GetTest", { key: options.key }, function(helpTest) { alert(helpTest.HelpTest); }); But not this: $.get("/Home/GetTest", { key: options.key }, function(helpTest) { alert(helpTest.HelpTest); }); Why would this be? Using GET returns an XMLHttpRequest.status of 500. What am I confused about?

  • jQuery adding a function to a link question

    - by wali
Hello all, I have a dynamically created table which in the last <td> there is a hidden <div> which is shown when the user hovers over a link in the <td>. That all works fine but there are several links in the div that I want to fire a function based on the id of the link concat'd with an string captured from a <td> from the parent row. I can capture the the variables I need from the id and <td> but something is wrong with the click function I have created. I monitored the function in FireBug and the function appears to be firing on all of the links instead of the one that is clicked. Here is my working code: function fixLink() { $('a.batchMatchLink').click( function() { var r = $(this).parent().parent().parent().parent().parent(); var x = $(this).attr("id"); var a = $(r).find('td:nth-child(6)').text(); var st = x + "." + a; fireLink(st); } ); } function fireLink(st) { $.ajax({ type: "POST", url: "AjaxWcf.svc/MatchBatch", contentType: "application/json; charset=utf-8", data: st, dataType: "json", success: function(msg) { alert("Entry has been updated"); }, error: AjaxFailed }); Why are all of the links firing? Thanks!!!

Is this possible or do I have to use CSS to change the images?

  • applying a var to an if statement jquery

    - by Dirty Bird Design
Need to apply a var to a statement if its conditions are met, this syntax isn't throwing errors but its not working. <script type="text/javascript"> $(document).ready(function(){ var action_is_post = false; //stuff here $(this).ready(function () { if ($("#stepDesc0").is(".current")) { action_is_post = true; } }); //stuff here </script> should I use something other than .ready? Do I even need the $(this).ready(function ()... part? I need it to apply the var when #stepDesc0 has the class current.

  • JQuery-AJAX: No further request after timeout and delay in form post

    - by Nogga
I got a form containing multiple checkboxes. This form shall be sent to the server to receive appropriate results from a server side script. This is already working. What I would achieve now: 1) Implementing a timeout: This is already working, but as soon as a timeout occurs, a new request is not working anymore. 2) Implementing a delay in requesting results: A delay shall be implemented so that not every checkbox is resulting in a POST request. This is what I have right now: function update_listing() { // remove postings from table $('.tbl tbody').children('tr').remove(); // get the results through AJAX var request = $.ajax({ type: "POST", url: "http://localhost/hr/index.php/listing/ajax_csv", data: $("#listing_form").serialize(), timeout: 5000, success: function(data) { $(".tbl tbody").append(data); }, error: function(objAJAXRequest, strError) { $(".tbl tbody").append("<tr><td>failed " + strError + "</td></tr>"); } }); return true; } Results are for now passed as HTML table rows - I will transform them to CSV/JSON in the next step. Thanks so much for your advice.

  • Display image at point using jQuery

    - by Chris
I have an image with a click event handler that captures the location where you clicked. $("#image").click(function(e) { var x = e.pageX - $(this).offset().left; var y = e.pageY - $(this).offset().top; }); I want it so that when the image is clicked an image appears at that location on top of the image. How do I do this?
