  I'm implementing an FTP like protocol in Linux (homework) and I came upon the following problem: the client may be able to connect() and write() before the other side managed to do accept() (but after it did listen()). How can I prevent the write operation from working without relying on passing messages like "accept succeeded, you can write now" in a different communication channel?

When the first background worker completes and the RunWorkerCompleted event is fired, on which thread will that event fire, the UI or the first background worker from which RunWorkerAsync was called?   I can initialize a List like new List{1,2,3,4,5}; However List does not have a constructor which accepts a single parameter. So I tried to run this through the debugger and it seems to be calling the Add method. So how does the compiler know which method to invoke to add each individual element.   In CSS, if it is #main #display img { height: 80px } that means all images within an element with id display that is within another element with id main. But does it make sense or is it legal since id seems to be just global names. It is because SASS actually allow nesting and some code may nest it like #main width: 700px #display img height: 80px which is "id within id".
