After reading the MSDN article about proper user interface here:
http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa974176.aspx
I want to modify the message boxes I use in my applications to reflect those guidelines (for example, have the Main Instructions in a larger font, better named Buttons, etc...).
My question is, is there an API that allows you to easily build those kind of message boxes (a la user32\MessageBox()), or do you actually have to build your own message boxes which follow the guidelines?
Hi all,
I want to write an application that will monitor the content of all open tabs in IE / FireFox and trigger event once particular data is displayed in the tab.
I would like to know if there is an API for IE/FF to set focus on particular TAB, so that once event is triggered I set focus on a relevant tab.
Thanks in advance
What is the official DataGridView nomenclature description of the little black triangle in the first column? Also, what it is for and which bit of the API can tell me where it is?
It just seems to be set to the row of the last cell I changed the selected state of.

This is for a searching a document repository built using asp.net

According to the java API, the constructor Date(year, month, day) is depreciated. I know that I can replace it with the following code:
Calendar myCal = Calendar.getInstance();
myCal.set(Calendar.YEAR, theYear);
myCal.set(Calendar.MONTH, theMonth);
myCal.set(Calendar.DAY_OF_MONTH, theDay);
Date theDate = myCal.getTime();
However, I would like something shorter to replace it with (ideally one-two lines).
Any suggestions?

Seeking a method to:
Take whitespace separated tokens in a String; return a suggested Word
ie:
Google Search can take "fonetic wrd nterpreterr",
and atop of the result page it shows "Did you mean: phonetic word interpreter"
A solution in any of the C* languages or Java would be preferred.
Are there any existing Open Libraries which perform such functionality?
Or is there a way to Utilise a Google API to request a suggested word?

So I have a List collection that I fetch via a API call (which I don't have any control over).
The list is ordered.
public class Article
{
articleID,
string Url
}
So I have a Url value, using that I want to figure out the next and previous Url's if any.
What's the most elegant way of doing this?
Hi,
On the MSDN is there some sort of reference which details every native function inside the Windows API for different versions say from Windows XP upwards?
I have been googling and looking round the MSDN but I must not be looking for the correct thing.
Any help would be appreciated.
Cheers,
Andrew
Which CMS are you using in Java and what is your experience with it (in terms of extensibility, usage comfort, framework API, memory usage, performance etc.). I am looking for suggestions.
My manager has asked me to assess what changes would be required to add multicast support to a socket-based TCP/IP networking program that is part of a trading system.
As far as I can tell, from the perspective of a Java program, it doesn't seem to matter too much whether the program is unicast or multicast.
Doesn't the Java networking API make all of this transparent? By this I mean, wouldn't the change be a simple one of simply adding additional destinations for the outgoing connections?
