When I click on a hyperlink in Excel 2004 for Mac, I get a warning message saying that the file might contain a virus. Is it possible to turn this warning off? If so, how?

There is a permanent yellow bar under the toolbar in Outlook 2007 saying "Click here to enable instant search".
When I click on it, the following message appears:
I click No, and the annoying yellow bar is still there. How can I get rid of it? I don't want to install Instant Search feature.
sudo apt-get remove webcontentcontrol
sudo apt-get -f install
sudo apt-get upgrade
sudo pkill webcontentcontrol
sudo apt-get remove webcontentcontrol
still doesn't work
I always get the error message "Sub-process /usr/bin/dpkg returned an error code (1)" after
sudo apt-get remove webcontentcontrol
What should I do?

From time to time, OS X (10.6) will ask me if I want to perform a backup of my Macintosh HD, but the backup destination is obviously the HD itself. I have not plugged in any external device, nor is there a Time Capsule network share.
A message like this will appear:
Moreover, the Macintosh HD will suddenly have a Time Machine icon in Finder. Has somebody experienced the same and could help me identify how to stop OS X from using its own disk as the backup destination?
I have an application (.exe) which I am running via a scheduled task on Windows Server 2008 R2.
The task runs fine but when the .exe returns a non-zero exit code the task is still successful when it should fail.
I get this message:
Task Scheduler successfully completed task "\CustomerDataSourceETL - Whics" , instance "{a574f6b4-2614-413c-8661-bc35eaeba7cd}" , action "E:\applications\CCDB-ETL\CustomerDataSourceETLConsole.exe" with return code 214794259.
How can I get task scheduler to detect that the return code is 0 and fail the task?
I'm dealing with a server running SQL Server 2000 SP1, and the logical filenames for one of the databases appear to contain trailing spaces. That is, this query:
select replace(name, ' ', 'X')
from sysfiles
Returns the expected names plus a long string of Xs.
How can I deal with this? I've tried running ALTER DATABASE... MODIFY FILE using the name (with and without spaces) and get an error message telling me the file does not exist.
In windows 7, I have a wifi network that shows up with a warning icon overlay and the "No internet access" description as shown in this image:
The other network shown there is a VirtualBox VM, and is expected to show that way.
Plainly, this notice is wrong as I have been browsing with that connection all afternoon and used it to post this question.
So my question is, what makes this message come up, and how can I make it go away?
I am working with a Windows XP laptop that whenever it is shutdown will display a warning that the "MediaContextNotificationWindow" is attempting to close, eventually requiring you to force it to close. It does not appear to matter if the laptop is on or off the network, it will still display the message. I have done a little research into the MediaContextNotificationWindow, and it seems like it is either a part of the Windows Media Player or .Net 3.5, though I'm not entirely sure.
Has anyone come across this error and know how to resolve it?
I'm using a PHP librairy to send email through postfix.
But i'm keep getting this message in the logs when i try to send emails : postfix/sendmail[15782]: fatal: -n option not supported
I will remove this flag from my code but i'm curious about the purpose of this flag which seems to be useless (http://linux.die.net/man/1/sendmail.postfix).
I can't find any information about it on google, any idea about the purpose of this option?
When login through a terminal into my Ubuntu 9.10 Server, I see the following message:
=> There is 1 zombie process.
How can I identify this zombie process?
Is anybody know how to have Symantec Enterprise Vault 7.5.2.1862 functional with Windows XP x64?
I get the error message that valkyrie.dll cannot be charged.
I'm still searching for a x64 client or a fix for this dll file.
I use Gmail and Mac's Mail for emails.
It seems that you can use git am only with a terminal's Mail in OS X/Ubuntu.
I apparently need to set up my ~/.mailrc such that
# gmail account
account gmail {
set from="[email protected] (Masi Masi)"
set sendmail="/usr/bin/msmtp"
set message-sendmail-extra-arguments="-a gmail"
}
I run
mail [email protected]
I get
Unknown command: "account"
How can you use Gmail for Mail such that I get my mails' patches to git am?
I'm using 64-bit TortoiseSVN on a 64-bit Windows 7 Professional. Every so often a checkout or update will fail with an error message like the following:
Error: Can't move
Error: '[...]\\.svn\tmp\entries'
Error: to
Error: '[...]\\.svn\entries':
Error: The file or directory is corrupted and unreadable.
then CHKDSK runs after reboot, which makes me nervous.
Does anyone know why this might be happening or how I can avoid it?
I have installed and configured policyd 2.0.8 according to INSTALL document in installation directory. My webui works fine, no problem reported in logs.
And then I setup some quotas on Default policy.
Quota:
- Policy: Default
- Name: Sending quota
- Track: SenderIP:/24
- Period: 3600
- Verdict: REJECT
- Data:
- Disabled: no
Limits:
- Type: Message count
- Counter limit: 2
- Disabled: no
But, problem is that I'm still able to send as manu messages as I want. Perhaps I missing something?
Outlook 2007 under Windows XP connecting to Exchange 2003 SP2: when started, it flips back and forth between "Connecting to Exchange Server" and "Disconnected" three or four times, then gives up and stays disconnected.
I tried deleting the ost file (which was nearly 2GB), turning Cached mode on and off, recreating the account inside the Mail control panel, changing the account to use HTTP, and probably some other things. None of it seemed to make any difference, until …
After fiddling with it for a while, I got this absurd error message dialog at startup, and it exits after I click OK:
Cannot start Microsoft Office Outlook. Cannot open the Outlook window. The set of folders cannot be opened. Microsoft Exchange is not available. Either there are network problems or the Exchange server is down for maintenance.
(I'm not sure if I can even trust that message. It's so long, it just feels like a random offset into Outlook's stack of error messages.)
Either way, the Exchange server is available to everyone else, and is available via OWA from that computer. I ran Process Explorer against Outlook and it showed 5 or so ESTABLISHED connections to our Exchange server, plus listening on two UDP ports, and two CLOSE_WAIT connections to localhost. If I managed to look at Outlook's IP connections while it was doing its Connecting/Disconnected dance, it had a huge number of connections open to the Exchange server. It more than filled ProcExp's dialog box; I'm guessing at least 20, probably more.
The only other odd thing is that our network admin at some point added a wildcard DNS record to the domain name that we use for email, and now Outlook will sometimes (always?) start by complaining about autodiscover.example.com's SSL certificate. There is a web server there, but it doesn't have any sort of email autodiscover anything on it. It doesn't make any difference if I click "OK" or "Cancel" (or whatever the buttons are). I also added a bogus entry for the hostname to Windows' hosts file, pointing it at 127.0.0.2, and it stopped complaining about the certificate. (The CLOSE_WAIT sockets above were from before I made this change, and went away after.) I don't think this is related, as the same problem should exist for everyone, but it might be.
This is the second time this user has had this problem. The first time, I never found a solution other than reinstalling Outlook. Now that it's a pattern, I'd like to find a permanent solution, rather than assume it's a random glitch.
I have a server running on windows server 2008. Recently we created a domain and added it to the domain. A domain user account was created with same username and password as my previous local administrator account. Now I unable to login using my local account. I tried loggin in using SERVERNAME\Username, but it is giving incorrect password error message. Is there any way I can retrieve or create a new local administrator account on a domain computer
I have this very strange problem with a website. The site works normal when coming from a webbrowser which is non-mobile. But when trying to reach the site via a mobile device (tried different browsers) it doesn't get to the website.
The only error I see is:
This website is not available and the message is:
DNS_PROBE_POSSIBLE
Does anyone know where I should look for the problem. The website is based on Joomla.
The Url of the site is: http://bit.ly/1bOToII
Hi
I've been having a problem getting phpmyadmin to work consistently on my XP desktop and laptop computers for months now. When I type into Chrome's browser on both machines, localhost/phpmyadmin, I kept getting Error #1045 Access Denied for user at root@localhost (using password yes).
Eventually, I realized that I had two (2) versions of mysql installed (XAMPP and MySQL Server 5.1) on both machines. So I uninstalled the MySQL Server 5.1I from the desktop and phpmyadmin worked. But when I uninstalled MySQL Server 5.1 from my laptop, it did not work. But I realized I could still get into MySQL Commandline Client using my password and that my databases were still intact. So I uninstalled and reinstalled XAMPP on the laptop and phpmyadmin worked after that.
Now I have a new problem. On phpMyAdmin's home page has a message at the bottom:
Your configuration file contains settings (root with no password) that correspond to the default MySQL privileged account. Your MySQL server is running with this default, is open to intrusion, and you really should fix this security hole by setting a password for user 'root'.
So I located the following lines in config.inc.php file:
/* Authentication type and info */
$cfg['Servers'][$i]['auth_type'] = 'config';
$cfg['Servers'][$i]['user'] = 'root';
$cfg['Servers'][$i]['password'] = '';
$cfg['Servers'][$i]['AllowNoPassword'] = true;
and I just changed the last 2 lines as follows:
$cfg['Servers'][$i]['password'] = 'mypassword';
$cfg['Servers'][$i]['AllowNoPassword'] = false;
As soon as I did that and I tried to access phpmyadmin again, I got the Error #1045 message again, but when I tried https://localhost/phpmyadmin/ I got a red page saying this sites certificate is not trusted would you like to proceed anyway. And now it only works using https.
I would really like to settle all my phpmyadmin problems once and for all so here are my questions:
1. Why does my laptop only access phpmyadmin via https?
2. How do I change my password in my configuration file?
Also, if you have any other tips regarding phpMyAdmin, they are very welcome. Thanks in advance
I'm looking for a, preferably free, NTP Server for Windows Server 2003/2008. We have already tried the built in Windows Time Server, but our tests did show that it is not very accurate, we see time differences up to 500ms. The max time difference we can allow for our application is ~100ms.
Now we have already used the Meinberg NTPd for Windows. It works great except we have one big issue with it: If there is a network connection problem between the client and server, the ntp server is in a panic state It won't give the client a new time until we restart the ntp service. This is a big issue which has caused us some trouble. It was working fine for months until there was a network problem we didn't notice, we only noticed it after a week when the time difference was already 30 sec. on the clients.
So please suggest some alternative NTP Server for windows. I did Google but I get a lot of unrelated search results.
Edit:
So far the ntpd windows version was very accurate and I'd like to stick with it. The only problem is the "panic state" after a network disconnect. Maybe some knows here what the cause of this is and how to fix it.
Also, I forgot to mention that we have a server/client setup like this:
Server1 -- Server2 -- Server3 -- Client1
-- Client2
-- Client3
So Server2 gets its time from Server1, Server3 gets its time from Server2, and the Clients get their time from Server3. Also, there are clients connected directly to Server2. It is important that all Servers and Clients have the exact same time (within ~100ms)
Now there was a network problem with Server3 and its clients. The servers run the ntpd port for Windows, which acts as NTP server and client. The clients have Dimension4 as NTP client. After the network problem, the error message in D4 was something like this (out the top of my head, don't have the exact error message):
Server response: The server is in a panic state (could not sync clock)
I read through the ntpd docs, and the only mention of "panic" is when the time difference is 10000 seconds which will cause to exit the ntpd server but this was not the case. Also there is a "-g" command line switch to disable the panic exit, but it is already set by default.
Any ideas what could cause the panic state and how to get rid of it next time?
Normally, Google Chrome Canary cannot be set to be the system's default browser - it shows the following message in its settings:
This is a secondary installation of Google Chrome, and cannot be made your default browser.
They have good reasons, but nevertheless I want to use it as my default. How can I set Google Chrome Canary as the default browser on Windows 8?
I found numerous solutions online about previous Windows versions, all revolving around editing the registry, and unfortunately none of them were able to solve this for me.
I'm looking at message queueing for client/server communication in a new product. One of the problems with MSMQ is that it's not installed by default on most Windows desktops, and that it doesn't seem to be available as a redistributable for inclusion in our MSI.
Given that the administrator will have access to Microsoft SMS or ConfigMgr or similar, how do I persuade them that it's easy to install? That is: how do I automate installation of the MSMQ components?
