  • Mailto links are not working in Chrome

    - by sfoatl
Mailto links are not working at all in Chrome (8.0.552.224). These links are working in IE 7&8, Safari, and Firefox. In Chrome, we are clicking on mailto links (we have tested this about 25 times now), and things just go into the ether. In all other browsers, we click on the mailto links, they open up email clients (gmail, outlook, and others), and we can send the email. But in Chrome, we click the mailto links and nothing happens...

  • which mail server is better suited for high volume? [closed]

    - by crashintoty
I'm planning out a project (web/mobile app) that would require a mail server that could handle hundreds of thousands connections per hour (both IMAP/POP and SMTP) and has the ability to interface with PHP (or python or whatever) to dynamically create, delete and check for mailboxes? This is not for spam stuff, I just need my app to generate random mailboxes (and static/permanent ones too) to receive mail and process it for items listed on my service. The little research I've done so far has turned up courier, dovecot, cyrus and haraka. I think the ability to scale and/or load balance (I'm new to these terms, pardon me) would also be a requirement. Any ideas?

  • Different positioning in Firefox, Internet Explorer and Safari?

    - by Hristo
Hello, I believe this question has been asked a lot of times, and I have managed to overcome this problem before whenever it occurred. Just now, I feel stuck with it and can't find a proper solution to make it work in all browsers: it does work properly only in Firefox, while in IE and Safari its elements are somehow apart from each other. You can see the result here: http://img813.imageshack.us/img813/8393/firefox.png http://img812.imageshack.us/img812/8041/10990669.png This is the code I use: http://pastebin.com/n6KEjazp Thank you very much in advance!

  • Is the W3 standard a major factor when google decides SERP position?

    - by Camran
I have a dynamic php website which index only has around 800 errors according to the w3 validator online. I have tried checking major websites like ebay, stackoverflow and others also, all with around 400 errors. So my first thought is, what good is that validator when it always displays errors? Secondly, will the errors affect my SERP ranking? ie, will me fixing these errors as good as I can increase my Google search position? Thanks

  • Haskell -> After parsing how to work with strings

    - by bito08
Hello after doing the parsing with a script in Haskell I got a file with the 'appearance' of lists of strings. However when I call the file content with the function getContents or hGetContents, ie, reading the contents I get something like: String with lines (schematically what I want is: "[" aaa "," bbb "" ccc "]" - ["aaa", "bbb" "ccc"]). I have tried with the read function but without results. I need to work with these lists of strings to concatenating them all in a single list. Thanks.

  • Sample code for POST + cookie?

    - by OverTheRainbow
Hello, I've been googling for some VB.Net code to authenticate to a web server with the POST method, receive a session ID in a cookie, and then send this cookie along with all GET queries... but all I found is half-working code or C# code, ie. difficult to use for a VB.Net newbie. Would someone have some code handy or some pointer that I could use to get started? Thank you.

  • Anchor tag issue in FF; targeting hidden div...

    - by Biff
Hello! I'm having an issue with Firefox and anchor links from an external page to a tab div on the landing page; while IE render these correctly (I know, that means little), FF and Chrome both send the user to a place somewhat above or below the actual anchor tag. I didn't write the original code, but I'm not able to find much about a FF bug that would cause this, or a solution? • named anchors not working in safari

    - by David
Hi there, can anyone explain why named anchor tags would not work in safari but work fine in other browsers: ie, ff, opera, chrome. I have some links to different areas of the same page and nothing happens when clicking on them in safari only. All the other browsers mentioned take me to that area of the page. I have tried using both the id and the name attribute for the anchors but neither makes any difference.

  • HTML table print large column

    - by Emma
Windows XP, IE 7 If the data in one of the column in table is more than say 800 bytes, it seems to print partial pages. Previews also appears same (span into multiple partial pages). What is the best way so that large number of rows with wide coulumns (fixed width) are printed properly without giving blank or partial page. Used table with thead and colgroup with width in 14%.

  • Is it okay to use zoom:1 in my css classes?

    - by Spines
Whenever I find IE is displaying my website weird (different from chrome and firefox), I try putting a zoom:1 in the css class for the part that is being displayed weird. A lot of the time this fixes the problem and makes it look consistent with the other browsers. Is it a problem to use zoom:1? I know my CSS won't validate, but are there any real world problems that can arise if I rely too much on using zoom:1?
