  I have seen different type of js function call like function aTestFunction(param) { // function body } and also: aTestFunction = function(param) { // function body } what is the difference in above to implementaion? Also, i found that jquery/prototype js framework uses the second implementation in most cases. Is there any special reason for that? The thing I dislike the most is the inability to use the old-school MDI windows instead of the dreaded tabbed documents. For the other side the usage generator seems like it may prove useful in time. • HTML5 elements working in Chrome but not Safari or Firefox?

  Hi, I'm using the HTML5 elements and in a project i'm working on (see it here) and the css seems to be working fine in Chrome. However, it doesn't appear to be working in Safari or Firefox (I haven't tested IE, but I'd imagine it's the same), and the page layout is all over the place. Any ideas why this may be? I know Firefox and Safari both support these elements, and Safari is webkit-based like Chrome, so I can't figure out what the problem is.

• Am I supposed to store hashes for passwords?

  User System and Passwords: I was looking through MD5 stuff, and I am wondering what is the normal/good practice for passwords. Right now, I think people super encrypt the passwords and store the hashes. If so, how does password checking work? I just have the input password go through the encryption process again and then check the hash with the stored one, correct? This question may contradict the above, but should my salt ever be a randomly generated value?

I think firstly, I should find all the functions that call SHA1 algorithm, and I should understand why SHA1 is still used.   If I call new Date() it will get the current time for the machine my app is running on. I'm assuming that the machines on the Google App Engine do not all have their time synchronized.
