  • Ubuntu cannot play all the videos on yahoo

    Hello, I have latest Ubuntu installed, with firefox 3.6.3. I have flashplugin-installer and ubuntu-restricted-extras installed. No other package concerning flash (gnash, swf) is installed. I can play videos on youtube or some other sites, some even some videos on yahoo, but I cannot play this video (and some others) - the blue circle in the center (like loading...) keeps flashing forever. Why can't I play it, and how to make it play?

  • Windows 8 Fails to resume from sleep

    I have this weird issue. When I put the computer to sleep by pressing the power button, or using the sleep option in Charms, I can wake it up normally. However, if I close the lid, and later reopen it, all the fans come on, but nothing appears on the screen. I didn't have this issue using Windows 7.   • Can the Microsoft Surface Pro drive multiple external monitors?

    I am interested in simultaneously connecting two Dell UltraSharp 2407WFP 24-inch Widescreen Flat Panels to my Microsoft Surface Pro. Currently I am attempting to utilize a StarTech Mini DisplayPort to DisplayPort / DVI / HDMI Multifunction Adapter by connecting one monitor to the adapter via HDMI and the other via DisplayPort. Unfortunately, I am only getting video on the Surface itself and the monitor connected via DisplayPort. Is this StarTech adapter capable of simultaneously driving two monitors? Is the Surface itself even capable of driving two monitors?

  • Skype crashes randomly after/during calls.

    My Skype crashes randomly after and during voice and video calls. This is a screen grab of the error. I tried googling this error but really didn't find any solution. Anyone knows how to solve this. I can still use Skype, but I can't use any extra's and the random crashes during the calls are very unnerving. Any permanent solutions for this error?     I'm running some lengthy video encodes using the Handbrake command line interface. After all my encodes are done, I would like to have the PC speaker beep, as I usually turn my large external speakers off. On Linux I would install the "beep" package, but so far I haven't found such a program for Windows 7.   • Are there any advantages to using windows 7 ultimate? I can't tell the diference

    I just upgraded my new desktop which came installed with Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit with a copy of Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit and so far I have not noticed any difference in performance. Even my Windows Experience Index number is the same 5.5 that it was before the upgrade. So what's the point, are there any performance advantages that I'm not seeing? Additional Info My system hardware specs: AMD quad core 2.6 GHZ 1 TB 4200 RPM HDD 8 GB DDR2 RAM ATI Radeon HD 4650 w/ 1GB dedicated video memory

  • I can't see headers or footers on Word 2007 unless in full screen view

    I have a machine on a domain that does not show any headers or footers when viewing documents in word 2007, unless I switch to full screen mode.
