  • Which European conference is the best equivalent of OSCON?

    Looking for a large European developer/software conference, open-source-friendly, programming-language-neutral, platform-neutral, vendor-neutral. Any recommendations? apparently there briefly used to be a Euro OSCON (2004-2006? what happened?) some good language/app-specific ones like EuroPython, EuroSciPy, DjangoCon European BarCamps seem kind of fragmented, esp. for an English-speaking audience anything bigger or better? If there isn't anything, I wonder if O'Reilly would resurrect Euro OSCON.

  • List of phone number country codes

    On this Wikipedia entry I found out that ITU Telecommunication Standardization Sector (ITU-T) is providing such list of country calling codes. Here is a pdf: http://www.itu.int/dms_pub/itu-t/opb/sp/T-SP-E.164D-2009-PDF-E.pdf I wonder where to find this in a xml file or similar? I need to do find out which country a phone number is from, both in javascript and c#.

    I have been approached to create a website using Sabre Web Services to power the reservations system. All documentation I have seen refers to .NET or Java solutions, I was in doubt whether PHP can be used as access is performed using SOAP. I have found no further information about this, I assume the answer is yes, but wonder why there is not a single reference to this being possible - all solutions seem to be .NET Any suggestions?     I watched a free high quality video with Aaron Hillegass about Core Data vs Tokyo Cabinet. Besides that this guy is amazingly funny (really, if you want to laugh now, watch it!), he shows off Tokyo Cabinet beeing about 40x faster than Core Data. I wonder if it's worth thinking about how to attach this to Core Data? Does that make any sense? Maybe as a custom atomic store or something like this?

After that installed the solution through Cental Administration Site and activated in the site collection. I just wonder how can I debug the complex feature/solution ? Because both processes (build-deploy and activate) totally independent, how can I attach a process with the worker process ?

Their legal name changed, so naturally their login name and associated identity stuff changed.     Hey Folks, I am currently playing around with CSS3 and trying to achieve a text effect like this (the black blurry inner shadow): But I cannot find a way to create text shadows inside the text. I wonder whether it is still possible because the box-shadow element is able to render shadow inside like this: box-shadow: inset 0px -5px 10px 0px rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.5); Any ideas?

  • Sproutcore SC.arrayProxy, where is in the docs?

    I'm reading the getting started guide of sproutcore, about the Todo app. Around the beginning they tell to instantiate a controller from the SC.arrayProxy class. But this class is not present in the docs!!! and even in google is nowhere to be found! where does it come out from?? EDIT: I discovered that SC.arrayProxy is only in sproutcore 2! I wonder what are the differences from SC.arrayController

    Hi, I'm using the Jquery plugin Address to achieve deep linking. The generated urls come out in the format www.example.com/#/tab/image, but what I need is www.example.com/#tab/image. The plugin seems to automatically generate the /#/ part. I wonder does anyone know how to do this? Or even if it's possible? I would greatly appreciate any help. Thanks in advance

    i wonder if HTML5 Web Storage will be cleared when browser clears its cache? if it did, many ppl like me may lose data if i accidentally clear cache? or like in this comment ... Since HTML5 local storage is kept separate from js cookies (like Silverlight, Gears, Flash), it opens up a world of 3rd party privacy issues for HTML5 as these objects will likely NOT get deleted with a clear cache or delete temporary data ... where web storage is not cleared, but leads to privacy issues?

    i have urls like http://mysite.com/index.php?p=resources http://mysite.com/index.php?p=resources&s=view&id=938 but i want urls like http://mysite.com/resources http://mysite.com/resources/view/938 instead of making hundreds of rewrite rules i wonder if it would be possible to just have one? Ive head this is possible by "getting the uri and splitting it into parts" and then just add a rewrite rule for index.php but how? could someone give an example or link a tutorial

    Hello, I just wrote some NIO-code and wonder how to stress-test my implementation regarding SocketChannel.write(ByteBuffer) not able to write the whole byte-buffer SocketChannel.read(ByteBuffer) reading the data in chunks into ByteBuffer are there some simple linux-utilities like telnet to open a ServerSocket with some buffering-options?
