• How do I read a secure rss feed into a SyndicationFeed without providing credentials?

  For whatever reason, IBM uses https (without requiring credentials) for their RSS feeds. I'm trying to consume https://www.ibm.com/developerworks/mydeveloperworks/blogs/roller-ui/rendering/feed/gradybooch/entries/rss?lang=en with a .NET 4 SyndicationFeed. I can open this feed in a browser and it loads just fine.   After installing Qt SDK for Open Source C++ development on Mac OS by following the respective steps Note for the binary package: If you have the binary package, simply double-click on the Qt.mpkg and follow the instructions to install Qt. . Yes, that is all I have done to install Qt on MacOsX. Everything was going fine, until I run a sample application, of which compile output resulted in: No valid Qt version set. Set one in Preferences Error while building project qtilk When executing build step 'QMake' Canceled build.   Hello, Normally we all do use using System.Linq; and using System.Data.Linq; for example on the code-behind and expect we can reach the members of these namespaces from Source Code like <%= Something.First()%> but when I wrote it, asp.net said it couldn't find First() in the context and I had to add <%@ Import Namespace="System.Linq" which looked very weird to me but it worked out. Since they are targeting at the same class why they both need separate namespace importing. Code-behind : using System; using System.Data.Linq; using System.Linq; using System.Text namespace Something { class Items : System.Web.UI { //... } } but also I need to add the same Linq namespace on the Html Source part <%@Import Namespace="System.Linq"%> Do I know something wrong or this is some kind of bug in asp.net. I thought when the page is compiling, asp.net combines these two classes and converts html source code into cs class and indicates the control in Control c= new Control(); hierarchy. • VB .Net - Reflection: Reflected Method from a loaded Assembly executes before calling method. Why?

  When I am loading an Assembly dynamically, then calling a method from it, I appear to be getting the method from Assembly executing before the code in the method that is calling it. It does not appear to be executing in a Serial manner as I would expect. Can anyone shine some light on why this might be happening. Below is some code to illustrate what I am seeing, the code from the some.dll assembly calls a method named PerformLookup. For testing I put a similar MessageBox type output with "PerformLookup Time: " as the text. But, when I create a new Windows Forms application using my sample compiler, the MSDOS window also appears, and if I close the DOS window, my WinForms app closes too.   I'm using Visual Studio 2008, and have downloaded VSeWSS.exe 1.2, to enable Web Part development. I am new to SP development, and am already bewildered by the number of different versions of SP, and the VS add-ons. This particular problem has come up, which highlights my confusion. • InfoPath FormControl on STA worker thread

  I have a .NET class that exposes two public methods: one to create an InfoPath form and another to Export to one of the supported formats. I’m using the Microsoft FormControl to do this. It’s hosted by a Form that does not get displayed. I get called by a Winforms app, but on an MTA worker thread instead of the UI thread. So I create an STA thread and execute on that, which works exactly once and then results in this exception: System.InvalidOperationException was unhandled Message="Unable to get the window handle for the 'FormControl' control. Windowless ActiveX controls are not supported."   I'm having problems with changing a Linux user's password from python. I've tried so many things, but I couldn't manage to solve the issue, here is the sample of things I've already tried: sudo_password is the password for sudo, sudo_command is the command I want the system to run, user is get from a List and is the user who I want to change the password for, and newpass is the pass I want to assign to 'user' user = list.get(ANCHOR) sudo_command = 'passwd' f = open("passwordusu.tmp", "w") f.write("%s\n%s" % (newpass, newpass)) f.close() A=os.system('echo -e %s|sudo -S %s < %s %s' % (sudo_password, sudo_command,'passwordusu.tmp', user)) print A windowpass.destroy() 'A' is the return value for the execution of os.system, in this case 256.   It had been revealed that there have been backdoor implanted in OpenBSD http://www.infoworld.com/d/developer-world/software-security-honesty-the-best-policy-285 OpenBSD is opensource, how is it that nobody in the community developper could see it in the source code ? So how can one trust all the other "opensource" Linux Of course OpenBSD is only a case, the point is not about OpenBSD, it is about opensource in general. my question is not about Openbsd per se it's about source code os inspection especially c/c++ since most are written in these languages. Also once the source is compiled how one can be sure that it really reflects the source code ? If a law requires that a backdoor being implanted and obliges to deny that kind of action under the guise of security, how can you be sure that the system has not been corrupted by some tools ? As said there is there is a "nondisclosure agreement" My guess is that 99.99% of developpers in the world are just incapable of understanding os source code and won't even bother to look at it. And above all nobody wonders about why the gov wants such massive backdoor, and that of course they will pressure medias to deny.

• A generic error occurred in GDI+, JPEG Image to MemoryStream

  Hi, This seems to be a bit of an infamous error all over the web. So much so that I have been unable to find an answer to my problem as my scenario doesn't fit. An exception gets thrown when I save the image to the stream. Weirdly this works perfectly with a png but gives the above error with jpg and gif which is rather confusing. Most similar problem out there relate to saving images to files without permissions.   Hi, I've got an installer with a custom action project. I want the action to fire at install. The action fires, when I write something to the event log, it works perfectly. But I really need to debug the file since the action is quite complicated. When I attached a control during a container's OnPreRender, I encountered a situation where the control's OnInit was not called. OK, I considered that a bug in my code and fixed as such, by attaching the control earlier. • Load Testing Java Web Application - find TPS / Avg transaction response time

  I would like to build my own load testing tool in Java with the goal of being able to load test a web application I am building throughout the development cycle. The web application will be receiving server to server HTTP Post requests and I would like to find its starting transaction per second (TPS) capacity along with the avgerage response time. The Post request and response messages will be in XML (I dont' think that's really applicable though :) ). I have written a very simple Java app to send transactions and count how many transactions it was able to send in one second (1000 ms) however I don't think this is the best way to load test. Really what I want is to send any number of transactions at exactly the same time - i.e. 10, 50, 100 etc. Any help would be appreciated!
