For example,
the start date = '20100530' and
the end date = '20100602'
How can I write a SQL to display the below result?
month: may, 2 days
month: June, 2 days
Hey guys quick question, I just installed clamAV (antivirus) on my apache server (running php and linux) and it is reducing the entire performance of my site drastically for some reason. Does anyone know why this may be or know of a better solution for scanning file uploads?
Hi Guys,
I've written a kind of navigation system for pedestrians. The only thing is, that I need a criterion to finish the navigation.
My values are gives as lat/long pairs.
What would you assume would be a good value to say, both positions are equal/near enough to tell the user that he has reached the goal?
Please keep also in mind, that it's idfficult to say "directly equal", because GPS modules may have variances...

Hi,
Consider the following structure :
Ignore the table user_token.
Now, imagine that you need to get all the roles related to an user, wich may be through it's related groups or directly related to him. In case the same role appears related to a group and the user directly, the role related to the user will prevail over the role given by the group.
Is there any chance this could be done in a single query?
Cheers!
This may sound weird but i have some css which aligns mys divs. In one place i also use http://www.brunildo.org/test/img_center.html which centers images.
Now i want my divs inside a larger div to go to another line if this one gets full. float: left seems to be the answer. The problem is it ruins my formatting. Including solution in the above link. I have this test code. If i remove the width and float it looks fine except it may take up too much space and not go to another line.
I was thinking i could use float on an outerdiv and center the image within. However float: left is still breaking it. I am hoping there is a way to remove the float so each div does go left but the div inside centers correctly not breaking my formatting.

If I have a URL to a download, www.website.com/myfile.html
so when that link is clicked it automatically starts a download, which may be myfile.txt for example, how would I get that file into C# for reading..
Is that what Net.WebRequest.Create(url), Net.HttpWebRequest does?
I have been struggling in fixing this code, wonder what is wrong at all...
var tips = "<p class="adobe-reader-download">Most computers will open PDF documents automatically, but you may need to download <a title='Link to Adobe website-opens in a new window'";
tips +=" href='http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readstep2.html' target='_blank'>Adobe Reader</a>.</p>";
if($("div#maincontent a[href*='.pdf']").length>0){
$("div#maincontent").children(":last-child").after(tip);
I don't mean to start a holy war here, but I cannot fathom why would anybody use Visual Basic for a new project.
Can you explain me why is it used? What new applications (which a lay person may be familiar with) have been developed in it? Why is it chosen over other languages?
Thanks.
I have an address that is going to be displayed on a webpage, but it is not the address for the author of the page. How should this be coded to be semantic given the w3c recommendation of:
The ADDRESS element may be used by authors to supply contact information for a document or a major part of a document such as a form. This element often appears at the beginning or end of a document.
I have a temp table which I fill and clear it in a loop in my code.
becouse of using database, it takes musch time. I want to change it to an array to run my app quicker.

We have been using Google collections in the production for several months. We would like to start using guava for additional functions. However, I'm afraid to bring guava into our product stack b/c some developers may start to use 'beta' classes.
We have various unit-tests in our code but at this point, I prefer not to include 'beta' class b/c it is subject to change in the future.
Is there any easy way to do detect if the project includes any 'beta' guava classes?
assuming i create a method which is passed an object, and that method would perform an action depending on the object passed. how should i identify the object?
i thought of using the class name to identify the object, but may be impractical since i could easily change the class name of objects, and generate headaches during future development. am i right?
Is there any built in functions to find all the files under a particular directory including files under subdirectories ?
I have tried this code, but not working...may be the logic itself is wrong...
def fun(mydir):
lis=glob.glob(mydir)

l,i=0,0
if len(lis):

Is there a clean way of cloning a record in SQL that has an index(auto increment). I want to clone all the fields except the index. I currently have to enumerate every field, and use that in an insert select, and I would rather not explicitly list all of the fields, as they may change over time.
I'm creating a sql based procedure which can
Accept a table
load the values one at a time
send the variables to a remote API
Record the response of the API
Write the response to a table for viewing later
I have successfully implemented 1,2, and 5. I am hoping there may be some way of choosing an address to contact and for SQL to listen too for a response. Please let me know if you have any suggestions!
My question is a follow-up to the issue posted here
regarding the Intellisense performance issue when building a large solution in VS2008 that has many partial static classes.
Since Microsoft does not seem to be addressing the issue for VS2008, I would like to know if there are other ways around the problem? Waiting for VS2010 is not an option at this time. The proposed solution in the previous post is not practical as some of the partial classes may be regenerated and this would be a maintenance headache.

hey all,
my site started dragging lately, the queries taking exceptionally longer than I would expect with properly tuned indexes. I just restarted the mysql server after 31 days uptime and every query is now substantially faster and the whole site renders 3-4 times faster.
Would there be anything that jumps out at you as to why this may have been? Improper settings on my.cnf perhaps? Any ideas as to what I can start looking at to try and pinpoint why?
thanks
is there any method to get data from excel to sql ? i think that we can do without any writing C#codes. For example : select * from MyExcellFile.xls.Sheet1. Or may be any wizard in sql?
Hi,
May I know the reason of getting the output of the following code as: 1,10,10? Why not it is as: 10, 10?
<script type="text/javascript">
var str="1, 100 or 1000?";
var patt1=/10?/g;
document.write(str.match(patt1));
</script>
Do you know any simple drawing libraries with align support (one component to other, also align to grid)
I would like to implement simple editor of wall configuration in the apartments, by the way.
Or, may be, there is no such component and is better to use Graphics class?
Hi all,
May I know what does this chunk of code do in wsadmin?
serverMBean = AdminControl.completeObjectName("*,type=Server")
AdminControl.invoke(serverMBean, "stop")
Will it stop the server entirely? Otherwise, what does "stop" do in the invoke method?
