I have the IP addresses of some computers on my network. Is there any command line tool like PsExec, which can take the IP Address as input and find out the username of the currently logged in user? I can install stuff on my workstation, but not the others. I can also run Metasploit / NMap / any other such program on my workstation.
Let's say I have a large website which may have a number of email addresses on it that are getting picked up by spammers. I plan to obfuscate or remove them all.
What's the easiest way to crawl my website to find any email addresses I may be exposing?
Either through on-page text (which Google can pick up, but not very well) or mailto: links (which Google can't).
It appears the default ISP proxy has some problem and got high latency. How to find a good alternative proxy at my location? Say google's proxy? I tried to search online (keyword: proxy mylocation), but couldn't tell which is trustworthy. Thanks.

I have administrator account on my windows server 2003 machine. when i try to change the password of this account from another admin account in active directory. i am getting this error “Windows cannot complete the password change for administrator because: The system cannot find the file specified” is received when trying to reset the user password.
I try command
rsync -v --files-from=/path/to/list.lst /home/user /path/to/backup
list.lst contains for example
.gnupg/
.pki/
.gnome2/keyrings/
.mozilla/firefox/*.default/bookmarkbackups/
.mozilla/firefox/*.default/bookmarks.html
.mozilla/firefox/.default/.db
files
.mozilla/firefox/.default/.sqlite
and i get error on all strings with * "failed: No such file or directory".
Can anybody help me, or as variant can i combine
find `cat /path/to/list.lst`

I've got a Vista machine, and I just uninstalled a bunch of programs that someone had installed and wasn't supposed to. My supervisor now wants me to send a list of these programs to the people who have used the computer just for safe keeping.
Is there any way I can find the names of the programs I just uninstalled?
I am watching a Flash stream. I can watch the same stream in two different players (set up by someone else), but I don't like any of them.
Is there a way I can find/get/extract the direct link to the flash stream that those two players are playing? So that I can watch it using a different player?
Edit: The player is streaming an RTMP stream, not an FLV video file.
I'm troubleshooting an issue and I need to find where client XP machines store their DNS information. I have a server with 3 NICs. 1 one of them has DNS information and two of them are in a private network not using DNS.
It appears to be NameServer entry under System\CurrentControlSet\Services\TCPip\parameters\Interfaces\guid. Anywhere else that info would be found?
I'm trying to find if an IP address is in use. I don't want to rely on ping, as most of our hosts have ICMP echo and reply turned off.
I'm looking for something that mimics window's "IP Address Conflict" detection. (How does this mechanism do it?)
Say fileA is a sym link to fileB. I have only fileB at hand and want to find all files that are sym links to fileB. Is there a command to show this in *nix?

What I want to do is have a batch file search folders, and subfolders, for matching file names that are ending in .mp3 and .wma and delete or move the *.wma duplicates.

I did some basic research by running:
whereis javac
-and-
find / -name javac

I searched the web for answers but they all seem to focus on javac existing on the filesystem, and that needs to be done is to restore a missing sym-link.
