I'm doing some study on Extreme Programming and from what is anticipated many people have published their personal reflection of what XP is and eventually prescribe some practices.
But I'm a little vague on what exactly XP refers to?! I've seen Kent Beck's book Titled "Extreme Programming Explained". is that the single source I can rely on I can take other books too?
please explain and provide some references to your answers
Well I'm working on a personal project that needs to check if a user has met certain requirements, and they come in a form of
Requirement: [c1 OR c2] AND [d1 OR d2]
Requirement: [c1 AND c2] OR [d1 AND d2]
Requirement: c1 AND any dn(n can be any integer)
I'm just not sure how to store these sorts of requirements, I'm thinking of using another object to hold c1,c2,d1,d2....dn and OR, but that seems like a roundabout way of doing things. Is there a better method?

<b>Distrowatch:</b> "Katie McCarley has announced the release of Element 1.2, an Ubuntu-based distribution for home theatre or media-centre personal computers"
I'm really having trouble with this, since it is the perfect opportunity to learn something new, begin a personal project... essentially do just about anything, but all I do is surf the Internet. I find that I don't want to look at anything programming related, and I'm seriously wondering if I'm letting boredom get the best of me, I'm depressed, or experiencing burnout? Any suggestions for how to go about taking back this unproductive time would be greatly appreciated.

Everyone is fighting to get their website on the first page of Google and rarely have the knowledge or money to hiring a professional firm that specializes in search engine marketing or SEO services. I start off by saying, "I'm not that organised" @ times and things just don't get done even If I want them too So having missed some of my own personal targets so far this year already, I thought I needed some better way to achieve on those targets and one of these is to be a "little" more organised with my spare time, so I have decided that I will "try out" the following to see if it helps For 3 weeks each month I will follow this routine (my evenings after...(read more)

Some people disable these options, but should you? We’ll look at the exact types of data applications want to send, what developers do with it, whether any sensitive personal data is being passed along, and the advantages and disadvantages to enabling these options.

I have a windows reseller account that I only really use for personal use. The host company doesn't currently offer a 1 click backup. I am looking for something to automate some kind of backup that does the following:
Backups all files
Backups all databases
I know other companies offering such a tool but I am not looking. I have thought about writing a tool that does this but thought there might be something out there that does this already?
My laptop with lubuntu 12.04 used to connect to the wifi. But after the router (Cisco E4200) was restarted I cannot connect anymore through wireless connection. (No problem using a cable.) The network is hidden and secured by WPA/WPA2 Personal, I am the only person having this problem, so I guess it's somewhere on my side. What could cause such a problem, how to diagnose it and finally how to fix it?
I am finally learning to set up an IIS server (personal use only) and I thought it would be cool to have some videos on it for me to watch when I am away from home. Since I'm usually on 3G (iPhone) or work wifi, I'd like to convert them to an optimal format that will stream fast. The video files are mostly avi and mp4 (from 30 minutes to 2 hours in length). What would be an easy and fast way to go about doing this? Thanks.
My friend recently finished hes personal work on a project that fixes a known bug in sharepoint 2010, the guy spent significant time\effort to reach this point
He consulted me on how to license this fix and asked if this possible and is it accepted for a such type of solutions!
actually I don't have any experiences in this matter especially that he is willing to start selling the fix and don't want to be lost in the market
P.S.: hes current location is U.A.E
TIA.
One of the most enjoyable things about SQLBits is reading all the blog posts/reviews after the event. We are normally fortunate enough not to have pissed anyone off and so the posts are generally positive. Most pieces are from attendees however this piece is from a wife of a sponsor http://iknowmarketing.wordpress.com/2012/04/02/events-community-vs-commercial/ . Its a nice piece for us as it highlights how we work and that how we focus on making the event personal for all those involved. We deal...(read more)

I have finished designing a little application for Pandora and I am not sure how I can get it out and share it with everyone. What should I do to help advertise it to the public and let other people use it? As of right now it is free, and I hope to keep it that way, so I don't want to spend any money to give it out. I had actually designed this application just for personal use, but hey, why should I be the only one to use it?
I wrote an article on my personal blog a few weeks ago about my preparation for my first Microsoft exam, 70-432. ( link ) Since then I’ve been reading and demo’ing all the relevant features of SQL Server in the hope that if I get questions on them I’ll be prepared. I’ve learnt a few things in the last couple of weeks, some good, some bad which I’ll now share. The first thing I found is that learning about how SQL Server works is fun and interesting, far better than spending an evening...(read more)
