I'm kind of falling in love with Node.js not because you write app code in javascript but because of its performance.
I really don't care a lot about how beautiful a server side language might be but how much requests per second it can handle.
So anyway I'm looking forward to experiment building an entire webapp using Node.js (and going back to the actual question) is there a template engine similar to let's say the django template engine or something similar (that at least allows you to extend base templates) available for Node.js?
I'm curious if anyone still creates icons other than RGB/A (or 32-bit with alpha-channel) for your Windows apps?
PS. I know that suggested model is to create 256-color versions of icons, but I always struggle with those. If I automatically convert them in an icon editor they totally decimate the look of my original icons with jagged edges and circa-Windows95 look. So if those are still required, does anyone know the stats on how many people are still using color settings other then 32-bit TrueColor?

I can't run Content Shell on my system (Windows 7 x64):
When i run --dump-render-tree with the stable release content_shell.exe crashes with message: [XXXX:XXXX:0522/XXXXXX:XXXXXXXXX:FATAL:content_main_runner.cc(735)] Check failed: base::i18n::InitializeICU() were X - some number. And i can't run dev build because it misses mojo_system.dll.
Is there any way to fix it? Does it work on Linux or MacOS? If so i probably can run it in VM For the time being.
I have a char array with data from a text file and I need to convert it to hexadecimal format.

given a list of python strings, how can I automatically convert them to their correct type? Meaning, if I have:
["hello", "3", "3.64", "-1"]
I'd like this to be converted to the list
["hello", 3, 3.64, -1]
where the first element is a stirng, the second an int, the third a float and the fourth an int.
how can I do this? thanks.

Hi, I've got over 400 bookmarks saved as .webloc files. I'd like to move them to the iPhone's goodReader app. goodReader cannot open webloc files. It can sork with pdf, html but not webloc.
Do you know of a way or a program that would take a folder as its input, and convert every single .webloc file in it into a PDF version or a html version - so I can grab the converted files and move them onto iPhone.
Thank you

Does anybody know a tool, preferably for the Explorer context menu, to recursively change the encoding of files in a project from / to UTF-8 and other encodings? Freeware or not too expensive would be great.
Edit: Thanks for the answers, +1 for all of them as they are all fine but I am a lazy bastard sometimes, and would really like to be able to just right click a folder and say "convert all .php files to UTF-8". :) Further suggestions are appreciated.
I want to be able to log FFMPEG processes because I am trying to work out how long a minute of video takes to convert to help with capacity planning of my video encoding server. How do I enable logging and where is the log file saved. I have FFMPEG installed on a CentOS LAMP machine.
I'm playing around with EF, trying to get my bearings. Right now I'm writing a blackjack game for a website. The problem is that my whenever I pull a GameState from the database, the playerHand, dealerHand, theDeck, and dealerHidden properties are null.
public class GameState
{
[Key]
[DatabaseGeneratedAttribute(DatabaseGeneratedOption.Identity)]
public int gameSession { get; set; }
public int playerScore { get; set; }
public int dealerScore { get; set; }
public Deck theDeck { get; set; }
public List<Cards> playerHand { get; set; }
public List<Cards> dealerHand { get; set; }
public Cards dealerHidden { get; set; }
public bool gameOver { get; set; }
}
public class Cards
{
[Key]
[DatabaseGenerated(DatabaseGeneratedOption.Identity)]
public int cardId { get; set; }
public string cardName { get; set; }
public int cardValue { get; set; }
}
public class GameStateContext : DbContext
{
public GameStateContext() : base("MyContext")
{
}
protected override void OnModelCreating(DbModelBuilder modelBuilder)
{
modelBuilder.Entity<GameState>().HasRequired(e => e.theDeck);
modelBuilder.Entity<GameState>().HasRequired(e => e.dealerHand).WithMany().WillCascadeOnDelete(false);
modelBuilder.Entity<GameState>().HasRequired(e => e.playerHand).WithMany().WillCascadeOnDelete(false);
modelBuilder.Entity<GameState>().HasOptional(e => e.dealerHidden);
modelBuilder.Entity<Deck>().HasRequired(e => e.cards).WithMany().WillCascadeOnDelete(false);
base.OnModelCreating(modelBuilder);
}
public DbSet<GameState> GameStates { get; set; }
public DbSet<Deck> Decks { get; set; }
public DbSet<Card> Cards { get; set; }
}
The cards and deck table are populated. Where am I going wrong?
int i ;
void set_array(int num){
int array[10];
for(i=0;i<10;i++){
array[i]=compare(num,i){
}
}
int compare(int a ,int b){
if(sub(a,b)>=0)
return 1;
else
return 0;
}
int sub(int a,int b){
return a-b;
}

I am trying to use the Sunlight API gem with a Rails project. I have installed the gem and can successfully use it from irb.
However, when I put the require statement (require 'sunlight') in sunlight.rb in config/initializers, I get the following error:
/opt/local/lib/ruby/gems/1.8/gems/activesupport-3.0.0.beta3/lib/active_support/dependencies.rb:209:in `require': no such file to load -- sunlight (LoadError)
I checked the permissions on the gems directory, and it is world readable/executable.
Here is the code from sunlight.rb:
require 'rubygems'
require 'sunlight'
Sunlight::Base.api_key = 'bb7b775755054c54aa9715d202f6785c'

I was wondering how would you print an image that's scaled three times its original size without making it look like crap? If you change the dpi to 300 and print it'll look like crap. Is there a way to convert it gracefully?
Hi, have you applied OOP features like inheritance and polymorphism etc. while using CakePHP other than inherting the base AppController class, Model class etc. ? How about design patterns?
For the iPhone, is it possible to program applications to translate words from a base language to any of several languages of various users. If so, how?
