  • Chrome 33 shows ugly, blocky, pixelated fonts in Linux

    After updating to the latest version of Chrome (33) on my Gentoo Linux box, certain sites such as GitHub have started rendering with ugly, pixelated, non-antialiased fonts. Small text is now basically impossible to read. Before this, GitHub had looked the same to me on Windows, Linux, and Mac computers. So what has happened here and how can it be fixed? EDIT: Appears to be fixed on the stable release of Chrome 34.

    How can I get the Google Chrome web browser on my TV for under $100? ($200 MAX) I have a TV with HDMI and component inputs (but no bluetooth so firmware modding is out.) I want the solution to work with bluetooth peripherals--I already have a wireless Apple keyboard and Magic Mouse. I don't want a laptop or a desktop computer, unless it's in the general form factor of an HTPC or Mac Mini. Is there a way to make this happen?

  • Fastest browser to run over a forwarded X11 session

    So far I have tried Firefox (latest and greatest) and Chrome (also latest and greatest), and while Chrome runs faster than Firefox over X11 from my CentOS server to my Windows 7 workstation, it's still pretty sluggish. What other GUI browsers are available for Linux that would [likely] run faster than Chrome? I've not tried Opera 11, but have had many issues with it under Windows and Mac OS X directly, so am waiting for a new version before going that route.

I want to install Chameleon boot loader so that no more need of EFI boot CD. How can i install Chameleon? Will i install it from Mac or from win xp? What steps?

    I have 2 switches which have redundancy between them, meaning fa0/1 on SW1 is connected to fa0/1 on SW2, and fa0/2 on SW1 is connected to fa0/2 on SW2. Both of the switches have the same BID, however the MAC address of SW1 is numerically lower, hence making it the root bridge. Now my question is, on SW2, what determines which of fa0/1 and fa0/2 becomes the RP (Root Port) and the other on blocking state?

    If I have >ip ro 192.168.14.0/24 dev eth0 another host can obtain my mac address. But if I flush routing info: >ip ro flush table main arp resolution doesn't work. Broadcast packets "Who has 192.168.14.149" reach eth0 but OS (Linux) doesn't respond despite eth0 has address 192.168.14.149. What connection exists between routing and arp resolution?

    It is noticeably faster to send and receive mail on my iPhone than on my MacBook, both through a Gmail IMAP account. (I'm still using Leopard, though.) I have a few rules set up in Mail, but it seems like the slowdown on the Mac is in the communication to Google's servers. Any explanations?

    I have two web servers behind a F5 load balancer. Each web server has identical applications to the other. There was no issue until the config of the load balancer changed from source address persistence to least connections. Now in some applications I receieve this error Server Error in '/' Application. Validation of viewstate MAC failed. If this application is hosted by a Web Farm or cluster, ensure that configuration specifies the same validationKey and validation algorithm. AutoGenerate cannot be used in a cluster. Description: An unhandled exception occurred during the execution of the current web request. Please review the stack trace for more information about the error and where it originated in the code. Exception Details: System.Web.HttpException: Validation of viewstate MAC failed. If this application is hosted by a Web Farm or cluster, ensure that configuration specifies the same validationKey and validation algorithm. AutoGenerate cannot be used in a cluster. Source Error: The source code that generated this unhandled exception can only be shown when compiled in debug mode.   • VIM: FuzzyFinderTextmate not loading properly

    I'm getting the following error when I launch :FuzzyFinderTextmate in vim: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/533753/Screen%20shot%202010-04-27%20at%2011.14.45%20AM.png It's loading the ruby file fine (from /.vim/ruby/fuzzy_file_finder.rb) And the original FuzzyFinder plugin works fine. I can't figure this one out, I've reinstalled everything twice. I'm using Mac Vim.

These are the current settings: Wireless On SSID Buster's Special Security Type WPA Encryption Type TKIP WLAN MAC Address 00:22:75:B3:58:38 WPS Enabled Guest Access Disabled SSID Belkin_N+_Guest Password/PSK NotThatSillyYet :) The iPhone is a 3g with 16GB it has no problems connecting to public networks like libraries or restaurants.     Hi, I recently have moved my server and changed nameservers and ip, i updated my domain. but somehow in windows 7 when i go to my domain, it resolves old ip even though mac os x shows the new site. Then i edited hosts file with the new ip in windows, it is ok now. but why this happens ? is it about isp cache or sth ? thanks

Nevertheless the GUI of these recipe managers seems terrible to me compared to Mac solutions like MacGourmet. Does anybody know a Windows recipe manager with an acceptable GUI?
