    - by watkins
I work in software division of a large bank and we are considering writing our own financial library. However, before we embark in such a project, I want to check that there is no such library on the market. We would need to have the following feature: Pricing of derivative products (options, futures, swaps, etc) Different financial models Hedging / risk management Open source would be great if it's stable. • why doesn't focus() work in the following line of jquery?

    - by jela
The following code is intended to check if 4 numbers are entered in the blurred field. If not, the field value is deleted, and the field is focused. The deletion works fine, but the the call to focus() does not work. $('input.dateValue').live('blur',function(event){ if (!(/(\d){4}$/.test($(this).attr('value')))) $(this).attr('value','').focus(); }); Why does the call to focus() not focus the field?

  • What are the techniques to implement evaluation period and ensure it is not tempered?

    - by understack
I've a simple product installer for windows OS, which could be evaluated for a month. What are the techniques I can use so that this piece of software is not used after a month? I've seen that several s/w use system date to check it but it's very primitive and easily forge-able. I think a key based system based on registry or online verification could be an option but I don't know much about these. Please help.

  • Detecting if two png images are different

    - by Benjol
(Context: running autohotkey scripts to try and automate some tests. The plan is to take screenshots and then compare them to 'standard' screenshots to detect if output has changed). Is there a 'clever' way to check if two png images are different? By clever I mean other than comparing them byte by byte? (after having compared their size, obviously)

  • What's wrong with this "if"?

    - by Gurzo
Hello, I'm currently trying to make an AppleScript which should recognize the selected file in Finder and do the relative command in Terminal. Everything was going fine since I reached the part where it should define the language of the selected file: it just doesn't check the ifs. I checked if it writes fileExtension correctly (via return) and it does. Here is the Gist with the code, any help would be appreciated. Thanks

  • C# Performance on Errors

    - by pm_2
It would appear that catching an error is slower that performing a check prior to the error (for example a TryParse). The related questions that prompt this observation are here and here. Can anyone tell me why this is so - why is it more costly to catch an error that to perform one or many checks of the data to prevent the error?
