• Testing bash scripts

  We have a system that has some bash scripts running besides Java code. Since we are trying to "Test Everything That Could Possibly Break" and those bash scripts may break, we want to test them. The problem is it is hard to test the scripts. Is there a way or a best practice to test bash scripts? Or should we quit using bash scripts and look for alternative solutions that are testable?

  I inherited a lib that compiled in x32 and I can't compile it to x64. I think may be to envelop the lib with x32 process and then to run it in x64 process by calling to CreateProcess function win api. then I will use shared memory for transfert the data between the API lib x32 interfaces to the x64 process. Do I miss something here(its look very complicated)?

  I'm using Executors.newScheduledThreadPool() to create a ScheduledExecutorService, specifying the number of threads like so: int corePoolSize = 42; ScheduledExecutorService foo = Executors.newScheduledThreadPool(corePoolSize); According to the JavaDocs, the corePoolSize argument sets the number of threads to keep in the pool, even if they are idle. Does this mean that this ExecutorService implementation may create more than corePoolSize threads as needed, similar to a cached thread pool?

The running program originates as a root-owned Python process, which then setuids/setgids itself as a regular user. However, I can't find the motion over the text entered in the recent input session.
