If the host program is compiled with .NET 4, but a referenced dll is .net 3.5.
Then the target deploy machine need to install both .net 4 framework and .net 3.5 framework runtime?
Programs on Linux install data for programs into $PREFIX/share/programname, how does the program know where that is, does it need to be compiled in?
Would it be suitable to assume that the binary is in $PREFIX/bin, and use that to determine $PREFIX?
This only needs to work on Linux, and specifically, I am using C.
Hi everyone,
OK I'm creating an app in MonoDevelop for Ubuntu Linux, but the compiled file is always a windows exe, I've set it to compile as a Linux Binary but I'm confused, can anyone shed any light on how to get a proper Linux way of opening the program?
Thanks
I am having an issue on OS X 10.7.5 as I used to use MAMP but for .htaccess issues I am now using my own compiled local server from a long time ago, the problem is i forgot the root password for mysql.
I have tried updating the password through terminal using mysql -u root, but I get this error message - ERROR 1045 (28000): Access denied for user 'root'@'localhost' (using password: NO)
Thanks
Ric
I am using a shared hosting environment that will not give me access to the command line.
Can I download the python module on my computer, compile it using python setup.py installand then simply upload a .py file to the web host?
If yes, where does the install statement place the compiled file?
Hi
I am getting this error : "Unhandled exception at 0x00411690 in tim.exe: 0xC0000005: Access violation reading location 0x00000008" when I execute a program this is compiled and linked successfully and the problem is that localtime() function is not correctly recognized by Visual C++ 2008. (With VC++6, this program works fine).
Is there any idea and thanks for replies:
how to get a list of files / folders as an IEnumerable and not an array?
the reason I want to do this is a have many folders with 20,000+ files in them, and i need to loop through all of them but do not want to wait for them to be compiled into an array. but just want to go through one at a time.
also i'm using .net 3.5 not v4
I am using a IoC Container (Castle Windsor) to instantiate classes accordingly to the configuration file. If I want to add classes from a new dll that didn't exist when I compiled the project, there is any way to do that without recompiling?
Edit: As this project is a Service Host for WCF service, and the classes that I want to include after compilation are WCF Services I would like also to know if I can include endpoint information about new services without recompiling.
my vb6 app is not finding a dll that is residing in the same directory as the project. What do I do to have the vb6 code see the dll? When compiled to an exe, the code sees the dll if it is in the same dir as the exe. Thanks!
I have a number resx files as follows,
Resources-es-ES.resx
Resources-es.resx
Resources.resx (english defaults)
They are compiled into an assembly and I use them for localising my web pages by simply referring to Resources.Ok for example. My question is whether there is a way to find out the "rendered culture", e.g. if I come into the site with my CurrentUICulture set to "fr-fr" for example it will fall back to using the English resources and I'm wondering how to get that information to help me with some JavaScript localisation.
You often see that a new game will be released on Xbox 360, PS3 and Windows PC.
How do gaming companies do this? Is it a common source code compiled using different compilers? Are actual different source codes required?
example news article announcing this:

I would like to compile irb from source without any optimizations so I can get more information while stepping through (interpreter) code using gdb. I have successfully compiled ruby 1.9.1 without problems, but I cannot find any documentation regarding irb. I believe that irb is included in the ruby 1.9 source, but have not been able to verify this. Can anyone point me in the right direction?
I'm setting up a new svn+trac environment, the svn server's version is 1.6.11, then I can't find any corresponding pre-compiled svn-python binding, finally I found the following thread:
http://stackoverflow.com/questions/677252/python-svn-bindings-for-windows
so, my question is: how to compile from these source?
http://svn.apache.org/viewvc/subversion/trunk/subversion/bindings/swig/python/
Is there any way to create a hash of string at compile time using the C/C++ preprocessor (or even template-metaprogramming)?
e.g. UNIQUE_SALT("HelloWord", 3DES);
The idea is that HelloWorld will not be present in the compiled binary, just a hash.
I have a version of Vim compiled with python 2.6 support enabled (from here). however vim cannot find the python26.dll.
:version confirms +python/dyn
:version and gvim.exe confirms DYNAMIC_PYTHON_DLL="python26.dll"
echo PATH confirms python26.dll is in the search path.
(both c:\windows\system32, and C:\python26)
What could I be missing? Did I skip something silly?
I always thought that varibales are mapped to stack locations once your Java source is compiled; additionally, they may include the info about the variable names and their scope in classfiles, but that's optional AFAIK.
The question is - how do my Eclipse/IDEA IDEs allow me to set a watch expression containing the local variable name? To me, it's hard to understand :)
How to diable UAC using Visual Studio 2010 to run the compiled app without problems and witout using virtualization?
I mean run the app as administrator. (with shield icon)
I have a solution in Visual studio containing a winform project(WinProj) and a deployment project for WinProj.
I added to the deployment project the primary output from WinProj. Does it be compiled in Debug or Release mode?
I am asking because in the WinProj code I have conditional precompiler statements
#if DEBUG
throw;
#endif
will or not be considered this code in the setup project?
hi ,i have compiled srp-2.1.2 under ubuntu using make ,it creat a file libsrp.a. can any one tell me how can i use libsrp.a as shared library?.i want to use libsrp in a c# file under ubuntu by using dllimport.

I have included gwt-html5-geolocation into my GWT project and was disappointed to find that it doubled up on my number of permutations compiled. Apparently if the browser does not support geolocation API then it falls back to use gears to find out your location. Is there a way to NOT compile a permutation for gears similar to the way you can tell GWT to only compile certain browser permutations? (the geolocation stuff is very much a nice-to-have and frankly if the client is running an old browser then I am happy not to get their location)
Thanks
i need to calculate few metrics (CBO, NOC, DAC, LCOM, WMC, RFC and DIT metric). Program is written in jdeveloper and i do not know how to calculate this metrics. Migration to eclipse is not possible becouse code is not compiled. Does anyone know any good program for calculating metrics?
If this was on a linux box I'd be set, but there's a distinct lack of documentation!
I want to use this with c# and the omega indexing app.
There doesn't seem to be any documentation on how to actually BUILD xapian & omega on windows (or, pre-compiled binaries which would work fine).
In MSVC, how can I make any unhandled C++ exception (std::runtime_error, for instance) crash my release-compiled program so that it generates a dump with the full stack from the exception throw location?
I have installed NTSD in the AeDebug registry an can generate good dumps for things like memory access violation, so the matter here comes down to crashing the program correctly, I suppose.
Thanks in advance.
When is a good design decision to use the Ternary Operator over if then else clause? Are there any efficiency hit? Do they get compiled to the same code? Do you think one is more readable than the other in some cases?
