Content is first reviewed by webmaster Webmaster sends out congratulations email, "Your article has been published, here is the link: http://www.mywebsite.com/new-page.html" I would like to include in the congratulations email, "Click on this link to share your article with your friends on facebook" The link I am using is the following: http://www.facebook.com/share.php?u=http://www.mywebsite.com/new-page.html If I paste it into the address bar and I am logged in it works fine and facebook parses the new page for meta data and displays Page title and description. However, when clicking on the link from my newsletter, I am redirected to the login page, even though I am logged in, and after logging in, I am sent to my profile page and the share is not posted.

• Can I automatically make my Nvidia card's fan quieter?

  I have a machine with an Nvidia graphics card. Unfortunately the GPU fan is very loud. It's very annoying at times. We never use this machine for intense 3d work - that GPU is probably not working very hard at all. I'm pretty sure I can run it at a much lower fan-speed without causing any problems. The nvclock utility can be used to manually adjust the fan-speed of my Nvidia graphics card. I'd like to call this utility automatically when the machine boots up. Is there some kind of system service which I can use to automatically apply this kind of system-wide configuration? Even better, is there a system monitoring service which can poll the GPU temperature and adjust the various system fan-speeds accordingly? Thanks!

• Starting small custom development company, type of niches to target?

  This is kind of a new years thing for me as I want to be more entrepreneurial going forward with programming and this is kind of a general question for anyone who may share the same ambitions as me. I have experience with web programming and, although I work full time for a company doing programming, I have some freelance programmers that I work with / employ for small projects. I want to see about taking things to the next level as far as building a small company doing custom development. I'm just not sure how to figure out what niches to target as far as what type of apps to build as demos, etc. I was thinking mobile (maybe Android or Iphone) but am just curious if anyone has any advice / resources. A lot of "web development" seems to end up being just using a CMS like Joomla or Wordpress, for smaller sites, so I want to figure a way to steer clear of this crowd and find some opportunity with companies / entrepreneurs who actually need real programming development done to build apps. • How can I rewrite a subdomain to go to a specific file in a specific folder?

  I've done searching for my answer and have tested a few solutions, but nothing has worked so far. I'm trying to get a URL like this: http://baseball.sports.com to rewrite to... http://pro.sports.com/baseball-index.php However, I still need to keep the domain the same (http://baseball.sports.com). The reason being I have about 5 subdomains (baseball, football, soccer, etc) that I want to run off the same code base (pro.sports.com). Everything is on the same server. • How to achieve 'forward' movement (into the screen) using Cocos2D?

  I'm interested in creating a 2.5D first-person shooter (like Doom) and I currently don't understand how to implement the player moving forward. The player will also be able to browse around the world (left, right, up, down) via gyroscope control. I plan to only use 2D sprites and no 3D models. My first attempt was to increase the scale of layers to make it appear as if the player was moving toward the objects but I'm not sure how to make it seem as if the player is passing around the objects (instead of running into them). If there are extensions that I should take a look at (like Cocos3D), please let me know. Thanks for the help! Note: I've only created 2D games so was hoping to get guided into the right direction

• Can realtek 8192cu usb wireless card be used in ubuntu 12.04 with kernel 3.2.0?

  I do like the post RTL8188CUS Wireless USB Dongle doesn't work unless I disable wireless security . But when I plug my 8192cu usb wireless card, my computer screen is off. At that time I even can not use Alt SysRq k or Alt SysRq + reisub. I compile the latest driver of 8192cu on ubuntu 12.04 with kernel 3.2.0-34. In RealTek site, I download 8192cu drive which is for Linux Kernel 2.6.18~2.6.38 and Kernel 3.0.8. But now in Ubuntu12.04 my kernel is 3.2.0-34. Every time I plug the usb 8192cu wireless card my system halts. Now I try to blacklist both the system's rtl8192cu driver and the new 8192cu driver I compile, but the system still halts when I plug the usb driver. What about you ? Thanks!

I'm trying to segment my incoming traffic by page-type such that i can find out what percentage of traffic is going to zip code pages exclusively and what percentage is going to city/state level pages. I basically want to filter by URL structure to find out what percentage of total traffic zip code pages account for. The reason for doing this is to find out if Does Google Tag Manager help with this? • How to hide keyboard layout shortcut from Unity top panel?

  I'm using Ubuntu 12.04 together with X Neural Switcher, which is a program for the automatic switching of the keyboard layout. The switcher goes with a GUI called gXNeur. The GUI places an applet icon to the Unity top panel (the gXNeur had to be whitelisted for the icon to become visible) that help a lot to configure and make urgent changes in the rules that the program uses. But after the icon is whitelisted I'm having two keyboard layout indicators in the panel (one - native, the second one - gXNeur). The native is the one I'd like to hide while gxNeur is more intuitive. Is there a way to do that? Thanks a lot for your help!

• How to reset wireless card settings

  Yesterday i was playing around of the wireless settings, and set up a tftp server. Today, i found the wireless icon does not show up on the panel anymore.. monitor and bluetooth are still there... I did: ifconfig -a, and it shows: etho0 link encap:ethernet, and it has: HWaddress inet6 addresss. RXbytes 0 TX bytes: 0, but it does not even have a ip4 address, nor a mask. The other one is: l0 link encap: local loopback inet addr 127.0.0.1. mask 2550 0 0 Can anyone help me how to reset the settings for my wireless connection? Thanks

  Go ahead, laugh. I forgot to remove the default admin/admin account on my blog. SOmebody got in and has replaced my homepage with some internet graffiti. I've used .htaccess to replace the page with a 403 error, but no matter what I do, my wordpress homepage is this hacker thing. How can I setup my server so that ONLY MYSELF can view it while I'm fixing this via .htaccess? What steps should I take to eradicate them from my server? If I delete the ENTIRE website and change all the passwords, is he completely gone? Thanks.

  Hello all, I am just wondering how do you implement libmarkdown-php in a php script? By this, I mean: What code do I run to use the markdown library? Does it simply just add one function? Does it allows me to encode markdown2html and vise versa? Where is a doc for this package, I can't find one? :( Okay, so it terns out that I found the docs, just did not match them up, the project-page did not contain any info on it being the Squeeze package libmarkdown-php, Said to know it is not in Lenny. • Ugly LibreOffice font

  I have been experiencing this super annoying bug with fonts in LibreOffice. Please see below screenshot. The spaces between letters are just messed, no matter what font or level of zoom I choose. When I change the zoom level, the spacing is actually changing but still looks very ugly. I have a pretty much default instalation of Ubuntu. I installed a couple of fonts (droid, mscorefonts). I did not change any font settings. Fonts in other applications looks great. When I open the very same text in Google Docs or MS Web Word, it looks perfect. I would appreciate any help concerning this issue. Thanks!

Math courses I'm planning to take: ODE, Linear Algebra II, Vector calc, Logic, (Analysis or Algebra), Stats, probability CS courses I'm planning to take: C(required), Data Structures, Numerical Methods, Intro to Analysis of Algorithms. • XNA - positioning after rotation

  I have a turret with a 2 gunbarrels. The turret rotates towards my mouse. So far no problem. When it creates a few bullets and positions them at the end of the gun barrels. Here is the problem. It only works the moment the gun is point upwards. The moment it rotates the end of the gun barrels have moved ofcourse, thus the bullets don't spawn at the end of the gun battels, but at the place the where the gun barrels are when the turret is pointing upwards. How can I check where the end of the gun barrels are the moment it rotates? Thanks in Advance, Mark Dijkema PS. • Crash on shutdown when using second monitor

  I have recently added a second monitor to my setup. Instead of one VGA monitor, I now have one VGA and one DVI monitor hooked up to the computer. The displays work just fine. However, ever since this monitor was added Ubuntu (10.10) does not shut down properly. I go to shutdown and it starts shutting down but just hangs and I need to manually shut it down. This has been like this for weeks and I feel not comfortable shutting it down this way over and over again. Has anybody any idea what this can be? Or, also useful, does anybody know how to get some info on why this crash occurs? Any logs that can be used for this? Thanks! Paul

• Only one resolution available in Xorg.conf

  I recently upgraded to Ubuntu 12.10 and when I try to change my resolution in NVIDIA X server settings, I only get the native one (1600x900). When I had 12.04 installed, all resolutions were available in the drop down list. My goal is to have twinview working again. I used to set my two screens to twinview and clones, using my HDTV resolution (1360x768) which was previously available in 12.04 for my laptop screen too. In 12.10, I tried to install all of the NVIDIA drivers available except the nouveau driver. I tried to add a new mode using Xrandr --newmode / --addmode, but it didn't work; it coudn't detect my output. I'd like to know if this is a known bug and if there's something to do with that. • If a variable has getter and setter, should it be public?

  I am an about to graduate Computer Science student so probably this is a stupid question. If I have a class with a variable that is private and the class have getter and setter for that variable. Why don't make that variable public? The only case I think you have to use getters and setters is if you need to do some operation besides the set or the get. Example: void my_class::set_variable(int x){ /* Some operation like updating a log */ this->variable = x; } Thanks in advance!

• TFS 2010 and Expanding Possibilities

  My organization is migrating to the new Team Foundation Server 2010, and we all are busy experimenting with ALM features. I find it very exciting and I foresee quite a lot of possibilities for TFS 2010 getting integrated with the Dynamics product line. I hope most of us know about the Version Control capabilities. However, I see a strong possibilities of having Team Builds and other automations, thanks to the technologies like workflow foundation in .net which is now being actively used in various TFS scenarios.   Lots of experiments so there is more to come!!

  Hi everyone! I bought new computer. The Graphics card is AMD Radeon HD 6450, on Windows 7 it works fine but I try to install driver on Ubuntu, and it says that "No supported adapters detected". I downloaded the driver from here. After installing "Aditional drivers" says that driver is installed. Also my screen resolution in Ubuntu is not maximum. • How long did you stay in your first programming job?

  I've been in my first programming job for just under 2 years now (it will be two years next month). I went from Junior Developer initially to just Developer after about a year (when the senior developer left). It's a small company and I write all the code. I have been offered a cool new job (Windows 8, Visual Studio 2012, SQL Server 2012, MVC etc etc) and I am considering it not because I hate my current job (I don't, it's fun) but because I am scared that if I stay in the one job for too long, other employers won't want to hire me as it will look like I can't get a job anywhere else. It would help a lot if you could answer this question: How long did you stay in your first programming job? Thanks
