    Is it possible for a rails web application to make use of the windows authentication features in its code. I am looking at being able to obtain the user's login name and domain in the application. But there is a catch. This particular web application runs off an apache web server hosted on a linux machine which is kind of networked to other windows machines. Is all of this possible?

  • Multithread http downloader with webui [closed]

    I looking for software similar to JDownloader or PyLoad. JD is pretty good but use heavy Java and for now have very weak web interface. PyLoad is awesome, include simple but powerful web-UI but downloading 10 files (10 threads each, so summary it's 100 connections running at around 8MB/s all) consume a lot of cpu - it's whole core for me. Do you know any lightweight alternatives? Aria2c is good for console but I failed to find any good webui, official one is good but after adding more files almost crashes Chrome :)

    I am looking for a program that will allow a windows computer or a Windows CE device tethered to a Cannon xsi to act as a DIY photobooth. Price is not necessarily a factor, but I'd be quite interested in an open source solution. Instead of printing the photos I'd like to write them to a single Picassa album. If the software could be controlled by the Cannon's remote control. It would be a self serving photo booth for a wedding.

  • Providing DNS redirection to honeypot server for known bad domains

    Currently running BIND on RHEL 5.4 and am looking for a more efficient manner of providing DNS redirection to a honeypot server for a large (30,000+) list of forbidden domains. Our current solution for this requirement is to include a file containing a zone master declaration for each blocked domain in named.conf. Subsequently, each of these zone declarations point to the same zone file, which resolves all hosts in that domain to our honeypot servers. ...basically this allows us to capture any "phone home" attempts by malware that may infiltrate the internal systems. The problem with this configuration is the large amount of time taken to load all 30,000+ domains as well as management of the domain list configuration file itself... if any errors creep into this file, the BIND server will fail to start, thereby making automation of the process a little frightening.   • Extracting Windows executable installers on Mac Os X?

    Is there a program or a script out there to extract the contents of a Windows installer under Mac Os X? Under Windows there is the Universal Extractor, I am looking like something like that for Mac. I don't know if there is a universal solution to this problem or if I would need a extractor specific to the type of installer. In my case I am actually trying to get the installer from Gog.com to extract so I can use them with Boxer.
