  • How to make cycle over cycles in Java?

    - by Roman
    I would like to make a cycle over the following elements: [1,2,11,12,21,22,111,112,121,122,....,222222] or for example [1,2,3,11,12,13,21,22,23,31,32,33,111,112,113,... 333333333] How can I make it in Java? In my particular case I use 4 digits (1,2,3,4) and the length of the last number can be from 1 to 10. I managed to do it in Python and PHP. In the first case I used list over lists. I started from [[1],[2],] then for every element of the list I added 1 and 2, so I got [[1,1],[1,2],[2,1],[2,2]] and so on: nchips = sum(chips) traj = [[]] last = [[]] while len(last[0]) < nchips: newlast = [] for tr in last: for d in [1,2,3,4]: newlast.append(tr + [d]) last = newlast traj += last When I did it in PHP I used number with base 3. But it was a tricky and non elegant solution. for ($i=-1; $i<=$n; $i+=1) { if ($i>-1) { $n5 = base_convert($i,10,5); $n5_str = strval($n5); $tr = array(); $found = 0; for ($j=0; $j<strlen($n5_str); $j+=1) { $k = $n5_str[$j]; if ($k==0) { $found = 1; break; } array_push($tr,$k); } if ($found==1) continue; } else { $tr = array(); } } Can it be done easily in Java?

  • Attaching functions to elements in a loop

    - by user435377
    I have the following HTML and JavaScript it works for the first set of elements when I have a '1' in the selector but when I replace the '1' with an 'i' it doesn't attach itself to any of the elements. Any ideas as to why this might not be working? • Make a table start on the same line as header

    - by ripper234
    I am trying to get a table of icons appear on the same line as the header. In the HTML below, the icons appear on a separate line. I tried using 'top' attribute to move the table, but this is not a good solution because then there's an ugly space between the icons table and the rest of the document. How can I fix this? <html> <head> <style type="text/css"> #action-icons { float:right; position:relative; border:0; } </style> </head> <body> <h1 class="edit">Bla bla</h1> <table id="action-icons"> <tbody> <tr> <td><img width="64" height="64"/></td> <td><img width="60" height="60"/></td> </tr> <tr> <td><img width="36" height="36"/></td> <td><img width="36" height="36"/></td> </tr> </tbody> </table> <table width="100%" class="tasksgrid"> <tbody> <tr> <th class='taskcell'>One</th> <th class='taskcell'>Two</th> </tr> </tbody> </table> </body> </html>

  • How to set alternate row color for an iterated table in php?

  • Striped table rows in ASP.NET MVC (without using jQuery or equivalent)

    - by Richard Ev
    When using an ASP.NET WebForms ListView control to display data in an HTML table I use the following technique in to "stripe" the table rows: <ItemTemplate> <tr class="<%# Container.DisplayIndex % 2 == 0 ? "" : "alternate" %>"> <!-- table cells in here --> </tr> </ItemTemplate> With the following CSS: tr.alternate { background-color: #EFF5FB; } I have just gone through the ASP.NET MVC Movie Database Application tutorial and learnt that in MVC-land table rows can be (must be?) constructed as follows: <% foreach (var item in Model) { %> <tr> <td> <%= Html.Encode(item.Title) %> </td> <!-- and so on for the rest of the table cells... --> </tr> <% } %> What can I add to this code to stripe the rows of my table? Note: I know that this can be done using jQuery, I want to know if it can be done another way. Edit If jQuery (or equivalent) is in your opinion the best or most appropriate post, I'd be interested in knowing why.

  • HTML block nested in PHP if statement - is this considered bad practice?

    - by JYelton
    Consider the following example: <table> <tr> <td>Row One</td> </tr> <?php if ($rowtwo) { ?> <tr> <td>Row Two</td> </tr> <?php } ?> </table> If $rowtwo is true, the second row is output, otherwise it is skipped. The code works as desired, however I am evaluating Netbeans (7 beta) as a PHP IDE (instead of just using a text editor). Netbeans flags the code with an error: Misplaced non-space characters insided [sic] a table. Should I consider an alternate way of writing this code, or is Netbeans incapable of understanding this flow control wrapper for HTML output?

  • Jquery question : maintain focus upon appending a row?

    - by PoppySeedsAndAppleJuice
    The function below checks whether the id entered is already in the database, and if it is, then it adds some html to the table. I'm not sure if it's directly related to my issue or not, but, essentially, a user will place the focus on the id input field and enters an id. Using ajax, it posts to a php script and returns data if rows are found and nothing if it doesn't. If the user then tabs over to the next input field (zipcode), or clicks in another input field, they essentially have to do so twice. The cursor "flashes" in the field briefly and then focuses out. I tried adding in a focus(), but the behavior didn't change. So, the html looks like this: <table id="tableSearchData" class="searchlist" style="width: 789px;"> <thead> <tr> <th>ID</th> <th>Zip Code</th> <th>Radius (in miles)</th> </tr> </thead> <tbody> <tr class="odd"> <!-- PROBLEM is described below --> <!-- User clicks in <input name="id[]"> and ID is checked --> <!-- User presses "tab" or clicks in <input name="zipcode[] (in the *same* row) and cursor flashes, then goes out of focus so that the user has to click in the field again --> <td class="center sorting_1"><input type="text" value="" name="id[]"></td> <td class="center"><input type="text" value="" name="zipcode[]"></td> <td class="center"><input type="text" value="" name="radius[]"></td> </tr> </tbody> </table> Here's the jquery function... Like I said, I'm not sure if it's directly related to the problem I'm having, but, thought I should include it because I suppose it's likely there is something happening there... $("#tableSearchData > tbody > tr > td > input[name=id[]]").focusout(function() { var row = $(this).closest("tr").get(0); var sData = $(this).serialize(); $.ajax({ type: "POST", url: "checkid.php", data: sData, success: function(html) { $(row).replaceWith(html); $(".preset").each(function() { $(this).attr("disabled", true); }); $(row).closest("input[name=zipcode[]]").focus(); } }); });

  • Python lxml - returns null list

    - by Chris Finlayson
    I cannot figure out what is wrong with the XPATH when trying to extract a value from a webpage table. The method seems correct as I can extract the page title and other attributes, but I cannot extract the third value, it always returns an empty list? from lxml import html import requests test_url = 'SC312226' page = ('https://www.opencompany.co.uk/company/'+test_url) print 'Now searching URL: '+page data = requests.get(page) tree = html.fromstring(data.text) print tree.xpath('//title/text()') # Get page title print tree.xpath('//a/@href') # Get href attribute of all links print tree.xpath('//*[@id="financial"]/table/tbody/tr/td[1]/table/tbody/tr[2]/td[1]/div[2]/text()') Unless i'm missing something, it would appear the XPATH is correct: Chrome screenshot I checked Chrome console, appears ok! So i'm at a loss $x ('//*[@id="financial"]/table/tbody/tr/td[1]/table/tbody/tr[2]/td[1]/div[2]/text()') [ "£432,272" ]

  • load data from external file jQuery

    - by bah
    Hi, I need to take data from external file and format it, the problem is, i want to have that data stored into a variable. Load method works for me, because i need to load not the whole document, but just a part of it, but then again, i want to load to variable and not to some dom element. $.get can do this, but it doesn't support selectors. Is there any way I could make this? Now examples: Mine external file consists of a table, which has format like this: <table><tr><td><img /></td></tr><tr><td><a></a></td><td><span></span></td></tr></table> I need to extract img, a and span tags because I need them to be displayed in different order than they're now. So, is there any chance for me that i could make this work? Thanks.

Probably chldren() and/or find() may be relevant, but I am not sure.

  • Find class in table row

    - by meep
    Hello. Take a look at this table: <table cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="order_form"> <tr> <th>Amount</th> <th>Desc</th> <th>Price</th> <th>Total</th> </tr> <tr> <td><input type="text" class="order_count" /></td> <td> <span class="order_desc">Middagstallerken</span> </td> <td> <span class="order_price">1,15</span> </td> <td> <span class="order_each_total"></span> </td> </tr> [...] </table> Upon entering amount I need to select the class "order_price" and multiply it with the value of the input "order_count" and place it in "order_each_count". I have millions of these rows so I need to find the next class in the row. I have tried using some function like this but without result: <script type="text/javascript"> $(document).ready(function(){ $('.order_count').keyup(function() { var each_price = $(this).prevUntil("tr").find("span.order_price").text(); }); }); </script> I hope someone have a good solution :-)

I know I probably shouldn’t use tables or table behavior for layout at all but I'm just curious if there's a difference and a benefit?

  • Getting jQuery to recognise .change() in IE

    - by Philip Morton
    I'm using jQuery to hide and show elements when a radio button group is altered/clicked. It works fine in browsers like Firefox, but in IE 6 and 7, the action only occurs when the user then clicks somewhere else on the page. To elaborate, when you load the page, everything looks fine. In Firefox, if you click a radio button, one table row is hidden and the other one is shown immediately. However, in IE 6 and 7, you click the radio button and nothing will happen until you click somewhere on the page. Only then does IE redraw the page, hiding and showing the relevant elements. Here's the jQuery I'm using: $(document).ready(function(){ $(".hiddenOnLoad").hide(); $("#viewByOrg").change(function () { $(".visibleOnLoad").show(); $(".hiddenOnLoad").hide(); }); $("#viewByProduct").change(function () { $(".visibleOnLoad").hide(); $(".hiddenOnLoad").show(); }); }); Here's the part of the XHTML that it affects. Apologies if it's not very clean, but the whole page does validate as XHTML 1.0 Strict: <tr> <td>View by:</td> <td> <p> <input type="radio" name="viewBy" id="viewByOrg" value="organisation" checked="checked"/> Organisation </p> <p> <input type="radio" name="viewBy" id="viewByProduct" value="product"/> Product </p> </td> </tr> <tr class="visibleOnLoad"> <td>Organisation:</td> <td> <select name="organisation" id="organisation" multiple="multiple" size="10"> <option value="1">Option 1</option> <option value="2">Option 2</option> </select> </td> </tr> <tr class="hiddenOnLoad"> <td>Product:</td> <td> <select name="product" id="product" multiple="multiple" size="10"> <option value="1">Option 1</option> <option value="2">Option 2</option> </select> </td> </tr> If anyone has any ideas why this is happening and how to fix it, they would be very much appreciated!
