    - by user296516
Hi guys, I have a database that a time filed that is stored in this format "2010.06.04. | 18:53 01". What I need is to select rows that have a specific date, for example "2010.06.04." Right now I am doing it my first selecting all rows and then looping through them and adding ones with the specified date to a new array. Maybe there is an easier way to do it and I somehow can select it using mysqli_query? Thanks!

  • Doctrine 1.2 Column Naming Conventions for Many To Many Relationships

    - by Alan Storm
I'm working with an existing database schema, and trying to setup two Doctrine models with a Many to Many relationship, as described in this document When creating tables from scratch, I have no trouble getting this working. However, the existing join tables use a different naming convention that what's described in the Doctrine document. Specifically Table 1 -------------------------------------------------- table_1_id ....other columns.... Table 2 -------------------------------------------------- table_2_id ....other columns.... Join Table -------------------------------------------------- fktable1_id fktable_2_id Basically, the previous developers prefaced all forign keys with an fk. From the examples I've seen and some brief experimenting with code, it appears that Doctrine 1.2 requires that the join table use the same column names as the tables it's joining in Is my assumption correct? If so, has the situation changed in Doctrine 2? If the answers to either of the above are true, how do you configure the models so that all the columns "line up"

  • Loop results executing twice

    - by ozzysmith
    I creating a simple site with PHP where the users can submit blogs and other users (who are logged in) can post comments on them. I have made a link called "comments" below each blog that when clicked will show / hide all the comments relevant to the specific blog (also if the user is logged in, it will show a form field in which they can submit new comments). So basically each blog will have multiple comments. I have done two different codes for this but they both have the same problem that each comment appears twice (everything else works fine). Could anyone point out why? mysql_select_db ("ooze"); $result = mysql_query ("select * from blog") or die(mysql_error()); $i = 1; while($row = mysql_fetch_array($result)) { echo "<h1>$row[title]</h1>"; echo "<p class ='second'>$row[blog_content]</p> "; echo "<p class='meta'>Posted by .... &nbsp;&bull;&nbsp; $row[date] &nbsp;&bull;&nbsp; <a href='#' onclick=\"toggle_visibility('something$i'); return false\">Comments</a><div id='something$i' style='display: none;'>"; $i++; $a = $row["ID"]; $result2 = mysql_query ("select * from blog, blogcomment where $a=blogID") or die(mysql_error()); while($sub = mysql_fetch_array($result2)) { echo "<p class='third' >$sub[commentdate] &nbsp;&bull;&nbsp; $sub[username]</p><p>said:</p> <p>$sub[comment]</p>"; } if ( isset ($_SESSION["gatekeeper"])) { echo '<form method="post" name="result_'.$row["ID"].'" action="postcomment.php"><input name="ID" type = "hidden" value = "'.$row["ID"].'" /><input name="comment" id="comment" type="text" style="margin-left:20px;"/><input type="submit" value="Add comment" /></form>'; } else { echo '<p class="third"><a href="register.html">Signup </a>to post a comment</p>'; } echo "</div>"; } mysql_close($conn); //second version of inner loop:// if ( isset ($_SESSION["gatekeeper"])) { while($sub = mysql_fetch_array($result2)) { echo "<p class='third' >$sub[commentdate] &nbsp;&bull;&nbsp; $sub[username] said:</p> <p>$sub[comment]</p>"; } echo '<form method="post" name="result_'.$row["ID"].'" action="postcomment.php"><input name="ID" type = "hidden" value = "'.$row["ID"].'" /><input name="comment" id="comment" type="text" style="margin-left:20px;"/><input type="submit" value="Add comment" /></form>'; } else { while($sub = mysql_fetch_array($result2)) { echo "<p class='third' >$sub[commentdate] &nbsp;&bull;&nbsp; $sub[username] said:</p> <p>$sub[comment]</p>"; } echo '<p class="third"><a href="register.html">Signup </a>to post a comment</p>'; } echo "</div>"; } mysql_close($conn);

For e.g. Seat Numbers 38 & 39 can not be issued even if both the seats are from the same row because the column numbers 2 & 5 are not adjacent. The expected results are as follows: 31 33 35 37 39 41 43 These are the starting numbers and the next seat will be automatically booked as well. for e.g. 31 & 32

  • Getting highest results in a JOIN

    - by Keithamus
I've got three tables; Auctions, Auction Bids and Users. The table structure looks something like this: Auctions: id title -- ----- 1 Auction 1 2 Auction 2 Auction Bids: id user_id auction_id bid_amt -- ------- ---------- ------- 1 1 1 200.00 2 2 1 202.00 3 1 2 100.00 Users is just a standard table, with id and user name. My aim is to join these tables so I can get the highest values of these bids, as well as get the usernames related to those bids; so I have a result set like so: auction_id auction_title auctionbid_amt user_username ---------- ------------- -------------- ------------- 1 Auction 1 202.00 Bidder2 2 Auction 2 100.00 Bidder1 So far my query is as follows: SELECT a.id, a.title, ab.bid_points, u.display_name FROM auction a LEFT JOIN auctionbid ab ON a.id = ab.auction_id LEFT JOIN users u ON u.id = ab.user_id GROUP BY a.id This gets the single rows I am after, but it seems to display the lowest bid_amt, not the highest.

  • Symfony 1.4: Deleting a sfGuardUser

    - by Tom
Hi, I'm having some trouble with the following... I have a sfGuardUser table set up normally, and it has a one-to-one relationship with a Profile table, which contains some additional user info. When a user wants to delete themselves from the site, I'd like to retain their info in the Profile table for various purposes BUT delete the sfGuardUser in order to keep that table cleaner/shorter (not just set it to inactive). I was under the impression that I could set the FK in the Profile table to NULL and then delete the sfGuardUser, but it seems the FK-constraint fails. Indeed, it seems I can't delete either and the queries fail: If I try to delete the sfGuardUser, the Profile table will have an invalid FK If I try to delete a Profile, the sfGuardUser will have an invalid FK Other than leaving outdated sfGuardUsers and Profiles in these tables, or having to use a cascaded delete to get rid of both, can anyone tell me if there's any other way around this? Thank you.

  • Multiple left joins, how to output in php

    - by Dan
I have 3 tables I need to join. The contracts table is the main table, the 'jobs' and 'companies' table are extra info that can be associated to the contracts table. so, since I want all entries from my 'contracts' table, and the 'jobs' and 'companies' data only if it exists, I wrote the query like this.... $sql = "SELECT * FROM contracts LEFT JOIN jobs ON contracts.job_id = jobs.id LEFT JOIN companies ON contracts.company_id = companies.id ORDER BY contracts.end_date"; Now how would I output this in PHP? I tried this but kept getting an undefined error "Notice: Undefined index: contracts.id"... $sql_result = mysql_query($sql,$connection) or die ("Fail."); if(mysql_num_rows($sql_result) > 0){ while($row = mysql_fetch_array($sql_result)) { $contract_id = stripslashes($row['contracts.id']); $job_number = stripslashes($row['jobs.job_number']); $company_name = stripslashes($row['companies.name']); ?> <tr id="<?=$contract_id?>"> <td><?=$job_number?></td> <td><?=$company_name?></td> </tr> <? } }else{ echo "No records found"; } Any help is appreciated.

  • Query returning related assets

    - by GMo
    I have 2 tables, one is an assets table which holds digital assets (e.g. article, images etc), the 2nd table is an asset_links table which maps 1-1 relationships between assets contained within the assets table. Here are the table definitions: Asset +---------------+--------------+------+-----+---------+----------------+ | Field | Type | Null | Key | Default | Extra | +---------------+--------------+------+-----+---------+----------------+ | id | int(11) | NO | PRI | NULL | auto_increment | | source | varchar(255) | YES | | NULL | | | title | varchar(255) | YES | | NULL | | | date_created | datetime | YES | | NULL | | | date_embargo | datetime | YES | | NULL | | | date_expires | datetime | YES | | NULL | | | date_updated | datetime | YES | | NULL | | | keywords | varchar(255) | YES | | NULL | | | status | int(11) | YES | | NULL | | | priority | int(11) | YES | | NULL | | | fk_site | int(11) | YES | MUL | NULL | | | resource_type | varchar(255) | YES | | NULL | | | resource_id | int(11) | YES | | NULL | | | fk_user | int(11) | YES | MUL | NULL | | +---------------+--------------+------+-----+---------+----------------+ Asset_links +-----------+---------+------+-----+---------+----------------+ | Field | Type | Null | Key | Default | Extra | +-----------+---------+------+-----+---------+----------------+ | id | int(11) | NO | PRI | NULL | auto_increment | | asset_id1 | int(11) | YES | | NULL | | | asset_id2 | int(11) | YES | | NULL | | +-----------+---------+------+-----+---------+----------------+ In the asset_links table there are the following rows: 1 - 3, 1 - 4, 2 - 10, 2 - 56 I am looking to write one query which will return all assets which satisfy any asset search criteria and within the same query return all of the linked asset data for linked assets for that asset. e.g. The query returning assets 1 and 2 would return : Asset 1 attributes - Asset 3 attributes - Asset 4 attributes Asset 2 attributes - Asset 10 attributes - Asset 56 attributes What is the best way to write the query?

  • Cannot add or update a child row: a foreign key constraint fails

The URL am getting the id from is: http://localhost/rest_v2/public_html/admin/add-delete-pics.php?restaurant-id=2 Any help please?

  • Relating text fields to check boxes in Java

    - by Finzz
    This program requires the user to login and request a database to access. The program then gets a connection object, searches through the database storing the column names into a vector for later use. The problem comes with implementing text fields to allow the user to search for specific values within the database. I can get the check boxes and text fields to appear using a gridlayout and add them to a panel. How do I relate the text fields to their appropriate check box? I've tried adding them to a vector, but then they can't also be added to the panel as well. I've searched for a way to name the text fields as the loop cycles through the column names, but it seems impossible to do without having them declared ahead of time. This can't be done either, as it's impossible to determine the attributes that the user will request. I just need to be able to know the names of the text fields so I can test to see if the user entered information and perform the necessary logic. Let me know if you have to see the rest of the code to give an answer, but hopefully you get the general idea of what I'm trying to accomplish. Picture of UI: try { ResultSet r2 = con.getMetaData().getColumns("", "", rb.getText(), ""); colNames1 = new Vector<String>(); columns1 = new Vector<JCheckBox>(); while (r2.next()) { colNames1.add(r2.getString(4)); JCheckBox cb = new JCheckBox(r2.getString(4)); JTextField tf = new JTextField(10); columns1.add(cb); p3.add(cb); p3.add(tf); } }

  • Time diff calculations where date and time are in seperate columns

    - by pedalpete
I've got a query where I'm trying to get the hours in duration (eg 6.5 hours) between two different times. In my database, time and date are held in different fields so I can efficiently query on just a startDate, or endDate as I never query specifically on time. My query looks like this SELECT COUNT(*), IFNULL(SUM(TIMEDIFF(endTime,startTime)),0) FROM events WHERE user=18 Sometimes an event will go overnight, so the difference between times needs to take into account the differences between the dates as well. I've been trying SELECT COUNT(*), IFNULL(SUM(TIMEDIFF(CONCAT(endDate,' ',endTime),CONCAT(startDate,' ',startTime))),0) FROM events WHERE user=18 Unfortunately I only get errors when I do this, and I can't seem to combine the two fields into a single timestamp.

  • Storing "binary" data type in C program

    - by puchu
I need to create a program that converts one number system to other number systems. I used itoa in Windows (Dev C++) and my only problem is that I do not know how to convert binary numbers to other number systems. All the other number systems conversion work accordingly. Does this involve something like storing the input to be converted using %? Here is a snippet of my work: case 2: { printf("\nEnter a binary number: "); scanf("%d", &num); itoa(num,buffer,8); printf("\nOctal %s",buffer); itoa(num,buffer,10); printf("\nDecimal %s",buffer); itoa(num,buffer,16); printf("\nHexadecimal %s \n",buffer); break; } For decimal I used %d, for octal I used %o and for hexadecimal I used %x. What could be the correct one for binary? Thanks for future answers!

  • Calculate distances and sort them

    - by Emir
Hi guys, I wrote a function that can calculate the distance between two addresses using the Google Maps API. The addresses are obtained from the database. What I want to do is calculate the distance using the function I wrote and sort the places according to the distance. Just like "Locate Store Near You" feature in online stores. I'm going to specify what I want to do with an example: So, lets say we have 10 addresses in database. And we have a variable $currentlocation. And I have a function called calcdist(), so that I can calculate the distances between 10 addresses and $currentlocation, and sort them. Here is how I do it: $query = mysql_query("SELECT name, address FROM table"); while ($write = mysql_fetch_array($query)) { $distance = array(calcdist($currentlocation, $write["address"])); sort($distance); for ($i=0; $i<1; $i++) { echo "<tr><td><strong>".$distance[$i]." kms</strong></td><td>".$write['name']."</td></tr>"; } } But this doesn't work very well. It doesn't sort the numbers. Another challenge: How can I do this in an efficient way? Imagine there are infinite numbers of addresses; how can I sort these addresses and page them?

My problem is that how can I prevent the users or hackers to play with url paramenters Or give access only if the parameter value is exist in database? I have at least 2 and at most 5 parameter in url so is this feasible to check every parameter is exist in database on every page? Thanks

  • Displaying code with <pre> tags.

    - by iMaster
Currently I'm using <pre><code> code here </code><pre> to display code. I'm pulling this information from a DB for a blog. The problem I'm having is that some of the code isn't showing. For example, in the source code I have this: <pre><code><br /> echo '<ul class="mylist"><li><ul class="left">'; foreach($nameArray as $name) { if($countervar == $half) { echo '</ul></li>'; echo'<li><ul class="right">'; } echo '<li>$name</li>'; ++$i; } echo '</ul></li>'; echo '</ul>'; ?> But all that shows up is this: echo ''; foreach($nameArray as $name) { if($countervar == $half) { echo ''; echo''; } echo '$name'; ++$i; } echo ' An there's some really weird formatting/spacing issues as well. Any ideas as to what is causing this? I should also mention that some of the other sets of code show up just fine.

  • ASP, My SQL & case sensitity suddenly broken

    - by user131812
Hi There, We have an old ASPsite that has been working fine for years with a MY SQL database. All of a sudden last week lots fo SQL queries stopped working. The database has a table called 'members' but the code calls 'Members'. It appears the queries used to work regardless of case sensitivity on the table names, but something has changed recently somewhere to enforce case. This has me stumped as the site has not been touched in years, the server config hasn't changed & the database provide has not changed anything. Is there any simple way to ignore case for an ASP site (without editing lots fo files :) Thanks Ben

  • Select rows where column LIKE dictionary word

    - by Gerve
I have 2 tables: Dictionary - Contains roughly 36,000 words CREATE TABLE IF NOT EXISTS `dictionary` ( `word` varchar(255) NOT NULL, PRIMARY KEY (`word`) ) ENGINE=InnoDB DEFAULT CHARSET=latin1; Datas - Contains roughly 100,000 rows CREATE TABLE IF NOT EXISTS `datas` ( `ID` int(11) NOT NULL AUTO_INCREMENT, `hash` varchar(32) NOT NULL, `data` varchar(255) NOT NULL, `length` int(11) NOT NULL, `time` int(11) NOT NULL, PRIMARY KEY (`ID`), UNIQUE KEY `hash` (`hash`), KEY `data` (`data`), KEY `length` (`length`), KEY `time` (`time`) ) ENGINE=InnoDB DEFAULT CHARSET=latin1 AUTO_INCREMENT=105316 ; I would like to somehow select all the rows from datas where the column data contains 1 or more words. I understand this is a big ask, it would need to match all of these rows together in every combination possible, so it needs the best optimization. I have tried the below query, but it just hangs for ages: SELECT `datas`.*, `dictionary`.`word` FROM `datas`, `dictionary` WHERE `datas`.`data` LIKE CONCAT('%', `dictionary`.`word`, '%') AND LENGTH(`dictionary`.`word`) > 3 ORDER BY `length` ASC LIMIT 15 I have also tried something similar to the above with a left join, and on clause that specified the like statement.

  • Unique constraint with nullable column

    - by Álvaro G. Vicario
I have a table that holds nested categories. I want to avoid duplicate names on same-level items (i.e., categories with same parent). I've come with this: CREATE TABLE `category` ( `category_id` int(10) unsigned NOT NULL AUTO_INCREMENT, `category_name` varchar(100) NOT NULL, `parent_id` int(10) unsigned DEFAULT NULL, PRIMARY KEY (`category_id`), UNIQUE KEY `category_name_UNIQUE` (`category_name`,`parent_id`), KEY `fk_category_category1` (`parent_id`,`category_id`), CONSTRAINT `fk_category_category1` FOREIGN KEY (`parent_id`) REFERENCES `category` (`category_id`) ON DELETE SET NULL ON UPDATE CASCADE ) ENGINE=InnoDB DEFAULT CHARSET=utf8 COLLATE=utf8_spanish_ci Unluckily, category_name_UNIQUE does not enforce my rule for root level categories (those where parent_id is NULL). Is there a reasonable workaround?

Execute it and go. curl_exec($ch); //Execute curl_close($ch); //Close it off } //While loop I'm relatively new to cURL. By relatively new, I mean this is my first time using cURL. Currently it loads one for two seconds, then loads the next one for 2 seconds, then the next. however, I want to make it load ALL of them at the same time. I'm sure its possible, I'm just unsure as to how. If someone could point me in the right direction, I'd appreciate it.
