I am using "ftp" command in AIX. when I use, open public.dhe.ibm.com It's prompting for username/password. But no information regarding this is given on the linked page. • Problem opening files with Gvim on Windows 7

  Just installed gvim on windows 7 for the first time, and I'm having a problem opening some files. When I open files vim seems to flash up a cmd window for a few second before closing it (too quickly to make out the contents,) and I end up with a C:/Program folder, and a /Files/vim/vimfiles/doc/ in the directory of the file I just opened. I can see it's trying to access C:/Program Files/vim/vimfiles/doc, which is where vim is installed, however it's choking on the space, and I'm not familiar enough with gvim to work out why. Any and all ideas are greatly appreciated.

• Strange behavior from Firefox and Paypal Plugin

  Ok, so I use the paypal plugin with firefox, which is really nice because you can generate single use credit-cards on the fly. However, recently it's been acting strange. Normally, when you use the plugin, a drop-down window open in firefox. However, at some point (I'm not sure exactly when it happened, because I thought it wasn't working for a while) the drop-down window started appearing in thunderbird. As in, I click on the plugin button in firefox, and the plugin window immediately opens in Thunderbird. If Thunderbird is closed, the plugin does not open at all. I can use it normally this way (everything works except the receipt-saving function). but the whole affair seems a little odd to me. Is there any reason that could cause things to be redirected from one mozilla-application-window to another mozilla-application-window?   let's assume in vim I have following lines: all what (strong) people have to do is pushing (heavy) weights over (and over) again in order to gain muscles and I need to convert words inside parenthesis to uppercase, what is the most convenient way to do so? How do I tell vim it needs to select everything to the first (!) closing parenthesis? So far I came up with :%s/\s(.*)\s/\U&/g unfortunately this will uppercase everything between 'strong' and 'heavy' which is not what I want. Any chance to tell vim it should select the chars to the next closing bracket only? (sorry for the silly example, couldn't think of something more sophisticated... or at least vim related... huh)

  Hi I mostly do C++, Objective-C programming. And I found Xcode plus an auto completion/macro plugin (Completion Dictionary) quite adequate. However, all people seem to praise over their pure text editors. I tried Textmate for a bit; liked its simplicity but dislike its files/framework handling. Am I missing something here?   In vim, you can create a fold with zf, so if is %, you can neatly fold a delimited block. is there a way to select some text in visual mode and automatically fold that? I've noticed that if I select a closed fold and use dd to delete it, then go somewhere else and use P to paste it, the fold will disappear and the fold will be expanded. I want to cut the folded stuff and paste it and have it paste with the folds still intact and closed.
