I have a very simple console app where I'm using dataset.WriteXml(@"c:\temp") but I'm getting message "Access Denied". What do I need to do?
Using Visual Studio 2008 on XP Pro.
Hai,
I am using Visual Studio 2008 and Framework 3.5. I wrote a WebService and I added that WebService in my page through ScriptManager Service Path. I wrote a method in the webservice, that returns List<.... I captured that value from JavaScript function. Now I want to bind that List<... value to with my Asp:GridView using JavaScript. Help me .....
When I create a new chart object via:
ChartFX.WebForms.Chart theChart = new ChartFX.WebForms.Chart();
When I took a look immediately the row after creation via breakpoint in Visual Studio 2005 I noticed there are 3 rows in the newly created chart that have data. Is this a bug? or do I need to call a specific function? Shouldn't the data table for the chart be initialized to all 0's?
From one particular machine, accounts are unable to get tfs project info and source control via the visual studio tfs client.
The connection with the tfs server is made but the project content remains empty.
Web access is possible from this machine.
Note: from all other machines everything works normally, so it must be a local machine issue.
What might be misconfigured on this machine?
Otherwise there seem to be no problems on this XP machine.
Hi
I currently loook after 20 odd databases in SQL server 2005 and need a tool for monitoring the performance and keep me informed if a database is running slow. Is there anything I can run within Managment studio of any other good third party tool (Pref free) that can do the job.
Thanks
I've made this a community wiki...
Okay, I was looking through someone's code one day and I was annoyed how they declared all their functions first and then later called them below. I guess I'm use to Visual Studio's automatically generated functions, that are made after you call them- and I was wondering, which way do you prefer? Or is there a standard on these kind of things?
I've been struggling with trying to get this to work. Does anybody know of a easy to follow tutorial that shows the Master/Detail grid view?
Thanks. I'm a very novice programmer.
I'm using Visual Studio 2008 with c#.
I want to convert a tab delimited text file to a XML file. I was able to do it with a single character delimiter. But how do i extend it to tabs? I am coding in C# and using Visual Studio 2010.
I am aware of other solutions like System.Data.Sqlite or Firebird through Dblinq, but since nothing beats SQL Compact Edition (integration-wise) with Visual Studio, I would like to use it and to know if its license allows its usage in Open Source projects.
Thanks.
If we can have more than one .config files, we can share one config file with other projects and put private configuration into another. Visual Studio 2008 will be confused?
It doesn't look like SQL Server Compact Edition supports the RANK() function. (See Functions (SQL Server Compact Edition) at http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms174077(SQL.90).aspx).
How would I duplicate the RANK() function in a SQL Server Compact Edition SELECT statement.
(Please use Northwind.sdf for any sample select statements, as it is the only one I can open with SQL Server 2005 Management Studio.)
I have a .Net application that I distribute using ClickOnce and I make available online only. How do I clear the download cache from a users machine that doesn't have Visual Studio installed?
I'm looking for suggestions for web development IDEs. I'm currently looking at Aptana Studio and it looks rather impressive so far. Anyone have other suggestions?
I'm looking for support for HTML, CSS and JavaScript.
Thanks!
If I drag and drop an assembly, or use the Toolbox's "Choose items..." dialog, should I be choosing the debug or release version of my assemblies from their bin\ folders?
I.e. is Visual Studio clever enough to work out that when I want a release build it'll reference Release built assemblies?
When I have to use KyewordSearchQuery, When to use FullTextSearchQuery, When to Use Query in development of search webpart in visual studio for the sharepoint site?
When I try opening a project I get an exception saying Web application is configured to use IIS.
Error : The Web Application Project EntityServices is configured to use IIS. To access local IIS Web sites, you must install the following IIS components:
IIS 6 Metabase and IIS 6 Configuration Compatibility
In addition, you must run Visual Studio in the context of an administrator account.
NOTE - I have already installed IIS 7. My box is a x64 bit Windows 7 box.
I've never been happy with anything I've ever found. But not having good UML, or at a minimum some clear class diagrams, makes it difficult to move forward with design on a team. Especially if you're a team deeply engrained in Agile concepts wrapped in Scrum.
UML Tools? Visio? Visual Studio? Other?
Is there any class available to get a remote PC's date time in .net? In order to do it, I can use a computer name or time zone. For each case, are there different ways to get the current date time? I am using Visual Studio 2005.
I have a certain config.xml file in one of my projects (Silverlight class library) in a folder in the solution. It's build action is set to content. In that same project I am trying to load the xml file by saying:
XDocument xml = XDocument.Load("/config.xml");
This unfortunately is not working. Upon inspecting the xap file, I see that the xml file is not being copied to it. I am using Visual Studio 2010 RC.
Using Ms SQL Server 2005 and Management Studio how do I insert a picture into an Image type field of a table?
Most importantly how do I verify if it is there?
When linking with ld (SunOS 5.10, Sun Studio 12), what is the list of possible tokens that are accepted by ld -D?
Neither man ld nor ld --help reveals the proper list. Namely, I need full information on the missing symbols (not just the demangled name of a C++ function).
I have an application which depends on the Team Foundation Server "Object Model", and looks for such binaries in the GAC. This means that clients of the app need to install Visual Studio, or the standalone TFS object model in order to use the application.
I would like the installer to detect that the TFS bits aren't installed, and fail to install appropriately if they are not.
Is such a thing possible?
I would like to make my windows form app self updating when it starts. Where can I find good information for that?
I am using Visual Studio 2008 VB.NET.
