  • jQuery, .empty() and memory

    Hello, my application (ASP.NET MVC) shows a page which loads data constantly, at certain intervals. The jQuery script calls a controller and this one renders a different partial view, based on certain conditions. This partial view is the appended to the DOM with jQuery; previous elements are removed with the empty() method. I've realized that after one day the browser loads something like 600Mb of memory. What am I doing wrong? Thanks Alberto

    Hi I am trying to add a filter to a controller that is based on a certain role (using role_requirement) and then on the company_id that each user has. So basically I need something like this: require_role "company" ** This is working fine before_filter :company_required def company_required unless current_user.company_id == Company.find(params[:id]) end end The error I am receiving undefined method `company_id' for nil:NilClass I would appreciate any guidance.     It's kind of hard to explain, but an example of what I'm wanting to accomplish is like this: Here is some text | image | that is printed | | out in a view and --------- it is wrapped around an image that is floating and right aligned. I thought about generating the layout in html and using a web view, but I need to be able to perform an action when the user clicks on the image. Does anyone have any ideas?     I have a problem logging onto a page and then using it with cURL. I login, get PHPSESSID and cookie, and then try to do an action but page returns 'not logged in'. But if I manually log in and copy/paste that PHPSESSID into curl cookies .txt file, everything works fine. So why doesn't it work with PHPSESSID from cURL?

  • Pass a variable from postDispatch() to view instance in Zend Framework

    I have a controller plugin with postDispatch() hook, and there I have a $variable. How to pass this variable to the view instance? I tried Zend_Layout::getMvcInstance()->getView(), but this returns new view instance (not the application resource). The same with $bootstrap->getResource('view'). I don't want to pass it as a request param. Now, as a workaround I do it using Zend_Registry. But, is it the best way?

Why's that?

    Hi everyone, I'm using greybox and trying the following thing: I want to make a form inside the pop-up so when the users submit's it, the request goes to the main window and the pop-up closes. I know the way to close the window is by using onclick="parent.parent.GB_hide()", but I really haven't been able to find a way to make the pop-up close and the data sent to the corresponding controller when the form is submitted. I'm using Zend FW. Thanks in advance, I really appreciate what this community does.

    My calendar resource is a nested resource under profile map.resources :profiles, :has_many=>[:calendar] I am trying to write a rspec spec for calendarcontroller it "should use supplied date" do get :show , :month = '09' , :year = '2010' end But i get an error stating No route matches {:month="09", :year="2010", :controller="calendar", :action="show"} Any idea how i could get around this ?
