Hi,
in my unit test, the ViewResult.ViewName property is always empty when i use the action name for the view:
return View(model);
or
return View();
Is that by design?
Hello,
my application (ASP.NET MVC) shows a page which loads data constantly, at certain intervals.
The jQuery script calls a controller and this one renders a different partial view, based on certain conditions.
This partial view is the appended to the DOM with jQuery; previous elements are removed with the empty() method.
I've realized that after one day the browser loads something like 600Mb of memory.
What am I doing wrong?
Thanks
Alberto
Is it possible to rewrite the URL in the URL-field on the client's browser?
So when a person clicks on a link on my page something ajax happens (eg a tab shows up) i want the url to display the action without refreshing the page.
Is this possible?
Hi,
The standard extension for template files in Zend Framework is .phtml... I need to change them to .js in one specific module... can anyone help... I'd ideally like to change this a Controller level...
Many thanks...
Is it possible to adapt a method like this function "F"
class C {
public void F(int i);
}
to a delegate like Action<C,int>?
I have this vague recollection that Microsoft was working on supporting this kind of adaptation. But maybe I misremembered!
I'm new to Cocoa Touch, so this might be pretty easy, but I can't seem to figure out what UIKit elements were used to create a grid like this?
Is this simply a UITableView with a pagination controller? If so, how'd they style it like this?
Thanks!
PS: I'm not allowed to post images yet, i guess. hopefully the link works...

Hi,
what the syntax is in Action Mailer Basics rails guide ?
class UserMailer < ActionMailer::Base
def welcome_email(user)
recipients user.email
from "My Awesome Site Notifications <[email protected]>"
subject "Welcome to My Awesome Site"
sent_on Time.now
body {:user => user, :url => "http://example.com/login"}
end
end
How should i understand the construction, like
from "Some text for this field"
Is it an assignment the value to a variable, called "from" ?
Hi
I am trying to add a filter to a controller that is based on a certain role (using role_requirement) and then on the company_id that each user has.
So basically I need something like this:
require_role "company" ** This is working fine
before_filter :company_required
def company_required
unless current_user.company_id == Company.find(params[:id])
end
end
The error I am receiving
undefined method `company_id' for nil:NilClass
I would appreciate any guidance. Thanks
$('tr').click(function() {
$("#showgrid").load('/Products/List/Items/');
});
Using this I am handling click event on the row of the table.
How can I handle only on the first column? that is, giving click action to only first column not on entire row?
thanks
It's kind of hard to explain, but an example of what I'm wanting to accomplish is like this:
Here is some text | image |
that is printed | |
out in a view and ---------
it is wrapped around an
image that is floating and
right aligned.
I thought about generating the layout in html and using a web view, but I need to be able to perform an action when the user clicks on the image. Does anyone have any ideas?
Thanks in advance,
groomsy
I have a problem logging onto a page and then using it with cURL.
I login, get PHPSESSID and cookie, and then try to do an action but page returns 'not logged in'.
But if I manually log in and copy/paste that PHPSESSID into curl cookies .txt file, everything works fine. So why doesn't it work with PHPSESSID from cURL?
I have a controller plugin with postDispatch() hook, and there I have a $variable.
How to pass this variable to the view instance?
I tried Zend_Layout::getMvcInstance()->getView(), but this returns new view instance (not the application resource). The same with $bootstrap->getResource('view').
I don't want to pass it as a request param.
Now, as a workaround I do it using Zend_Registry.
But, is it the best way?
Can we put form tag inside view in MVC. I need to keep report controller inside the form tag which is inside the view. It works fine. I am new to MVC, can anybody tell is it the correct way to work with.
Hi,
I am trying to get the following spec to run:
describe BlacklistController, "GET index" do
it "should display the list of universally blocked numbers" do
get :index
debugger
assigns[:blocked_numbers].should contain "190"
end
end
Here's the action
def index
@blocked_numbers << "190"
respond_to do |format|
format.html
end
end
And the failure simply says that assigns[:blocked_numbers} is nil. Why's that?
Hi everyone,
I'm using greybox and trying the following thing: I want to make a form inside the pop-up so when the users submit's it, the request goes to the main window and the pop-up closes.
I know the way to close the window is by using onclick="parent.parent.GB_hide()", but I really haven't been able to find a way to make the pop-up close and the data sent to the corresponding controller when the form is submitted.
I'm using Zend FW.
Thanks in advance,
I really appreciate what this community does.
Hi, This is a simple question:
I have 2 different view controllers, and each one has its own data stored in its .m file.
I want to take a value, for instance, an integer value (int i=3;) that is declared in ViewController1 and pass it to ViewController2, so I will be able to use that value in the second view controller.
Can anyone please tell me how to do it?
Thanks in advance,
Sagiftw
Is there a standard way to check if a view layout exists from within a Controller in Rails? I'm trying to allow the user to determine the layout, but it needs to exist first.
I am in search of a programming language with the below characteristics:
it has existing, large and supportive/helpful community
it has consice syntax
it's fast
it can create standalone apps with no dependencies, totally portable and compatible with windows
I can easily set event listeners of almost anything
I can easily do automatically every action possible
has as extensive as possible ready-to-use commands list
works easily with winxp, win com, firefox, etc api
for example, I want to detect that I have clicked a specific button in a webpage in firefox or in a third-party app in windows:
I want to do this easily, not with writing 100 lines of code
I'd like to map my Users to root - so '/:id'. I do the following now
map.connect ':id', :controller = 'users', :action = 'show'
... but I'd also like the links that are generated by Rails to have this format. Can I do a map.resources ... :as = :root or something similar?

Hi,
In the constructor of an object i need to create a WPF mediaElement object:
m_videoMedia = new MediaElement();
but the class can also be instantiated from a other thread so i need to use
Dispatcher.Invoke(DispatcherPriority.Normal,
(Action)(() => { m_videoMedia = new MediaElement(); }));
But how can I get the right dispatcher instance in that constructor :s
I want to be able to map Google Docs' folder system to urls in my application and am just wondering how I can say "route, I want you to match an arbitrary set of nodes, and the last one is the file (or possibly a directory, I can check in the controller)".
So I could do things like:
www.mysite.com/documents/folder1/childfolderA/document
www.mysite.com/documents/root-level-doc
Can the routes.rb file do something like this?
I have this simple form:

I want that when a user click on submit, then will be open another window of browser with the results. Is it possible ?
